Our Opnion

A Canadian favourite. The Royal Decameron is a large, well run hotel with lots of activities and entertainment always going on. Being in Riviera Nayarit, the beach is excellent and expansive. There are many restaurants to choose from and the food is very good. Shopping in Bucerias is literally right outside the resort. Great value, excellent service and a fun atmosphere are just some of the reasons why this hotel is one of our most popular resorts year after year. A solid choice for couples, families and singles.

Terrible service, they closed our rooms without realizing that we had reserved more days...and they give better treatment to foreigners...the pools are not very clean...the bartenders are rude and do not serve a full glass

The food should be a lot hotter the adult pool should be cleaned more often other then that we really enjoyed our selfs

Let them shade the pools haha

Stayed here as 1 of our first vacations years ago, absolutely loved it. This trip, not so great. I don't know if the economy has had an effect on the quality of food and drink, but in my opinion it is terrible, so much so that we only eat breakfast here and go into buscerias for the other meals. The staff is still friendly and helpful, and I wonder if they feel the pinch of lost tips? Will not return or recommend. There are so many more options in the area

I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO A PERSON, LESS A LARGE FAMILY.
It was the worst food I have ever had, it lacked seasoning, lack of love for food. Almost all the staff were disrespectful, unwilling to work and with little organization.
The reservation system for theme restaurants is the most complicated and inflexible, it is not possible that reservations can only be made at 8 in the morning.
They also need to review the quality of the food in the theme restaurants since it is the worst and did not do justice to the gastronomy of those countries.
Housekeeping staff ignores cleaning requests.
They have to be more specific in the places where the wi fi works because it is terrible
The water for tea and coffee tasted salty and was always served cold.
I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO A PERSON, LESS A LARGE FAMILY.

It has a very good location, the food is very good and varied.
I like the extended hours of the disco and the beach bar, where Omar preparing drinks gives a good show, good mixes, he knows how to make clients relax and have fun, Sarai is very good too, the drinks are very balanced.
The Piccolo restaurant is very good and Cruz takes the service to another level, the pasta is just right and has a perfect flavor.

Mariana, is your top employee, she was amazing and worked her very hardest to include everyone in all the activities. She made our holiday that much more fun! Thank you Mariana!

Excellent staff, bad food and terrible facilities.

I would like to share some of my thoughts regarding this vacation and will be as pros and cons.
Pros: staff is very friendly, they always smile and try to be helpful.
The resort is located a bit far from the city, and this makes the beach quite a pleasant place. Not very crowded, you can find an umbrella almost everytime.
Rooms and amenities, pools and everything else is very clean.
The staff is working very hard to maintain this place as decent as possible.
If you’re looking for something different than Cancun, where staff is always willing to help without expecting any tips, this is the place.
Many swimming pools for all the ages, never crowded.
The beach is quite large, water is not very deep, I would say is even better than Cancun.
Cons:
Outdated rooms, no fridges in the rooms, no coffee makers, irons.
The doors are not great, and that lets a lot of noise coming in, hard to have an afternoon nap, especially if you have a toddler. There’s always staff working and making a lot of noise. They cary some sort of walkie-talkies, always noise.
Food is mediocre, similar with what we’ve found in Cuba. Not a great variety, but is kinda expected for a 3 star resort.
Wi-fi is poor and it’s not working in the rooms, I would strongly recommend you to get a sim card if you really need connectivity.
There’s only a few smoking areas in the resort and they are not even clearly marked, and you can’t really smoke anywhere else as they have a ton of security everywhere.
Hot water in the showers is more like warm water.
In our room, the sink was broken, we didn’t have cold water running. Taps are old and rusty.
As i final thought, this was a decent experience, but I don’t think I would come back again for 2 main reasons: poor food quality and lack of internet.

For the price we actually expected more and I have been lucky enough to visit other complexes on some other beaches and they have never charged me for entering before a time to use the facilities when checking in and it is the first time that apart of the lodging cost I have to pay extra to start using the facilities

It was a good experience. A place to relax in front of the sun. The place and the guests are quiet. Many people are already retired and few are children. It's a huge place.

I have already been twice and I will go again this summer, a very nice and familiar hotel, the beach is very comfortable, the staff is friendly, the shows at night are good

Very nice beach and landscaping. Rooms do not have mini fridges or full mirrors. I was surprised there was no blended drinks at any dinners or a la cartes. The a la carte dinners reservations are horrible. You need to wake up at every morning at 8am to maybe get a spot. Food at the buffets were not great but they were almost better than the a la carte. The night show performances were amazing. Very good. If you are looking for a younger crowd this will not be it. We went during spring break and it was all elderly people so expect a mellow relaxing vacation.

It had been 10 years since our last stay here. Love the resort style and colourful buildings. Yes, it is an older resort that needs some upgrades which we understand are beginning to happen. Our room was dated but very clean and bed was comfortable. A/C is nearing it's life cycle as was quite noisy when sitting on the balcony (easy fix - just turned it off). Check-in process was easy (although a bit of language barrier as we asked if we could upgrade our room and pay more but staff didn't seem to understand so we eventually just dropped it). Food was quite good at the buffets - some people complain about everything but overall we felt the food was good and suited our needs (we didn't have to cook for 10 days). A la carte restaurants were all very good. The booking of an a la carte is always a complaint of many people but not sure what the answer is. It's a problem at every resort and there never seems to be an easy solution. We booked our sittings through the QR code supplied and had very good success. Staff were excellent. Everyone always had a smile and were eager to assist if you had a question. We spent most of our time on the beach as the sand and ocean views are beautiful. Unfortunately people are just greedy as many people would reserve chairs early in the morning and then never show up to use them so. Possibly adding more palapos and chairs would help as there is room on the beach for more. Walked up the street to the Chedraui and purchased blow-up air mattress for 79 pesos. Need these as the loungers are quite uncomfortable. Overall, our stay was awesome and we would/will go back again.

Dinner booking system needs to be improved. Drink options at dinner and all meals need to be expanded.

very good service, everyone here serves you kindly and always smiling 😃

Spectacular facilities, rooms, service, food and drinks.
Totally recommended.

Very basic room but they have a balcony, our stay was three days, but they only gave us a bathing kit once, and they only gave us a roll of paper, we had to ask for an extra one, the facilities, the restaurants and the pools are nice, There are only 2 areas to smoke, the food and the bars are good, but the shows leave a lot to be desired, the disco is disastrous, super boring, the music is horrible and outdated, and the lights are for decoration, they only turn on a sphere that looks like little Christmas lights hahaha, in the beach area you have to reserve a lounge chair very early, because practically all the foreigners occupy them, the staff is very friendly in each of their areas, as a recommendation they have to put more enthusiasm into the show and change the DJ at the disco, and using the moving heads that are only for decoration, after a short while they make people start to withdraw from the boring

Pros:
Good pretty and cheap.
Variety of drinks.
Good deal.
Nice beach (win a lounge chair very early)
Location

Against:
Room with the smell of too much chlorine.
There is no variety of food at breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Little availability in specialty restaurants and only on weekends.
Old facilities.
Too much noise in the early mornings.
