It is a hotel that for what it charges is already old and poorly maintained. They give a lot of preference to foreign tourists and neglect Mexican tourists.

The hotel in general everything is in. Order, drinks, attention and activities, I thank the entertainers Alondra, Cristian and Montse from the entertainment team

Great breezy beach. Nice upper adult pool.Terrific food. Helpful service.
Only negative was the lower pools heavy bass "music " during some of the day. Really? What happened to Latin music in Mexico?

Alondra's activities and the entertainment staff were very good. An unforgettable trip, entertainment, relaxation and very good food.

Overall, I was satisfied with my stay. Can't complain for the price. The main thing is that the Wifi connection is horrible! You would get 1-2 bars at most for signal anywhere around the resort and it made loading texts, TikTok, FB and anything unbearable. I decided to pay for Roaming as I wanted to stay connected to friends/family. If you're looking to disconnect completely then this is the place for you.

I will reiterate the main pros and cons for you to decide if this is the resort for you.

Pros:
- Greeted with drinks upon arrival, check in was smooth with a 226 peso resort fee (2 people for 1 week)
- Friendly staff for the most part (Fortino, Yulisa, Lino, Cruz, and Antonio were amazing!!)
- AC in rooms
- Food variety (similar food items, but they did try to switch up the cooking style with different themed nights)
- Not many people staying at the resort (even with a 60% capacity, it was not busy)
- Lots of lounging spaces in the pool area
- Entertainment at night such as bands or performances
- Free bottled water (1 massive 2L? bottle per day)
-Clean public spaces (people were always cleaning, mopping, wiping things down around resort even though there was no mess)
- Lots of fresh fruit (only for breakfast)
- Amazing juices (papaya, watermelon, melon, green juice, pineapple, orange)
- Buffet opens 11-1am with snacks incase you're hungry
- Close to supermarkets
- Can exchange big peso bills for smaller ones at reception
- Free photos with their photographer (desk across from reception)
- Many shaded and unshaded areas to lounge around near pool
-Volleyball net in pool, swim up bar, wading pool (no jacuzzi)
- Foreign currency exchange at reception

Cons:
- HORRIBLE wifi (not much they can do to fix this for you)
- Warm food (lamps to heat food are placed high so the food is lukewarm, except the soup in the heated metal pots)
- Only 4 beach umbrella's placed around main pool (always taken before 10am) and people will leave their towels on the chairs under and go eat/explore.
- Shower itself does not have a door and is across the toilet, so the floor gets wet easily (did not have a floor mat/towel when we arrived, so we used our own)
- No drinks in mini fridge
- Only 1 bar (pool bar) is open during the day, other bars open later at night
- Restaurant food at Luna is the SAME (menu does not change) (although you can request for them to make specific things with given ingredients)
- NO room service
- Cannot take any of the food to the pool areas from the restaurants (so bring your own containers or paper/plastic plates if you want to bring food there to eat by the pool or back into your room)
- We brought instant cup noodles and they did not want to lend us the metal utensils and did not have plastic cutlery (bring your own)
- Hyatt next door is super loud (their bass will make your room shake) if you're on the side close to them and they have DJs on the beach during the day
- Thin walls (could hear my neighbours outside talking or people upstairs walking so it was hard to sleep at times).
- TV quality is like 10 pixels and the programs appear like they're from the 90s- a few English channels (can't stream shows)
- Laundry charges are PER item ($5 for a hoodie, etc.)
- Birds around food areas and will sit near you to eat your food

Things to keep in mind:
- Do NOT swim in the ocean. The waves will literally take you out. You can hear the loud rumbling noises at night and during the day
- Once they cut your wristband at 12pm checkout- you CANNOT go anywhere besides the lobby so if you plan to wait there for your shuttl/ pickup, grab a drink before and eat prior. They charge around $6 CAD per hour if you choose to extend your stay for a couple of hours- which is not bad. However, you can't go back to your room- only use the facilities and the beach.
- LOTS of mosquitos so bring spray and don't leave your room or patio door open
-Vendors are located along the beach for massages, hair braiding and accessories (quite steep in prices)
- I used pesos for tipping and for all my purchases

Gracias Cristian por la excelente clase de YOGA en área de la piscina. El hotel es bonito. El mar hermoso. Es muy relajante. Y, al equipo de entrenamiento; me gustó que hay música por las noches.

En general, el personal es muy trabajador.

The staff that served us at the buffet were great. For Breakfast, our server was Lino and Beatriz was a really nice person who introduced herself to us. For dinner, our server was Ernesto. Thank you.

I’ve been meaning to take my daughter to a Yoga class, and we loved our class with CRISTIAN. It was relaxing, and our bodies needed to stretch. Thank you to all the staff, very hardworking people.

Breakfast at the buffet:
The omelet was delicious, but I got it when the line was short.
I like their fruit selection.

For lunch: we would go to the Luna restaurant by the beach. Our kids loved the French fries. I don’t recommend the pizza. The cheese, red sauce and pepperoni is different. I recommend their delicious chicken vegetable soup. I tried and liked their Mediterranean poke bowl, their ceviche, the chicken enrollado (Chicken wrap), their tostadas de tinga.

For dinner at the buffet:
I loved all their soups, so thank you. I liked their small but delicious desserts because it’s hard to make room for dessert.

Tuesday was Mexican food. I liked their refried beans for my kids.

Wednesday was Asian food. I liked their grilled chicken and fried rice.

Thursday was Italian food. I was not a fan of their pasta, but I liked the Cesar salad.

Friday was Sea food day, and we loved it all.

Entertainment:
I liked their Selena show by Queens Cabo on Thursday April 6th and the rock band show on Tuesday April 5th.

Rooms:
They are not the most renovated, but I loved their patio. We had an awesome view of the stars with a glass of wine. We also requested a large bed instead of two double beds, and it was comfortable.

Pools:
We loved swimming and the activities: water aerobics.

I loved the buffet since I am a Colombian who loves Mexican food and I was able to serve myself chilaquiles every day for breakfast. The nights at the buffet are themed. I was on Mexican night, Italian night, seafood night, Asian night, and even so on each of the nights they left a small corner with some Mexican dish like flautas to enjoy.

We went to the Luna restaurant but we didn't really like the Mediterranean menu they serve for dinner, it is better during the day when it works as a snack restaurant.

The highly recommended strawberry and mango margaritas are slushies

The only bad thing was that it took longer than stipulated to deliver our room.

Near the hotel there is an oxxo, a pharmacy, offices of cabo adventures and its dolphin center, a small shopping center that has a la comer which is a supermarket where you can find souvenirs much cheaper than what they sell in the center of san jose del cabo

The pool should be heated since we had to go into the children's pool which was semi-warm, they need a couple of hot jacuzzis for how cold it is. We were there the last week of March and instead of shorts we had to wear pants and a jacket at night so we could go to dinner.

I truly enjoyed my stay. When we arrived the gal working the front door knew who I was right away and was very welcoming. Checking in was no issue. Our room wasn’t ready as we arrived early but they were so kind to take our bags. They did give us our wrist bands early so we could eat, lounge and use the pool. The resort was calm and quiet. The food was delicious for the price we paid to stay, the drinks were the same. However if you’re looking for a strong drink this isn’t the place for you. I would stay again.

Very good service and attention from the staff in rooms, restaurants and activities, it is a beautiful and very comfortable place to rest.
The activities and entertainers are excellent, Monse and Cristian excellent activities 👍

Would give this place 0 stars. From the beginning there was huge miscommunication between Expedia and the hotel in which the hotel blamed us and said we are lying. They made us pay an extra $2000 (USD) to add a third person to a four person room. Juan at the front desk is absolutely insufferable and told us we should lose the $5000 on the hotel and go somewhere else, or just go back to the United States! When I asked for a refund he said “Nope.” We asked for a manager and the man Juan brought out ended up being security, who refused to speak with us. Then, the security, bell boy, and front desk staff decided to all start telling us we were wrong and that they will refuse to help. Got an appointment with the real manager the next day in which we realized Juan had lied to us about talking to the manager, and still the manager refused to mitigate the situation. Juan then gave us two separate rooms without telling us and made us go in circles around the place confused why we couldn’t get in our room. He also failed to explain the property, reservations, and that you need a QR code to access the internet. We went almost 6 days without any of those services. I would have rather stayed in a motel than dealt with such awful customer service. Furthermore the restaurant staff was rude, had one server at the sit down restaurant that refused to speak to us. We asked for an espresso martini and he brought cold espresso shots with water. Asked for a michelada and he brought a plain beer without explaining that they had no other drinks. Another staff member at the buffet told a group of us that we would be fat if we kept eating the way we were. The house cleaner came one single time in an entire week. They consistently had no towels or cups for drinks at the pool. The club was the size of a bedroom and full of creepy middle aged men that would follow underage boys around trying to slip them drugs. Overall, worst hotel I have stayed at in the entire world, save yourself and go to the Riu.

Wonderful experience here, great service, generally quiet with great service, amenities and beautiful beach.

Juan at the front desk, Beatriz and Oscar as service and Antonio at the front were fantastic!

I would highly recommend!

"The most truthful review on Royal Decameron Los Cabos"

My wife and I are well travelled Canadians with a taste for anything Mexico.

We arrived here yesterday and here are our thoughts so far.

1. The restaurant and the buffet are beautiful but 100% you will be eating cold food. The reason why is the Kitchen team is very small and they prepare all of the food for the guests well before the doors open. This is quite unfortunate because even with the cold food, the flavours are delicious, especially the breads.

2. The staff everywhere except for the beach restaurant are genuine and offer great service. The grumpy old guys at the beach restaurant don't offer you any attention unless your a gorgeous 19 year old female wearing a bikini or if you start flashing cash.

3. Rooms are dated but very clean. It is obvious that this hotel doesn't reach max capacity often as I feel that the hotel common area need a deep cleaning session and maybe some paint mirrors are decaying and pottery is in poor shape.

4. The adults only area is a hidden oasis with great bartending staff. Drinks are fantastic and the pool is probably 10 degrees warmer than the lower ones.

5. Entertainment at 9 pm is fantastic if you love live music Tonight a band played Selena songs.

6. Hyatt Ziva is next door and if you are on the east side of the resort you are subjected to a lot of music with very intense bass early in the morning.

If you stay here you and want to leave the resort have a great mall with a ton of little restaurants nearby 2 grocery stores nearby and a few pharmacies. Half an hour walk to Centro or a 10 minute cab ride.

Overall if you are used to staying at a 5 star high-end property and this is what you prefer, this is not the location for you. If you are budget conscious and want a great QUiET vibe, then I highly encourage you to stay here.

Cabo has stolen my heart! This place is one to check off the bucket list. The activities everyday have made spending each day by the pool entertaining, Monse & Alandro are two radiant balls of energy and know how to make people in the resort have most amazing time during activities. They know how to keep a crowd going. The staff is very attentive and friendly. 100% will be back again. ♥️

I was here with a group of people. Arriving at different times.
My experience at this hotel is one to remember, NOT in a good way. This was the Spirit Airlines of resorts.

Here are my cons for this establishment.

No drink greeting upon arrival at hotel.
Part of the group arrived earlier than I did, and I received a room #, but wasn’t ready. However, at 3pm when the rooms should have been ready, they weren’t, until the group asked for a manager, then all of a sudden rooms were ready and available.
Rooms are dusty, outdated, water spots on the sink and glass shower door, lights dim, some lights out. The AC unit was dusty and hasn’t been cleaned (what looks like never) and has what looks like black mold.
There are only 2 restaurants. 1 you can only make reservations for the day of, and the menu is limited.
The buffet: all 3 meals were always cold. Breakfast and 1 day of lunch was decent, but better if it was hot.
Can’t leave the restaurants with food. No room service.
Only pool yoga for activities.
No bar in room.
The drinks watered down; no staff knew how to make a drink. i.e: a choc martini was made with chocolate syrup.
The pool needed maintenance.
Went off resort for night out and came back to a dark lobby and a staff member awaiting or arrival, just to let us know its after hours and to keep our voices down when walking to our rooms.
One elevator to / from lobby to resort floor, so had to carry my luggage upstairs when departing.
Our beds were made once, for the 4 days stay we had.
One room key
Wasn’t advised of the free offers the hotel provided. 2 pics

Here are the pros:

Bellhop, Alejandro was friendly, informative, and helpful.
Night entertainment
Friendly Staff
Cactus tours for ATV
Sunshine Adventures boat tour (5 stars)

Great customer service, buffet restaurant is delicious. Just need a little more activities for kids if possible

So! I just got back from my bachelorette party here and it was 15 of us ranging from the ages of 29 to 63. We stayed 4 days and immediately found out this was NOT IT!

We are a fun bunch and make the best out of everything and we really had to at this resort. My maid of honor did a lot of research prior to making the decision of booking this resort for the group. All of the reviews on Google, cheap Caribbean, and yelp had great ratings of a 4.5 star resort.

This is NOT the truth. The resort at best is a two star resort.

If you are looking for daytime activities such as, entertainment by the resort like shows, pool games, bingo etc. Music during the day while lounging around the pool. This is NOT IT!

If you are wanting nightlife entertainment with a great DJ and great crowd to party with. THIS IS NOT IT!

If you are wanting delicious HOT, edible, non stale food options at the buffet and at the restaurant you had to make a reservation for. THIS IS NOT IT!

If you want quick access to your room with ease not having to worry about getting locked out in the sun for an hour and requiring maintenance to break in through your balcony and replace the entire door lock. THIS IS NOT IT!

If you want to venture out and enjoy the city’s nightlife and come back to lights on in the lobby upon your return and not have to walk in the dark. THIS IS NOT IT!

If you would like to be told information at check in such as everyone gets a photo shoot and 1 free photo with each room booked. THIS IS NOT IT.

If you would like to receive washcloths daily even after putting in several request without having to fight for your life for them. THIS IS NOT IT.

If you would like the staff to listen while you give them your drink order and not walk away mid sentence, every single time at breakfast. You have probably guessed it by now but, THIS IS NOT IT!

If you would like a spotless room after maid service has cleaned and get fresh coffee cups replaced in your room. THIS IS NOT IT!

If you want to request more than 1 water bottle per room even with multiple guest, as well as only 1 key per room. THIS IS NOT IT!

If you want to request a reservation for the restaurant a day or so in advance or wake up at the crack of dawn to do so and expect a reservation. THIS IS NOT IT!

I definitely would not recommend this resort to anyone I know. Unless you would like to be hungry all of the time, not listened to, bored, feeling like you have a curfew, then this is the place for you.

#THISISNOTIT

Location good. But this resort is the worst one on the strip! Much better resorts in the area. The food was awful, uneatable and I had to eat off resort in order to have a good meal. Katalina at the spa is also super rude and unprofessional I caught her making videos of me which she did NOT have my permission for. Also had to call for room services on numerous occasions due to the room being unkept. The room had a leak on arrival, the shower doesn't drain and floods the bathroom and the back door doesn't close properly, feeling very unsafe leaving my things unattended. Would not recommend!!!

We had an amazing time at the Royal Decameron All inclusive resort! Was our first time in Mexico. San José Del Cabo downtown is just a 40 minute walk from.the resort, everyone is so nice and kind here. *This is a smaller resort*
The service was phenomenal!
Working the front doors Cruze (Tom Cruze) fantastic man, fantastic service, we became good friends with him he gave us a lot of info on the area around the resort when we asked him about places to see.
Julio at the buffet; best waiter we had at the buffet every time. He was fantastic. And always made sure we had our drinks. And that the area was clean with a great smile always greeting us every time he saw us in the resort.
José the life guard, what an amazing guy! Made us feel safe on the beach with the waves when we asked him about the ocean or mexico area or anything he answered us and we had a great time chatting with him.
Sadly the food at the buffet sometimes was too Salty. Breakfast was phenomenal every day! Wish the resort had another restaurant on sight. (Only had one restaurant LUNA and the buffet) restaurant was lovely and good very fresh.
I would recommend the resort the hospitality was lovely and the service.

If you are Mexican, I recommend NOT staying at this hotel, the waiters are super rude, on one occasion they did not come to serve us at the table. Everything wrong, I won't return, I want a refund

Just dont stay here. I stayed here back in late August and had a horrible experience. The hotel didnt state it was under construction so basically everything but ONE restaurant was closed. The food wasnt bad but after going into the third day it got repetitive... I paid for an all inclusive stay, but it was anything but. We had to get food off the hotel which is fine, but its the principle. After the second day we were over and left to go to a different hotel. We stayed 2 of the 4 nights and they never offer to make things right or refund me my money back. I submitted a refund request...you think anyone got back to me ? NOPE. The staff was lovely though

UPDATED 3/13: You dont have documentation showing I left early? I had to complete a whole form before I left. I have already complained about this matter and customer service has been no help. We stayed for two days and left to go to NOBU
