We stayed here For 4 nights, mid April. The location is great. Rooms are little dated but that was ok cos the beach view and access was great. What was BAD experience was the checkin. The person who checked us in did not explain the amenities of the resort. Just handed us a paper and told us to read it ourselves. Did not validate us for self parking and did not explain parking details. Did not provide the coupon that will give the welcome bag. For each of these we had to go multiple times to front desk, which is always busy. RESORT HAS TO TRAIN ALL FRONT DESK EMPLOYEES TO EXPLAIN THE GUEST THE AMENITIES. WE ARE PAYING THE ADDITIONAL RESORT FEE FOR THIS PURPOSE. We never realized how bad our checkin person was until we heard some other employee taking time to beautifully explain all details while we were waiting for check out. Unfortunately i did not catch the name of person who checked us in but it was someone wearing round glasses. We found this disappointing as we could have used some resort amenities if they were explained in detail and would also save time rather than waiting in line each time at front desk

People in the country are doing well. ㄴ ㅓmu old ㅇ ㅏㅆ ㅓ. really. Seoㅂ ㅣSuddo is also superㅣaak. Cleaning and towels are also provided. Ooh, I just like it~

We visited there Jan/Feb 2024. This hotel is by far the most elegant on Oahu. The landscape and shops are so well maintained it’s like a picture. The bakery shop is the best on the island. The chef is a true master of his trade. Everything there is picture perfect and the taste always makes you want to go back for more. The staff is insanely attentive, especially Lawerence. Of all the years and places we have travelled, Lawerence is by far the most professional, courteous and gracious host. We have never met someone more accommodating than Lawerence. We were lucky enough to attend the anniversary celebration of the hotels first guests back in 1927. The master of ceremonies spoke of the incredible history of the hotel and it was nothing short of amazing. The decorations and entertainment were fantastic. This should be everyone’s destination hotel when visiting Oahu.

the service was amazing and the workers were extremely friendly and helpful. they all seemed enthusiastic and well knowledgeable about the hotel and also knew some cool facts about hawaii.

Great location pretty grounds. Beyond that not much. Dull boring rooms fair service at best. Seems really out of date. For the price there are better hotels.

Beautiful historic hotel and location highly recommend!

Our favorite Hotel in Waikiki stayed many times quaint / cozy best beach out front. Close to many restaurants expensive or reasonable all within walking distance. Love it there.

We didn’t stay here but the interior is really interesting!

Beds are small for a family of four. Stains on furniture. No in room dining. Slider door to the balcony is difficult to slide (feels damaged). Not sure why this hotel has 4.5 stars.

Onsite bar Mai Tai - live up to its name. The Mai Tai is the best I have ever had.

NOT A 5-STAR HOTEL!

Service? What service? I barely spoke to anyone who worked here during my stay - not even a casual Aloha - except when I went up to someone for a question. And when I went up to an employee for a question (on multiple occasions) they directed me to talk to someone else. Like when I went up to the concierge for a 5-second question, and the concierge told me before I was able to ask the question that she was closing. Or, when I requested a bottle of water at the front desk and was told that only room attendants can provide additional bottles of water, and reluctantly went to the back and got me one anyway. Or, when I asked for toast to accompany my egg breakfast and they said that it was not covered with my free breakfast per day card and we agreed to mark my 4-free-breakfasts card as if I had two breakfast meals instead of one (because plain toast is special?)

A theme at the hotel was long lines and wait times: Long lines to check in, long lines to order at the bakery, and long lines to get into Mai tai bar restaurant. Perhaps the resort is not sufficiently staffed for the amount of guests. And it’s not quite peak tourist season yet!

While the hotel property is beautiful and is in a great location, guest rooms leave much to be desired and have tiny bathrooms. I was upgraded to a suite and wondered if a regular room would be better. The pool is also tiny in general but especially for the size of the property and amount of guests. Note, the hot tub/pool close early.

I splurged on this resort and am very disappointed.

But the guys at the Mai tai bar were nice !

We had an amazing experience here. Everywhere you turn there was another team member ready to help you. They worked so hard and went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable stay. The food was delicious and the beach was fantastic.

The hotel is located in a very convenient and central location.

The rooms were excellent and exceeded our expectations. The views from our tower room were gorgeous.

Tip for the beach if you want to rent chairs/umbrellas: The beach chairs/umbrellas you can book online are the back rows of chairs. The front rows of chairs can be booked each morning on the day you want them. I think the line for the front would start to form around 30 minutes before the staff arrive. So grab a coffee and pastry at the bakery on your way there. They will walk you to pick your seats and then you can return after breakfast.

There is also at least one hospitality suite to be booked in advance. I believe it is booked in 1 hour increments. It was refreshing to shower up and change at the end of the day before heading to the airport.

The historic and very beautiful hotel is in a prime location right on the first line of Waikiki Beach. The location is therefore perfect.

Due to its age, the building has a lot of charm, but unfortunately investments have apparently been missed. The rooms are accordingly old and noisy. The window was leaking, the door to the corridor had zero soundproofing. You can hear everyone walking past or talking in the hallway, which means you definitely won't be able to sleep after about 7 a.m.

We will only come back once the building has undergone a thorough renovation. I also hate the inhospitable practice of charging a mandatory resort fee - just stop it. The sun loungers also cost between $70 - $100. Which is absolutely incomprehensible to us.

All in all: There is a lot of potential, but a lot of it lies unused - a shame.

Only went to Mai Tai bar, but still my favorite hotel.

Should pay more attention to detail. For $750 a night and drinks around $20. Surely someone can dust off the lights and the fans at the Mai Tai Bar. Embarrassing.

The singer will put you to sleep. Bring your kids they will pass out fast

First time back in over 20 years. I dearly love this property, having so much history and charm. My only suggestion would be for them to add early morning coffee service in the lobby. Otherwise top tier and highly recommended regardless!

It's a wonderful hotel after all!
Accommodations are taxed, so they can be quite expensive, but resort hotels are the best way to spend time in Waikiki. We had a relaxing time. It's nice to be able to use the Sheraton pool as well.

Wonderful experience. I am thrilled and proud to say my grandfather built those walls for everyone's enjoyment. Can't wait to go back. Mahalo.

Just a beautiful place with amazing staff

Mai Tai Bar. Order a mai tai or pink palace. Won’t disappoint!
