4.2 - 2068 Reviews
Saint Lucia, Saint Lucia
The true Emerald of the Caribbean. Set on an enchanting tropical isle and surrounded by the sparkling Caribbean Sea, this resort is a heavenly retreat for lovers. It's decidedly sophisticated yet undeniably fun. With 210 lush acres of expansive grounds, and on a dramatic half-mile crescent shaped beach, Sandals Regency La Toc Golf Resort and Spa offers a host of impressive features.
Location: Directly on the beach, 1.5 hour drive from Hewanorra International Airport or a 10 minute drive from Vigie Airport Castries.
Our Opnion

Set on a hill overlooking the ocean, Sandals Regency La Toc features beautiful suites which offer amazing views but can be far from the main restaurant and beach. I guess to make up for this some of the rooms offer butler service. This resort is ideal for golfers as there is a 9 hole golf course on site. A great, quiet and relaxing atmosphere which is great for couples. Excellent service as is customary at all Sandals Resorts.

Horrible partnership with "Island Routes". Quick to take your money in advance for activities. Booked and prepaid round trip helicopter transfer to avoid a 90 minute ride with my fiancé to the resort. Arrived at 3 PM and said they were only running one helicopter, and there were no options to adjust and to just get a refund. Super embarrassing to time your travel around something that cost $500 up front one way and not uphold a contract. Instructed to take the shuttle with a bunch of other people. Over promise and under deliver. Don't expect Sandals to do something to make any kind of inconvenience better because they won't. We have stayed at 5 Sandals plus this one. We will not be back here. Trash.

We had a good vacation overall but other Sandals were better, this location did not felt luxury or 5 star

Excellent experience with Sandals! Customer service was A+, every employee you encounter will go above and beyond to ensure you have an excellent experience. Extra bonus is being able to visit the other two resorts using the shuttle.

My partner and I were gobsmacked we could be treated so badly after paying thousands.

We almost missed our flight home because reception mixed up transfer times, and when we confronted them about this they wouldn’t even apologise. We politely suggested they let other guests know the correct times, and the receptionist rudely blurted “it’s fine”, looked back at their computer and ignored us.

When visiting Halcyon, staff regularly came up to us and offered to bring drinks. At La Toc, the only way to get this was by tipping the staff. On one occasion my partner waited while the barman ignored him, but served a young woman first as soon as she arrived.

The pool was immaculate, and the beach was lovely. Our room was dusty and the showers were grotty (see the grouting in the attached photo… that’s supposed to be white!)

Food was mediocre. Salmon was always overcooked and the Italian restaurant’s “signature dish” was just breaded chicken. Kelly’s and Gordon’s are an exception to this, the staff were friendlier and food was exquisite.

Some members of staff were completely outstanding. Charles, Shelaura, Joan, and Prudy are the only reason we would consider coming back here. Each of them made us feel at home and were passionate about the service they provided. If everyone were as good as they were, we would be coming back every year!

This resort was everything we could have hoped for our honeymoon and more. Worth EVERY penny. The poolside room was quite loud during the day but we were rarely in the room. Keison was our favorite employee- he was so kind, funny and helpful. Would recommend and would go back!

Overall, my fiancé and I had a good honeymoon experience at Sandals Regency La Toc, but there were definitely some hiccups. We absolutely adored all of our butlers, they were very courteous, kind, and professional. Delia, Barkus and Gilbert all made our experience memorable. The room was very nice, and very clean, the overall convenience of having everything we needed at our finger tips was phenomenal, and of course the resort was very beautiful. However, not everything felt luxurious. Some of the food was great, but there were a lot of let downs. Several restaurants sent us food that was still partially frozen, and even though there were 7 restaurants, we were still quite tired of it all by the end. The cocktails were way too sugary and felt like they gave us almost no alcohol. The beaches were way too choppy and rocky to enjoy swimming or any of the water sports offered, and there were random local kids with a pack of dogs roaming the beach several days. The final inconvenience was a drunk employee that came back to the karaoke bar while he was off that made some incredibly rude comments to my husband and ruined the last night of our honeymoon. Not sure if we will be doing Sandals again, but the overall convenience was nice.

Sandles is a 5* place to come and have a holiday, st lucia is amazing, location, staff are great, it's an out of this world experience

Sandals La Toc is a wonderful resort, with the right balance of activities and relaxation. We traveled with a group of 12 and were able to coordinate a dinner all together and photo session prior to arriving which was convenient. We are already planning to return! All of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly but I remember Travis the best concierge, Danielle at the front desk, and Marvel at the gift shop especially went the extra mile to make our first Sandals experience memorable.

Read on reviews we could get a day pass for $100 us. 4 of us were staying next door at a villa. I have stayed at Sandals St Lucia before. So we planned to go to sandals la toc St Lucia for the day. It took me two days to get through as their phones were temporarily out of service.
When I did get through I was told their rates for a day pass had gone up to $200 U.S. for a day. So I suggest you update your rates. Instead we went to Vigie beach. We met the most amazing locals there. So much better than sandals.
PLEASE UPDATE YOUR website!!!!!

Staff is very friendly! Food is so-so with the exception for a few of the restaurants…which are difficult to get a reservation for, only to get there and see a restaurant half empty. Resort is definitely an older property so if I come back to sandals I’d definitely do a new resort. Drinks are also hit or miss. Room towels were not restocked consistently, as we had to call and ask for them more than once. Bed sheets are not changed unless you ask. We also ordered room service one evening in which it never arrived! Pool looked grimy towards the end of our stay, coated with greasy sunblock and debris. We took a shuttle to the Halcyon one evening and it’s a much nicer place all around!

At La toc there’s people on the beach (not a part of sandals) heckling you about purchasing tours. We did do the horse back riding through the resort and I recommend you do NOT book this unless you are experienced with horses! The horses were malnourished looking and aggressive. There were also people working for the horse stable drunk and arguing on the beach in front of the entire tour group. For the amount of money sandals charges, as a whole they can do better! We still had a great time, but recommend a newer property.

We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Sandals Regency La Toc for our 25th anniversary. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Charles. He went out of his way for us. He was exceptional. The room was spacious and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The food was good, with a wide variety of options to choose from. The location of the hotel was beautiful and serene. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay.

We have just returned home from a lovely holiday at La Toc. When we arrived we luckily received a room upgrade, this made the holiday even more special. The staff were all so friendly and helpful especially Travis who was great. The restaurants were all good with efficient service. Our only issue was the lack of available sun beds and seating in shaded areas. We would love to return to La Toc in the future.

If you’ve already booked this trip and are reading reviews to prepare, you’re going to have a great time! Sandals is a great inclusive vacation company and you’re there with your love with so many fun memories to be made. Go in with a positive mindset and you’ll enjoy yourself at this resort and we certainly did! That being said, if you haven’t booked yet, I’ll give some reasons you may want to consider another Sandals location (we have done 4). If I could do it again we would've stayed at the Grande and come on the inter-resort shuttle to La Toc for a day visit.
Positives: La Toc has incredible views with tons of photo opportunities and breathtaking sunsets. The staff (like all Sandals) are awesome, friendly, happy to please and help, and the other couples you’ll meet from all over the world are kind, approachable, and happy to make friends. Everyone’s in a good mood! The entertainment at this location blew us away- so much talent that honestly could have been at a Vegas show or a paid concert, and the performers are infectiously happy to make your night memorable with music or dancing. The main pool entertainment is done in shifts so there’s plenty of quieter hours where everyone’s just chilling out enjoying the day. The landscaping is very well maintained and there’s excellent poolside service even without butler rooms!
Negatives:
The running joke among the 10+ couples we talked to is that you have to wake up at 7 am to fight over pool chairs. This resort doesn’t seem to logistically support the amount of guests in multiple ways. There’s not enough poolside seating, one day at 1 pm there were no extra towels at all, the restaurants have long waits of an hour or so during desirable eating times. There are only a few dinner options and they are always filled days out with reservations or are randomly closed on weekdays. It’s an all inclusive- you should be able to reasonably pick anywhere for dinner, walk in and eat! My husband and I are fit and enjoy taking long walks and stayed in Ocean Bluff Suites. The singular narrow paved path to get from one end of the resort to the other is a bit of a miserable walk. It’s shared with all the butler golf carts and shuttles which are driving by you every couple minutes. You’re unable to avoid getting in the way of a vehicle or navigating the steep asphalt slopes (it literally is uphill both ways!) in cute resort shoes. We are baffled as to why they haven’t made a scenic pedestrian only path. Forgot something in your room on the way to dinner or the pool? It’s a half hour mistake walking or waiting for the shuttle. The facilities are tired if you look closely- everywhere could use a cleanup. Our bathroom was genuinely disappointing. We physically could both not fit in there to get ready or brush teeth at the same time. The slatted door left zero privacy & the single showerhead/decades old jets situation didn’t feel romantic or glamorous. They should be more forthcoming that this resort essentially doesn’t have a beach anymore. The tide on a calm day reaches the seawall. Couples were constantly told to stop going in the water- it was a red flag every single day and I doubt anyone’s enjoyed the resort’s free water sports offerings in some time. The food is a tricky one because we had some genuinely delicious things at random and were totally unimpressed by a lot of it. I would say to order multiple things, have expectation management and you may get a winner every once in a while. The incredible quality of the sushi and the appetizers at La Toc had us baffled. Clearly they can produce exceptional fresh and complex flavored food, so why is it so inconsistent all over the resort?
I’ll end with the much-discussed transit situation. Bottom line is most people will be just fine. But if you have a sensitive stomach or carsickness, you’re going to have a rough time regardless of how you go- I ended up getting sick on the side of the road even from a private car. Overall we enjoyed our trip but can't say we'd recommend this location above other Sandals' we've done. Consider the Grande!

Enjoyed this resort a lot. First time at a Sandals. Already booked 2 more Sandals trips. And yes, we are returning to LaToc. Loved the whole place. Restaurants were great. Didn't eat at the French restaurant because they required pants and I didn't bring any. Beach was awesome. Good snorkeling over the reef there. Bars were excellent. My only knock was The Pub didn't have Shepherds pie anymore. After I heard they had it, I was really looking forward to it. We also went to another Sandals for a visit. Enjoyed the beach at the Grand. Looking forward to our return in 2 years.

Very beautiful resort. Pools were beautiful. The beach was amazing. The grounds were a tropical paradise. Truly spectacular. Food and drink was awesome. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Would recommend.

I enjoyed everything, from the people to the lodging. We stayed at Sandals and also went to the volcano where we did the sulfur bath. A few things to be ready for: driving on the opposite sides of the road, the rodes are the size of a 2 car driveway, and they go FAST! I would definitely recommend this as your next vacation

My boyfriend and I visited in February to celebrate our birthdays along with our two friends. We had an exceptional time there. I tried to write a separate review for each of the wonderful people there who made such a great trip the BEST! (TripAdvisor didn't let me add more than one review or edit the one I wrote, so here I am now to share my thanks for EVERYONE). In addition to Nehemiah our tour guide and fabulous activities coordinator, who got the glowing review on TripAdvisor - the future is all yours!!!! I would also like to shout out the below beautiful humans!!!!

Sending my greatest appreciation to Daniel, John, and Joan who always provided the best beverages and constant laughter at the swimupp bar. Daniel, thank you for the recommendation to come bak for Criole festival in October. Already looking forward to coming back to celebrate that!!! Cato and Isha thank you for the lovely drinks at the main bar by the pool!!! And Nigel, in Cricketers, I'm sorry we sat down before getting assigned a table in the library area. Thank you for taking such great care of us!!!!

Additionally, major gratitude for Wendy my reminder that I was on vacation and homework was important, but vacation was too!!! Your smile and kindness were just what I needed to recognize I needed to chill!!!! Thank you for taking us on the night snorkel, helping us get PADI scuba and open water, and getting "wheels on the bus" stuck in my head!!!!

Tiny, I almost was your student that you should tell diving isn't for me, but I stuck it out and you were there encouraging the whole way!!!! Thank you for being so great and encouraging. Thank you for taking Dylan out. He is IN LOVE with diving.

Paco, if I didn't have you at the back of the group, I might not have made it to scuba....my ear wouldn't equalize, and you helped me stay calm to fix it. You grabbed a bunch of trash from the beach dive....kudos for taking care of the earth and sea!!!! And KUDOS for sticking with us on your DAY OFF!!!! I know I really appreciated that you were there on our last dive day!!!! It was fun to hear about your school days on the bus. Thank you for chatting. "You good?"

Shanissa, I am so grateful you helped with my scuba certification. I was very nervous on the way out to the dive spot. Your smile and calm vibe helped me and my new dive friend chill. Thank you for showing us all the living things down below, and bringing us together with Barney and Dylan underwater!!! Ridley thank you for hanging on to me before jumping in so i didnt topple over in my dive gear. And for your help on the dive!!! I appreciate you! And Captain Mikey, you did a great job keeping us all safe and picking us up when we surfaced. Thank you for without you, we wouldn't be able to get to the dive spots.

Sherlaura thank you for going through our PADI books and tests with us and filling out all our paperwork!!! It was lovely sitting and chatting with you.

Uri, you welcomed us, you got us to Armandos, and you sang us see you next time. Thank you for your sweet singing and lovely shuttle conversation.

Sami our driver to the airport, thank you for answering my million questions and stopping for a restroom break so we could have a last Piton. I appreciate your guided tour back to the airport.

Gus our driver in Soufriere "Gus Bus" had us laughing. LeAnn helped us tour on the catamaran with rum punch, Pitons and music then the volcano for a mud bath and the waterfall for a dip.

Richard on the catamaran was so much fun dancing until he "hurt his leg." You were cracking us up!!!!!

Best to you all,
Tracey

This is not a 5 star resort. Far from it. It may have been 5 stars in the 80s, but it hasn’t been updated since then. The rooms and furniture are old and dingy. We stayed in an ocean view butler suite with a living room, tub on the balcony, etc. The mattress was so bad, I had my first ever sciatica flare up the first night sleeping on it which ruined most of our trip. When I asked for a new one the answer was no. I ended up having to spend another $1,500 to see the doctor and then spent the last 2 nights literally sleeping on an ironing board. Completely unacceptable…and as I mentioned, a far cry from 5 stars. I mean, look at this couch. It’s gross. I did not unzip it, the zipper is apparently broken. Why would this place not invest in new furniture and comfortable beds? The only redeeming quality was the excellent service from our butlers.

Perfect especially waking up to watch the cruise ships come onshore.
