Absolutely thrilled to share my remarkable experience at Sandals South Coast! As a travel advisor familiar with Sandals properties, and hundreds of other all-inclusive resorts, this resort undeniably stands out above the rest. Our stay in the new Longbeach building, in a Club Level room, was nothing short of extraordinary.

From the moment we stepped into Club Sandals for check-in to every interaction with the staff, the service was impeccable. Warm greetings and genuine hospitality made us feel right at home from the get-go. A heartfelt shoutout to Janice at reservations, Jhanielle, and Kedesha from Club Sandals, and the entire entertainment team for going above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable.

What truly sets this resort apart is the plethora of activities included in the package. We did Hobie Cat sailing, paddle boarding, and went on an unforgettable snorkeling trip—all part of the experience!

I highly recommend Club Sandals or Butler service, as both ensure a personalized and elevated stay, but you really can't go wrong no matter what you choose at this resort.

What made our experience even more special was the tranquil and peaceful ambiance of the resort, while still offering vibrant entertainment and music for those who desired it. And let's not forget about the expansive layout of the resort—there's so much beach to explore and enjoy!

I'm already anticipating my next visit and wholeheartedly recommending Sandals South Coast to my clients—it truly is a slice of paradise!

The resort and the rooms were in great condition and well manicured. The service was satisfactory, and while the majority of the team went above and beyond to extend great service, there were exceptions to that and these team members were not the best example (reason for 4 stars rather than 5). The 3 stars on location were due to distance from airport to resort. The drive to South coast was a little further than would want to travel to again. All in all, for the price point, along with the beauty of the site, highly recommend.

OH NO SOUTH COAST! Not you, too! WE WERE SHOCKED that the practive of people waking early to reserve seats both at the pool and the beach that they rarely show up to stay or use has infected this paradise. This is my favorite Sandals; we''ve visited at least 5+ times and this is the first time we've experienced this selfishness. Why doesn't Sandals police this rudeness? There should be someone collecting items if the loungers aren't used after a period of time. The only thing I can think of as the reason Sandals does not do this on their properties is that they want everyone to purchase a Butler suite. I would feel more of the love since everyone kept saying 'Welcome Home' to me if there was a policy looking out for everyone. Or at least build more places in the shade, that's what everyone wants. You could have signs that could indicate if they are leaving for a meal - 'we'll be back at 1 PM' and then if they don't show up within a half hour - people have the right to put their items in a waiting nearby bin. If you don't want people touching your stuff, you'll return on time. During our last visit, there were two couples under a hut on the beach, when they all packed up, I approached them to ask if they were leaving, they said they were going to lunch and would be back. They left one magazine on each chair. Three hours later, I went to the pool and found them in loungers by the pool! Ugly selfishness at its worst! Everyone needs to work harder at making a vacation paradise a wonderful place without angst for everyone. Otherwise everything was wonderful. Unfortunately, I am hesitant to return.

2023: This is my absolute favorite Sandals resort. It is quiet and relaxing. The Sushi on the Sand restaurant is the best! We met wonderful people during our recent stay. They just need more bar stools at the over-the-water Lattitudes Bar.

We visited in late March 2024 for our 25th anniversary. We stayed in an over water bungalow and all I can say is wow! I don't know how any vacation will ever be as amazing as this one. The bungalow itself was heaven. I really didn't want to leave. We did go to the beach and our butler set us up in a private cabana one day, but we never went to the pools. The restaurants were good. We especially loved the sushi restaurant- that was probably our favorite meal. Out butlers- Jermaine and Chris were extraordinary. They truly went above and beyond. They packed us a cooler for our excursion without even being asked- and it came in handy! They would bring snacks and drinks randomly without us even asking- like they knew what we needed before we even did! I cannot say enough about how amazing the service was. I would highly recommend this resort and if you can stay in a bungalow for even a night or two, it is totally worth it! I hope we can come back again some day. The only downside was all of the construction noise. It went on all day long and into the night- sometimes until 1 am or later as they were on a tight deadline to finish the day we left. I gave location 4 stars just because it is 1.5 hours from the airport and the roads are not great- lots of potholes and the driver has to maneuver a lot. Crazy drivers too!

Let me just say this. We had a great time.But. I dont know what happened to this resort but they do not seem to care about the people that employ them. The Guest!.
I guarantee you the "manager" will give some canned response apologizing for our subpar stay.
Just do something!
The room was ok except for the roaches. Service and food subpar. Staff does not seem to care about the guests needs and has NO sense of urgency. ( There were some standouts) The drive to resort was garbage. Ok, to be expected. Luggage got forgotten. Golf carts running you of the path. Room was clean and girl was attentive mostly. (Asking 2-3×)
Wait times at restaurants to lengthy. Waited over an hour multiple times and was asked to take it and go. Food was "ok".
Just ok At this pricepoint??
Roaches by the bar our room and Lobby as well. Call an exterminator!!
Mold/moss in the pools-swim up and main. That's gross and probably dangerous. Clean the pool!!
View: million dollar.
Good vibe when they aren't blasting music. But there is no attention to detail. Maybe because it's all inclusive? When you pay this kind of money you expect a certain level of standard. If it's not your people it's YOU.! Fix one or the other before you have rooms you can't fill.
(Gift shop lady Vanessa was an Angel helping me with a splitting headache than remembered me the next day and asked how I was) That's called customer service.
Go ask her how it's done.
Rant over.
(Update) Manager Kerone spoke to us before we left and assured us our concerns would be addressed. 1 to a 3.

Long drive from airport on a very curvy road. Food is not the greatest. Rooms got cleaned daily, but sometimes face clothes and towels would not get replaced. Wifi doesn't work on the whole resort. One day it was out for hours, so Karaoke got canceled. The entertainment staff were great, and so were all the events.

Best place to spend a vacation.

We loved the resort, the drive from MBJ was long and rough

Had 2 excursions planned ahead 2 months and reserved to find out the night before that both have been cancelled w no notice or alternative. Since it was so late we could not even rezerve another one. Wifi is bad on the resort, plan on having to pay extra for a decent signal! American country/rock music playing at all the bars, you do not feel like on a vacation (feels like margaritaville)

Sandles South Coast provides outstanding service and the location is very beautiful. We would highly recommend going to this resort. The pools, bar service everywhere (even on the beach) and use of the sailboats and scuba/snuba/snorkeling gear make it worthwhile. We booked a swimout room in the Dutch villiage and I would strongly urge everyone to do so. It is the difference between a nice room and a memorable room. I would like to especially recognize Jamar Nelson, Clive, and Maxlin for their outstanding service and their assistance made our vacation very enjoyable. Tip for anyone going to Jamica, it seemed very safe at all times. Resort Security at the beach intercepted us as we walked to the end of the beach on both sides. They are vigilent. I would also suggest you book Club Mobay for the airport. Someone meets you as you leave the plane and escorts you through immigration(avoiding very long lines and confusing forms to fill out) and to a lounge with all you can eat/drink both upon arrival and departure,( $82 for the both of us). They check your luggage while you wait for the bus (really a large van). Lastly, the resort never felt crowded and the food for the most part was very good. The one caveat about this location is the beach is not really good for swimming due to sea grass and rocks. The pools however were clean and open 24hrs a day. You will enjoy this resort.

Unfortunately my experience with sandals was a major disappointment. We visited South Coast for our 25th anniversary. I paid 20k for our trip which was to be 4 nights in the OWB then moving to sandals Montego Bay for 2 nights. The ride to the resort from the airport was every bit as bad as everyone warns you about so I expected that. However upon arriving at the resort I was immediately struck by the rundown look of the entrance which did not strike us at all as a 5 star resort. A bad first impression. The resort itself is very well maintained and quite scenic. The OWB was very nice and the staff did a great job of welcoming us. The butler service is phenomenal and we could not have been better taken care of by the butler team. The first night we dined at Schooners which is raved about by those that frequent this resort. Unfortunately it was terrible. Which to save time on the subject the food on the resort is all sub par. The best things there is the pizza from Giuseppe and the crepes from the French shop. Other than that it's just not good. The first day we enjoyed the OWB and the beach. The next 3 days a tropical storm moved through and ruined those days. We purposely booked our trip for mid November to try to avoid this but what can you do? Due to the storm we decided to move off of the water into a Rondoval. This was a step down in price but the resort made it clear they would not compensate us the difference because it was my choice, which I willingly accepted. We actually preferred the rondoval so anyone who's wondering don't spend the money on the OWB the rondoval was nicer. Due to the weather ruining our time we decided to just stay put at South Coast and not move as was originally planned. Also we decided to extend our stay by one night to try to make up for the time lost. We hadn't been enjoying our time but hoped staying in some nicer weather would change our outlook. After a lengthy discussion with the office in which I asked THREE times if we were on the same page as to staying the extra day I paid the additional $1650 and changed our flight. We thought we were settled in for the extended stay. The next day we found out that we were not booked for an extra day and the money paid was because staying at South Coast in the rondoval was more expensive. I knew it would be more to stay in the rondoval so I was expecting that I paid for that AND the extra day. This was not the case and the lady who was helping me was wrong and didn't know what she was talking about. I called and spoke with anyone I could to rectify the situation but after a couple hours of back and forth phone calls all they would offer is to charge me another $1700 to stay the extra day. I was not interested in paying more for what I was told I had already paid for. This wasn't a case of my misunderstanding. I asked 3 times and she assured me I was getting what I was asking for. Nevertheless they would not honor her mistake. Terrible customer service IMO. They did give us a $200 resort voucher which was useless to us in this situation. We then had to scramble to change our flight back to the original day, which was yet another hour on the phone with the airline. Finally the day we were to leave they began calling us before 6 am when we weren't supposed to leave until 10. They called 3 times between 540 and 745. By this time we could not get out of there fast enough. Overall I'm disgusted to have spent that amount of money only to have hated our vacation and feel like our 25th anniversary was ruined. We will never visit another sandals resort.

I would not recommend this particular Sandals Resort

LOCATION: beautiful beach, pretty remote. The drive from the airport is terrible. The transportation is through vendor, and their idea of customer service is how fast you get there. Windy road, so prepare for abrupt stops, breaking, and hot van because they turn on the AC only when you get into a van, so it doesn't cool down. Rooms are good, but resort is under renovation, so only 2 pools are available. The main pool has horrible music selection, and DJ plays what he likes, not what the crowd likes. Not enough seats at the pool, you have to get the seat by 7 am, otherwise, you are out of luck.

FOOD: absolute disappointment. Nowhere near the 5-star global dining promised. You can see they are trying to reduce food costs. Breakfast buffet has one non-pork option, which is chicken livers every other day, and stewed local fish the other days. No good GF or vegetarian options. I am not even GF or vegetarian, but vegetable options are sliced cucumber, tomato and one type of shredded lettuce, which they use in every salad, from cobb, to garden to Ceasar. A la carte place takes an hour, and food quality is sub-par. Only one type of lettuce available. They cut the high cost items, such as steaks, seafood. No good steak costs, it's half-an-inch strip steak; no filet, no lamb chops. No oysters, no grilled octopus. Shrimp is meh, you can see it's a cheap small type. If it is high-cost item, like lobster, lamb, octopus - it will be in a stew mixed with other items. French restaurant offered beef medallion, which was cheap steak covered in gravy (not even au jus). 2 restaurants require reservation, and unless you have a butler, prepare to have a reservation at 9.00 pm. We had that, and when we walked in the restaurant at 7.00, it was empty. Sushi place was great though, probably the best food option because that's mainly raw food, and the sushi chefs were great, and took pride in their work.

CUSTOMER SERVICE: average at best. Many servers and bartenders look at you like they are doing you a favor, orders are done inconsistently, especially if there is a substitution. Since they are not tipped, the attitude shows, because many people didn't even try to go out of their way. Went to the martini bar, the guy was yawning, drinks were ok, you can see he didn't care. It felt like we were imposing.

I hope this is not the change across all Sandals resorts, because we have been coming to Sandals for years.

7 night stay in the swim up rooms in the Dutch village was fantastic. You can’t beat the service or beauty at South Coast. The only downside is the 1.5 hr drive through winding mountain roads full of massive potholes. If the roads were fixed, this would be a great scenic drive to add to a wonderful place to stay.

Swim up rooms are spectacular!! Highly recommend because there is no need to go down and reserve seats by the pool each day. You have your own chairs right up to the pool!!

Great service, beach and food

Excellent!!! Second home!

This is the most beautiful Sandals resort we have visited. The foliage is amazing. The service here is impeccable and the people are super friendly. We have visited Sandals Royal Caribbean on two occasions because of its proximity to MBJ. Sandals South Coast is right up the with SRC. This resort is quieter and because of the size, it provides great exercise. The water sports, e.g., snorkeling and Big Mable tubing are directly on site.

Francois is my favorite entertainer!!! He’s so fun and enthusiastic, and always knows how to brighten everyone’s mood. He also has the voice of an angel! My family and I had such a fun time because of him, and we hope to see him again on our next trip to sandals south coast!

FOOD POISONING on our 34th anniversary. We became sick the second day of vacation and bed ridden for the remaining four days. Restaurant 101- safety handle food, maintain at the proper temperature and always wash your hands. Apparently something went wrong with the basics. The resort would not acknowledge and requested a stool sample although we would not receive the results. Kinda funny that the patient would not receive only the resort. Upon checking out, the manager said all the correct corporate responses as reading from a script while handing us the bill for the medicine that we had to buy from the gift shop. I could understand if we developed the flu or COVID but we developed food poisoning which was a direct result of the resort’s action or lack of. Expensive 1 1/2 day for a vacation. Sandals does not see the need to refund us for the portion we were sick.

This was our 6th Sandals Resort visit. It was our third resort in Jamaica. While this resort location may not be for everyone as it is very private and isolated it was just what we needed this year. We can't say enough great things about all of the people and the service. We really enjoy our sandals' vacations they allow us to relax and do a reset. we have already planned our next trip back to Jamaica again. Thank you, Sandals, for being very consistent and always delivering a fabulous vacation!
