To start with the negatives, rooms are showing age a little bit (but they were extremely clean) and we were in the newest parts of the hotel. And the food overall is pretty bland and bad with a few exceptions. But on the positive side, its location is perfect, the place is huge and amazing, love the 1950’s vibe of the hotel. The pool and lazy river gave us amazing fun for couple hours everyday. Water temp was perfect. Staff was incredible, the best I’ve ever experienced. Price was perfect for what we got. Great stay! Thank you! Would love to come again.
Cabana bay was a Great experience! A lot of Entertainment and food options. Bayliner diner cafeteria style eatery had a good amount of options as well as good tasting food, breakfast was also very good! A lot of the staff were very friendly. Bowling alley and arcade were very fun, just make reservations for bowling early on, the alley gets reserved quickly. A lot of seating pool side, at either one of their pools and outside activities for children.(movie nights, s’mores making by outdoor fire pits ect.) A few downsides were, the negative comments about the walls being paper thin are true. If you sleep in and don’t want to be woken to the sounds of kids screaming or crying I suggest bringing ear plugs. Also minor repairs go along way. Our shower head was broken and gave us terrible water pressure, stains on carpet in the room and damaged headboard/dirty room phone, for the amount of money spent details like this should be corrected. Overall I will most likely return in the future, and our overall stay was Great. I would recommend for a fun family vacation!
We loved the retro decor and positive atmosphere of the hotel. Our room was cute and spacious, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The complimentary shuttle service was super convenient, and it was nice to be able to walk to Volcano Bay. We will definitely be back!

I stayed here over spring break with my family so we could have early and easy access to Volcano Bay. My family of 5 enjoyed the family suite, pool (inflatable toys only and bring your own tubes for the lazy river!), on site dining and shake/malt shop. Prices were expensive, but the amenities, cleanliness of the property, kindness/knowledge of staff, and early access to the theme parks made it worth it. There are other perks available that we didn't even know about with transportation to other Universal areas- make sure you know everything that's included in your stay! Would recommend to others.

Hotel has one of the best pools in Orlando. Service is slow and lacks and care.
This hotel was disappointing despite mostly good service (front desk, luggage & ticketing were helpful). Our room had about 2’ of window, bedding was stained, bathroom was not clean and the overall property was not updated. The pool areas were crowded and often littered.
I’ve stayed at the Aventura twice recently and it’s much cleaner, does not show signs of wear and tear, a lot quieter and is the same price tier. If comparing the two, I’d stay there instead.
We had a fantastic first family trip to Universal and staying at Cabana Bay was the perfect home base for us. The rooms were cute and a good size, the elevators are very fast for having so many floors and people, there are a lot of dining options, and the activities/amenities are great! Also, transportation was so fast and easy. Great option for families.
After a long day of travel, we arrived at the hotel with six kids only to be told. They sold our room and have no other rooms and the cab company has yet to pick us up. Turned vacation into a disaster.

The staff was very nice. The beds were the most comfortable ones we've slept in for a while traveling. The lazy river was our favorite activity. We didn't have time to all we wanted to since this was a work trip. We would definitely go back!

It is ok hotel for getting you to Universal with early admission only into Islands of adventure. Rooms are outdated with thin walls and can hear everything next door. Staff is great checkin/checkout was easy. Have options to eat onsite along with starbucks.
Would stay again. Affordable for the accomodations provided. Lazy river was a blast. Hotel staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the parks.
