Out of the way, nothing special hotel. As owners, we thought the residences would've have been nice. The hotel rooms are actually nicer and have more amenities. Most of the amenities listed aren't available. I'd book elsewhere if I ever came back. Doubtful though.

Bad consumer service , do not recommend

Visited the breakfast buffet from the adjoining hotel. Restaurant was poorly ventilated, borderline stuffy, and poorly lit. Food items selection was limited compared with that of adjoining hotel. Food quality was noticeably lower than hotel next door. Staff was only marginally helpful, not welcoming.

We love this resort and have visited once a year with our kids since they were babies. It is very family friendly and not too close to any Cancun spring break shenanigans. We enjoy the spacious rooms and, although AI is expensive, it’s worth it because the food/drink options are great. The only thing we don’t care for is the resort’s beach as it’s full of seaweed and doesn’t have that beautiful, clear blue water the area is know for. However, the resort is a short walk to ferries for Isla Mujeres so you have easy access to several better beaches.

Not suitable for collaborators, since their leaders withhold 40% of their tips arguing that with this they pay other collaborators, the guest is charged an amount and the collaborator is paid almost 50% less than what is real and they never give them clarifications of the same, it does not have an independent union, the supposed union belongs to the same company, for this reason, if they complain to its delegates, there is retaliation, in addition to this, if the guest leaves a signed tip in dollars, they are paid very, very Below the legal, this company only cares about its own interests, so BE CAREFUL FOR THOSE WHO GO AS GUESTS, the service and each of the collaborators deserve much more than this blatant theft from the administrators.

the water is expensive. our stay cost 60 dollars for water. 7days. We told them to remove it from the bill, you can not drink tap water or us it for coffee. I know this from trying it. They did remove the cost at the desk at check out I was cranky. buyn the water at the service station near by.

They took all kitchenettes out of "mini-suites" so you can no longer cook in those rooms.... forces guests to use on sight restaurants for all meals.. ..big shock

First, the facility is exceptional all by itself. The added benefit that would make this a 5-star review even if the facility wasn’t exceptional are the facts that the staff was absolutely incredible and the food.. the food was unbelievably good. We chose to use the all-inclusive plan and we are glad that we did. Do your homework before you come. You’ll need to pre-book reservations for evening dinning, even 2 weeks out prime times were limited at certain restaurants. I think you’d have a miserable time coming here thinking you’d be able to walk into any restaurant when you wanted. Tips are included in the all-inclusive plan, but a $20 USD for great service at the pool or bar goes a long ways. Again, the staff were simply phenomenal. The location is a bit off the normal ‘hotel row’ so the beach, while nice, wasn’t expansive. It was clean and usable and we enjoyed it, especially the beach bar area. Lots and lots of families at this resort, there are private adult only areas if you are bothered by families enjoying themselves. We chose a 2 room ocean view suite and it was perfect, there’s even in room laundry facilities if you need to use one. Truly a vacation that we will measure all future trips from.

Beautiful hotel and room.

Dislike, upon check-in to the hotel, they start with their timeshare sales pitch. 😒

Nice hotel. Kind of off the beaten path. North of Old Cancun. Up north past Puerto Juarez. North like Playa Mujeres

Make this your next place to visit. You will not be disappointed.

They are not very informative about dining reservations, beach cabana reservations, and entertainment.

This resort was luxurious and we had our stay during autumn break. The rooms were a nice temperature, the staff was fairly nice, and the weather was perfect.

Our family visited recently for five nights and had an excellent time. The grounds, beach, pools are all immaculate. Between the beach and the pools it was hard to decide where to spend our time. The kids loved the inflatable play space in the ocean and there was always an activity available. Service was exceptional. The rooms while a little dated are clean, comfortable and have great views. I would argue even more comfortable than the newer resort next door. We tried a new restaurant every night and found all of them to be great. Lunch and breakfast are a little lacking but totally serviceable and the kids loved every meal. They do have you sign for all-inclusive which I preferred because it was easier to tip. The spa is excellent and a quiet oasis. We skipped the timeshare pitch and never felt too much pressure on that front. Highly recommend for any family.

Aside from the location, my family of four absolutely LOVED everything about this resort!
From the food, the setting, how clean it is, how pleasant the ALL the staff were, the pools, the Zumba classes…..
We have nothing bad to say about this resort
We have already spoke about returning in the future!
We stayed in room 2503B. Perfect view for sun rises and Sun sets
The breeze off of the ocean….perfect! Thank you to everyone who made our seven days PERFECT!
Gracias

We stayed here for 6 nights. This side of the Mexico does not have sunsets, but because we were high enough (floor 7) we were able to see the sunset on the other side of our hotel (when we got out from our room) and the sunrise from our balcony.

It wasn’t too busy when we got there so they were able to give us a room upgrade. Which was amazing. We travelled 3rd week of feb.

I can’t give a proper review of the food because we couldn’t eat the meat (due to religious obligations), but I can definitely say there are great options at each of the 5 restaurants on the resort for all diets. I would definitely recommend to reserve those restaurants before hand. And there is a bit of a wait at breakfast buffet every morning, but not too long.

Beach side and pool side service was perfect. Never ending drinks and meals (if you go with all inclusive)

Little bit of seaweed at the beach, but they did come and clean it once. It’s not the gross seaweed, it felt and looked more like wet grass.

Going to isle mujeres (island right across from resort) for one day was also worth it. Color of the water was insane, try to go a little early if you have little ones, it becomes a party scene because of all the free tequila!

There is a 5 diamond resort right next door to villa Del pelmar called garza Blanca I think. They have a free carousel that kids can ride as many times as they like. Garza also looked beautiful btw.

Side note: i was uncomfortable at one piont when I waiter asked for tip. Just happened once at breakfast buffet. But I get it, at an all inclusive kind of expected to give tip…

Also the concierge will tell you if you go on a tour of the garza Blanca resort you will get discounts for excursions, and a breakfast at garza and she’ll say it’s only 90 mins. But they ended up taking 3 hours of our time AND tried to sell us “time shares” which they referred to as the residence club. If you want the discount.. you’ll have to get to the last part of the tour.. which is the selling part and just give a hard no and get out. Because if you don’t they will just keep dragging it out until you fold.

Other than those setbacks. All the workers were really nice and friendly. My kids loved it. So I gave 5 stars.

Perfect place to stay everything’s nice.. thank you

We had a week at Villa del Palmar with a huge group of 16 total, 6 kids and 10 adults. The experience was wonderful overall, the rooms were clean and beds were very comfortable. The food at each of the restaurants was delish although the service at some was maybe a tad bit slow. The beach was cleaned almost daily from the seaweed and you really do not touch any unless you go deep into the water. We went to Isla Mujeres for a day and that was very fun riding gold carts around and getting lunch! The rule of placing your towel on a chair to reserve it was kind of silly as some guests do so at 6 am and then you can see that no one sits in those chairs all day long. Other than those few minor things that I have mentioned- the trip was incredible and we would stay here again.
