The hotel has great location, great service. The pool area has games, including shuffle board! Drinks and food are fast. Rooms feel a bit dated, with not a lot of storage if you’re staying a 2 weeks. Maid service was great. Gloria on 9th floor was especially helpful, responsive and nice, Mahalo!

This hotel has nice modern facilities and well appointed rooms. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay and appreciated the attentive staff. They helped us find our way to tours, restaurants, and everything else we could think of.

Being across the street from the boardwalk as opposed to right on the beach was not an inconvenience at all. And the views were great.

Other resort hotels seems to be packed with squealing children which is fine if you’re there with you children as well, but this hotel had a more adult vibe. There were children around for sure, and families were accommodated as well, but it just felt a bit less crazy than those destination hotels that have a million children all over the place.

For this trip with my wife, this environment was so much better than others nearby.

I will be staying here next time I’m in town for sure.

Everything is good about this place except for their rules. Why are there age restrictions on which pool kids can swim in?!

Decent if uninspired hotel rooms. Nice balconies which may have obstructed view or may expose you to loud street noise or the very loud music and dance show that’s part of the luau near the pool… even too noisy 25 floors up. There’s also lots of noise from the hallway or adjacent rooms.

The $40 resort fee is a scam. It entitles you to use the beach, which is already open to the public, but not the beach chairs and umbrellas at the beach; the guys selling time with those say their relationship with the adjacent hotel ended six years ago. It also entitles you to sit at the hotel pool, which is one of the amenities you may have selected the hotel for. The fee also covers “activities” you’ll probably never use and lets you pay still more for the spa or other amenities.

The open-air lobby is cool, though chunks of it have to be roped off when it has rained because the wet floors are slippery. The front desk, bell station, concierge, etc. are at least covered overhead.

Several shops and restaurants in the lower floors with nice aloha shirts or ukuleles, and good food at elevated but not ridiculous prices (especially for Hawaii). A couple of “ABC” sundries shops with light pharmacy and convenience store stuff and souvenirs and alcohol.

You’re across the main drag from the beach, with dozens of good eateries and shops within an easy walk, and that’s what you’re really paying for here.

Welcome to the Waikiki Marriott, where time travel to the 80s is included in your resort fee! Our lobby and common areas are like a blast from the past, complete with vintage vibes and retro décor.

Take a dip in our clean, albeit slightly dated swimming pools – just be prepared for a slow elevator ride back to your room, where only a lucky few get a glimpse of the ocean view through the tiny windows.

Speaking of rooms, let's talk about Room 1121 – where outdated furniture meets microscopic beds. The mattresses have seen better days, and the bathroom might just double as a science experiment with its possible mold. And don't even think about enjoying the sunset from your balcony, unless you're okay with sitting on worn-out, torn furniture.

In terms of service, our cleaning maids are the shining stars, bringing a ray of sunshine to an otherwise gloomy check-in experience. The check-in staff seems to be auditioning for a role in a soap opera titled 'The Sad Hotel,' with their tired, grumpy demeanor. Seriously, someone get them a vacation or a career change, stat!

Now, let's discuss the infamous resort fee – a whopping $50 per day for activities that most guests wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole. But hey, at least you can rent two beach chairs until 7 pm, if you're willing to sprint back from the sunset like an Olympic athlete. And our fitness center? It's about as exciting as a roadside motel's gym.

Ah, let's not forget about our parking structure – the ultimate test of patience and spatial awareness. Despite prepaying for parking, good luck finding a spot if you dare to return to the hotel after 7 pm. Our tiny, cramped stalls are like a puzzle waiting to be solved, except the pieces don't quite fit, and the stakes are your bumper's safety. Attempting to maneuver in and out of these parking spaces feels like participating in an extreme sport, with adrenaline-pumping turns and heart-stopping close calls. It's a true testament to your driving skills and nerve – just pray you don't end up with a scratched car or a newfound fear of parking.

And last but not least, our restaurants – where the $48 per person breakfast buffet is a steal if you have a fetish for tiny omelets. Otherwise, you might want to venture outside the hotel for a culinary adventure that won't break the bank or your taste buds.

Overall, staying at the Waikiki Marriott might leave you questioning your life choices, but hey, at least it makes for a memorable story to tell your friends – just make sure to add some comedic flair to lighten the mood otherwise you will feel like an idiot for spending over $400/night at a 4-star hotel that is no better than a motel.

While the location of the hotel was excellent, other hotels in the area were located in a more central spot along the beach.
The rooms were new, a more modern look compared to some older establishments we considered. Despite the great efforts of the cleaning staff, the room gathered dust, primarily from the air-conditioning vents. While the cleaning team exhibited warmth and friendliness, the front desk staff lacked the same level of hospitality and assistance. In addition, the walls were pretty thin and you could hear alarms etc. next door or down the hall.
Additionally, the absence of room service left us uncertain considering it is supposed to be a resort (not sure if this is a service in other hotels in Hawaii).

Pretty disappointed with our stay. Will be the last time we come here. Definitely not worth the resort fee. Not enough elevators for a hotel of this size. You’ll be waiting awhile during peak hours. We found ourselves laughing with other guests while our already full car stopped at almost every floor on the way down. If you’re traveling with kids, the Hilton Hawaiian Village is a much better option.

The hotel faces Waikiki Beach, but if it wasn't for the ocean side because there are two buildings, I think the point of staying at this hotel would be diminished.
However, that doesn't mean you can't see the sea, and the front desk is in the back building. However, breakfast is served in the building facing the sea, so you will need to travel there.

Our flight got canceled so alaska gave us vouchers to stay in a hotel for the night. It was about 3 in the morning and the lady working the front desk was very annoyed and not friendly. She cut me off everytime I spoke. I was asking if we could stay 2 nights even though the voucher was for one and I had said I could pay for the second night. She cut me off and said you would have to book separately. So I asked if that meant I had to check out at 11am and check back in at 3pm and she said yes. I asked if there was any way we didn't have to check out and she said no that was the policy... very unaccomodating and unprofessional how she handled all the people on our flight. Super short story all of us and just felt she didn't want to be there or want to help. Her name was Karina working the late night shift.

Wasn't expecting a nice room cause it was a free room on a voucher but the room was clean.

It's definitely nicer than when I was here last. Rooms are well laid out. Amenities are nice.

Beautiful hotel, very elegant and quiet

Excellent hotel in Waikiki

perfect vacation location...rooms were clean and spacious, staff was friendly and helpful, food was excellent!! I would definitely recommend

Great and friendly place! Very nice there helped out a local church as well!

Location is decent, property looks clean and staff are generally pretty helpful and nice. That's about it, nothing else justified the price.

1. Building seems old and soundproofing is terrible. Could hear furniture moving above me, televisions blare next to me, and the weirdest moaning from somewhere.
2. My suite had problems with the hot water where it would just go completely cold and stay like that for a few minutes. Thankfully maintenance staff helped sort it out.
3. The Queensbreak bar and restaurant has terrible service. My wife and I sat ourselves down at a table that hadn't been bused yet. We spent 10min sitting in front of dirty dishes waiting for a server to even talk to us. I flagged down two separate servers only for them to say they'll be with us in a minute and then proceed to ignore us. It wasn't even that busy. We just left. The hotel manager listened to my complaints and gave me some resort credit as an apology which was appreciated. But I would still avoid going there.
4. Elevators can get so busy (e.g. mornings) that you wait 5-10 min for them. On our last day, it was so bad that you could wait more than 10min without having one stop on your floor. I had to wait in a massive line in the lobby to get to my room so I can get my stuff to check out and then wait another 15min to get down. Probably took me half an hour. Watch out if you have to catch a flight, which I did.
5. My room card reader ran out of batteries on my last day, so I couldn't get in my room. I had to wait for maintenance staff to come let me in. This was during the elevator situation so including this, it took me more than half an hour just to get my luggage and checkout. Pretty awful given that I had a flight to catch and a car to return. The delays here cost me extra with the car company.

Don't know if I was just unlucky or what. The stay was otherwise ok, but I find this stuff pretty unacceptable when I'm paying 400-500 a night.

Great hotel. Great staff. Beach right across the street. Loud music at a restaurant across the street.

Amazing vacation. We'll be back!

The place was very nice and the location is the best, but what really was special was the service. We left a wallet in the rental car on the property and the manager on call, Jeff, went above and beyond to take care of us. Without him, getting home on a plane woulda been very stressful. Thank you Jeff.

Good hotel for vacation. I wouldn't stay here for work because everything, including food is priced for resorts. You'll be paying for breakfast. Great location on beach. Lots of dining options. Lots of little stores if you forget something at home. Lots of options for tours and that sort of stuff. Parking is expensive, don't get a rental car if you don't need it.

This is going to be a long review. First off, this is a HUGE hotel/resort. 2 towers, connected by a large open-air courtyard. The back is Paoakalani Tower, front is Kealohilani Tower. The first 3 floors are mainly amenities. There are ABC stores on property. You can get pretty much anything you need here, from food to alcohol. There are 2 Starbucks as well. There are several restaurants on property. We did not eat at any, except breakfast one morning. Be prepared to pay premium prices. The breakfast buffet is $48/person! We ordered a la carte and split the food, and STILL spent over $50 for breakfast. You will need your room key for pretty much EVERYTHING: the keys can be temperamental. You need a key to access anything beyond the 3rd floor (the public can access the restaurants). About the elevator: only one person needs to key in on 1st floor, and all floors can be pressed. They charge a $50/day amenity fee ABOVE the cost of the room. Amenities include pools, fitness center, activities (you’ll get a schedule at check-in). There are 2 pools…a family pool and adults only (21+) pool, as well as a hot tub (in the adults only area). There was a “Winners Circle” event in Waikiki, and we couldn’t use the pool. The chairs always had towels on them to reserve them, but no one occupying them. The fee covers rental of beach chairs or boogie boards. 2 chairs, 2 boards, or one of each, daily. Rooms were just okay. Bidet was the highlight of our room. VERY loud street noise, okay view, double beds, not even queens! Absolutely hated the shampoo/conditioner/soap. Smelled horrid. Not sure I’d stay here again.
