Below are a few answer to some common questions we get asked. If you cannot find the answer to your question, please do not hesitate to contact our customer service.
Do I have to book online?
No, if you feel more comfortable booking over the phone or in person, then by all means feel free to contact us
and one of our vacation specialists will be glad to assist you with your booking. For vacation packages and cruises you get the same price as what you see online. For flights you may have to pay a small service fee if booking via telephone or in person. This is because some of our flights online do not have any commissions or service fees associated with them so if booking with a consultant a service fee may have to be added.
What is included with my package?
Vacation packages to sun destinations include round-trip airfare, hotel accommodations, and transfers to and from the airport. If booking an all-inclusive resort, your package will also include all your meals, drinks and activities as outlined by each hotel. Packages to Europe and the USA include round-trip airfare and hotel accommodations, but some DO NOT include transfers depending on the tour operator.
When will I receive my tickets?
Generally your travel tickets and documentation will be emailed to you 2-3 weeks before your departure. If you are traveling last minute, they will usually be emailed to you withing a few days. See our travel booking information

Am I getting the best price?
Yes, we guarantee the lowest price. We work hard to ensure that our prices are the same or lower then our competitors websites, however, if you find a lower priced vacation package, cruise or flight we will beat it! See our lowest price guaranteed for more details.
How do I get from the airport to the hotel?
Packages to sun destinations (Mexico, Cuba, Dominican Republic, etc.) include transfers. When you arrive in destination and exit the airport you will see tour operator representatives who are holding signs with the name of your operator (ie. Transat Holidays, Sunwing Vacations, etc.). They will assist you and let you know which transfer bus to get on. They will also let you know at what time they will be picking you up at your hotel for your return transfers. They will usually have an orientation meeting with you as well and can answer any questions you may have about your hotel or destination.
Is booking online safe?
Yes, All online bookings on Escapes.ca are done over a secure server. This means that your credit card information is scrambled before even getting submitted over the internet. Secure servers make it virtually impossible for unauthorized 3rd parties to access your personal information.
Is it safe to book with Escapes.ca?
Escapes.ca (Skyland Travel Inc.) is a British Columbia registered travel agency operating under the registration number 2143-1. Skyland Travel Inc. has been in business for over 20 years, providing honest and reliable service to all our valued customers. Whether booking online or over the phone we will do our very best to make sure your travel plans run as smoothly as possible.
What happens if the tour operator/airlines goes bankrupt?
Escapes.ca is a registered travel agency with Consumer Protection BC. This means any of our customers from across Canada are covered under the Travel Assurance Fund. This fund is used to compensate consumers who do not receive any travel services purchased from a registered travel agency, travel wholesaler or travel supplier, after they have exhausted all other means of a refund. This is one more piece of vital coverage that you may not get by booking with an unregistered agency. Also, by booking directly with an airline or supplier you may not be covered should they go bankrupt.
What happens if the price of my package/flight changes?
Generally, once you reserve a package or flight that is the price you are locked in at and not changes will be made if the price changes. In other words, if the price reduces after you book, you will not be entitled to that new price. Unfortunately this can sometime happen, but it is not something we control as the airlines and suppliers adjust their prices continually based on supply and demand. Some travelers try to wait for last minute deals which can sometime save money, but then of course you are not guaranteed you will get want you want as often times packages and flights sell out. Occasionally there are promotions which will protect you should your price drop after booking, these are great promotions to take advantage of.
Can I cancel my booking?
All bookings, once purchased by the customer, are subject to strict cancellation penalties depending on the tour operator and the number of days until departure. These penalties vary by tour operator and in many cases the packages can be 100% non-refundable. It is recommended that you carefully plan your travel dates and make sure that you have proper documentation before booking your travel arrangements. We also highly recommend purchasing travel insurance. (see next question)
Can I purchase travel insurance?
Yes. We highly recommend travel insurance and will gladly assist you in deciding which insurance plan is right for you. Travel insurance can protect you and your travel dollars against unforeseen medical emergencies and travel mishaps.
