Germany Vacations

Made up of big, modern cities, and small picturesque towns that look as though they are from another time, Germany offers a lot to tourists, including story-book charm, a wealth of art and culture, huge forests, towering castles, as well as fine wine and beer.
Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich are among the country's big cities, with Berlin being the most modern and fashionable of the three. Other regions of note include the Rhine Valley, the Black Forest, and the Romantic Road (Romantische Strasse). Of the many castles spread across the country, Schloss Neuschwanstein, conceived by Ludwig II with the help of a stage designer rather than an architect, is the world's best known.
Our Opnion
Deep in the heart of Europe, Germany has molded the whole continent like no other, and its history is both varied and vast. A great destination year round, most people tend to visit between May and September, when outdoor events and festivals enliven the cities, nature is ready for hikers and cyclists, and the beer gardens and cafés bustle at all hours.

The majority of Germany lies within the moderate, maritime climatic zone. Large fluctuations in temperature are rare. Rain falls throughout the year. The average winter temperature is 2°C on the North German Plain and - 6°C in the mountains. Average temperatures in July range between 18°C on the North German Plain and 20°C in the sheltered valleys of the south. Exceptions include the upper Rhine plains with their very mild climate, Upper Bavaria which is influenced by the föhn, a warm Alpine wind that blows in from the south, and the Harz mountains, which have their own microclimate with harsh winds, cool summers and snowy winters.

For monthly average temperatures please refer to your destination of choice.
