Hotel is lovely and the staff are very friendly, there are 3 restaurants but if you are not organised enough or know who to speak to you will only ever be able to use the Palm, which is fine but with a limited choice of food 4 starters and 6 main courses, but all of good quality, so we hired a taxi for our 2nd night and within 15 minutes were eating 5* at Le Bistro, on our return we booked the other two restaurants, which again was tricky because you can only book them 24hrs in advance and not before! so we booked somewhere else again, eventually we will find out what the 5* dining experience is like at the Cove on site this Saturday. But that's about all I can fault. The pools and gardens are well maintained, the poolside service is great, hardly any kids around but there is a small kids club but it appears to be shut. The rooms are spacious and clean, the bathrooms have a big walk in shower and a big tub separate with lot of space and lovely clean towels, the maid cleans and changes all every day and the be linen every other day, air conditioning is efficient, good TV if you're bothered, Wifi is excellent in almost everywhere, the view from our room 508 is brilliant overlooking the ocean, you don't quite see the sunrise or sunset in entirety due to the lay of the land and two peninsulas West & East. Prince Harry stayed here 3 weeks ago so it cant be that bad! We used the spa for massage treatments at the end of the complex and it was brilliant and well kitted out again with great views and lovely staff. The whole place is serine and we will definitely be back. If you want more hussle and bussle with clubs and pubs and loads of restaurants this is not the place for you,but to relax it is one of the best. The sea is warm even though at this point the Caribbean Sea meets the Atlantic, I'm writing this middle of December so its certainly warmer than the Atlantic around the Canaries for example.
Had a fantastic holiday at Bluewaters Nov 2016, this was my first visit and hopefully not my last. I stayed 10 nights all inclusive as a solo traveller looking for rest and relaxation. On arrival and check in I was really impressed with the courtesy and professionalism on display from the staff, something which continued during my stay. The staff here are so pleasant and friendly it was like being part of an extended family. Room - Was in 300 block, sea view. Massive bed, separate shower/bath, his n her sinks, Elemis toiletries (replaced regularly or just ask for more), plenty of storage space, aircon very good and silent, minibar stocked by choosing what want from list if on FIP, usual TV big choice of channels, writing desk, tea/coffee making. Had UK power sockets! Good standard room, I have made a few suggestions on how the rooms could be even better. These really are minor points.Room improvements - Electronic safe in room, please provide a user guide as had to get maintenance to come and sort. The kettle had really short lead and power sockets situated low to floor meaning boiling kettle on floor not desk. The turn down service should be same time each day or just ask guests when they want it as varied 1930-2215! Light switch in bathroom is bad, should be a cord or if switch, outside bathroom please. WiFi could be patchy in certain areas but was good overall.Restaurants - Palms served breakfast buffet, choice of US/English/Continental, eggs/omelettes cooked at station etc, good standard. Lunch served here, buffet or if on FIP choice of menu, good standard. Afternoon tea served here between 4-5pm. Very friendly/efficient staff.Cove - Located about 10min walk from reception or can get driven if less mobile or you are lazy! You walk through spa reception and down stairs. Restaurant looks out on the sea. Menu is a good standard, on FIP you can pay $10 extra for the connoisseur choice of mains. Staff and service superb. Bartleys - Watch the martini strength, they blew my socks off pre dinner! Superb food as per Cove the rib eye was a particular highlight. Once again the staff were on point. If you are on FIP go to Cove and Bartley for dinner over Palms, just book at desk near reception first sitting 1830 last 2130.Grounds, pools, bars etc3 swimming pools, two of which have bars of which Carolyns is best for family pool and main beach. Staff come round with fruit, take orders, bring cold towels etc. Also an adults only pool located 5mins from Carolyns bar, had this to myself for 3 days, so quiet! No problems getting sun beds, towels, no sun bed 'hoggers'. Grounds well kept and an array of flora (hibiscus, palms etc) and fauna (hummingbirds, tree frogs). The sea shelved gently so kid friendly, small bathing platform, if want snorkelling just speak to reception as only saw needle nose fish and Sgt Majors. Watersports included hobbies cats, paddle boards and kayaks. The spa was very good, had a deep tissue massage and well worth $100 for 50min session other treatments available to good standard and worth money. The gym was a good standard and busy pre breakfast as you'd expect, probably only want 8 people max in there. Just see how busy it is at your regular time and go/plan accordingly. The gym opens at 0600 and gets busier from 0645. Only saw two people using tennis court.I would recommend this resort to family and friends looking for a relaxing holiday to a good standard (4.5 stars). The highlights were the staff and quality of evening meals, hopefully the above feedback can be taken on board. Can't wait to come back.
I booked 7 nights at Blue Waters as a surprise for my, then, girlfriend. The real surprise was that I planned to propose and marry her while in Antigua. This obviously required some top notch organisation by the team at Blue Waters to ensure everything went as planned. All the wedding arrangements (the necessary formal legalities as well as the more fun wedding day proceedings) were handled by Mandie and her team. Even before we arrived at Blue Waters, Mandie was extremely helpful and responsive in answering all my (many) questions. Throughout the whole time we were there Mandie seemed to go over and above to ensure everything went perfectly for us - and it did.The resort itself is absolutely beautiful, immaculately kept and situated a quiet part of the island. We were made to feel almost at home by all the staff, who were friendly and helpful in equal measure, giving the resort a wonderful relaxed atmosphere. The resort is not massive, and I think it had full occupancy when we were there. The rooms are spacious and the blocks nicely separated so it doesn't feel crowded at all. The three restaurants, The Cove in particular, are superb. Most residents seemed to eat at the resort so you just need to book your evening meals in advance when you arrive to ensure you get a table.Overall, I can't fault the resort, would recommend to anyone and cannot wait to return. Thanks again Mandie!!
We first came here in June and had such a wonderful time that we decided to re visit again just before Christmas for some winter sun.Well the sun is shinning and the resort feels better the 2nd time around, very impressed that the staff remembered us form our first visit. The food is as great as we remembered and the attention to detail really shows that the whole staff really do care for you. This is not just any hotel this is Blue Waters Resort...say no more!
We had the most delightful stay back in October in a Cove Suite which was just stunning. Where do I start with this review??? Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. The place is impeccably run by the GM Alistair Forrest who is always around and takes a genuine interest in his guests - his deputy Gina is exactly the same and the concierge team for the Cove Suites ensure your stay is everything you want it to be. I have read some negative comments about the staff, the food, the restaurants and the owners! I just didn't experience anything like it! The owners were around during our stay and went out of their way to connect with guests. They were all chipping in with resort enhancements and expected no special treatment. The staff are all delightful and can't do enough for you. The room and mini bar were expertly serviced. The food in all the restaurant was really good - and The Cove was outstanding...the Beef Wellington was to die for! There are six perfectly good house wines on the all-inclusive option and the wine list is reasonabley priced by Caribbean standards, regardless. You want an Espresso Martini and a brandy after dinner? No problem and it's all included..We had no issues in getting reservations either. I travel the world for a living and have stayed for business and pleasure all over the place in a wide range of hotels - some among the top ranking ones. We were so impressed with Blue Waters. It was totally relaxing. Our fellow guests were a mixed and interesting bunch with a wide age range. The grounds, bars and pool area were well serviced and really well kept. The sun-loungers were comfortable and plentiful. The resort is spread out over many acres so you can luxuriate in its beauty and never feel overcrowded. Many guests return time and time again. And having experienced why they do, we shall be joining them. I just need to persuade the husband to treat me to a stay in Rock Cottage for our 20th Anniversary in April...!!
