Stayed in one of the Cove Suites which provided us with ample accommodation. Pleasant room with enough space overlooking an infinit pool and view of the ocean. I found all of the staff to be happy and smiley and this adds to the comfort of the hotel. Regarding the sunbathing situation , there are enough areas to utilise, not only your own pool shared by the Cove suites but 2 or 3 small beaches and a decent bathing platform. The restaurants were of excellent quality , plus the choice of wine, food was delightful. However I have to mention the mosquito problem. My wife was bitten 6 times in 40 minutes of going to the pool plus we couldn't use our balcony because of the issue. That was disappointing and also on the last night we had to use the main restaurant which was also a minus . Please don't let thise put people off as I'm sure they could get rectified as Blue Waters is lovely and 3 things will remind me of the place . Firstly the quality of the food, secondly the quality of the wine and last but not least the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.
I visited this hotel for 2 nights during a business trip. This is a beautiful small property with 110 rooms. The grounds are in wonderful shape with lush and mature vegetation. In general the property is very well taken care of. The views of the ocean are beautiful and elevated since the hotel seats in a small cliff. You have to walk down to the beach which is located in a small bay. The hotel is quite compact so there are not too many areas to stroll around including the beach.Don't expect an expansive beach, it is in fact quite small but charming. Don't expect big pools either. They are also quite small and with no views of the ocean once you are in the water. The pool decks are ok.The food at the restaurant is totally average. Breakfast is ok. You will be better off making dining reservations elsewhere. The service; which is always a problem in Antigua is also ok. Neither the lobby nor the restaurant and bars have air conditioning. Be prepared to sweat and deal with mosquitoes. That's why you come to the Caribbean. Several cats roam around the property. The rooms are dated but still nice and comfortable. The air conditioning works wonderfully. When on a second floor, they offer wonderful terraces with beautiful views. Beds and sheets were quite comfortable. 36" TV is good size with US Programming and CNN London. The bathroom is quite generous with a nice shower with glass partitions and a free standing old style bath tub. One single free standing sink is probably not enough for a couples or family. It seems undersized. Water pressure is not great but you get used to it.The gym is average. Their treadmills need upgrading. The tennis court is surrounded by beautiful vegetation. The souvenir store is average. The Wi-Fi signal drops constantly and it is very slow which is not a problem if you are here on vacation. I did not visit the SPA.This hotel is a good option for a romantic or relaxing get away for a couple of days. I would not recommend this hotel for families with children. Great for non-foodie couples who want to feel secluded and enjoy the sounds of the ocean.
This was our second time to Antigua and we were looking for a beach hotel, close to the airport as we were doing a two centre break. We booked the hotel based primarily on location as we were only staying three nights before heading off to Necker Island.Overall the hotel fitted the bill - with location and facilities ticking the boxes. Service was hit and miss, though there are a few characters at the resort that really embrace customer focused service and really excelled.Having met the General Manager, Alistair, he is without question a customer focused and people centred individual who is keen to get things right. We'd have no hesitation in returning and would recommend to anyone looking to stay in Antigua.
First time in Antigua so decided to do a 2 centre holiday, This hotel is a relatively short drive from the airport, I had taken advantage of their on line check in so were greeted in reception by nothing more troubling than a hot towel and glass of fruit juice, check in took less than 5 minutes and we were soon shown to our room, we were lucky enough to get an upgrade to Pelican Cottage which was absolutely fantastic in terms of both location and facilities. We had taken the all inclusive option which can recommend as good value, Beaches and all Hotel Facilities were first class, any faults would be purely nit picking so I have nothing negative to say whatsoever, tips, get the best room you can afford and take a look at what restaurant is open when and book accordingly. We were out of season so maybe all restaurants will be open all the time in main season, it didn't make any difference to us that not all were open as generally across the island they all seem to be variations on a theme, breakfast is a buffet and has an excellent choice of options served in a great location, ordered room service once and this came promptly and as ordered, Gym really well air conditioned and some decent runs available either direction out of the hotel. All in all I can fully recommend this hotel and was sad to leave it for the second place.
Staying at Rock Cottage is just like being in paradise. The 360 degree views are just breathtaking. An early morning swim to the beautiful palm fringed beach sets you up for a spa treatment with Cecille followed by a spot of sunbathing, cocktails by the pool and a snooze before dinner. AMAZING week. Thank you so much to all the smiley Blue Waters staff who couldn't do enough for us.
