We travelled with a group to Aruba. We stayed for 5 days at this resort. I cannot say enough about the service, cleanliness and friendliness of the staff ! We had a number of events and each was handled perfectly. The food was tasty and plenty of it. The beach is clean and filled with water sports and good service.
Recently stayed at the Marriott and decided to upgrades to the Trade Winds Club. This was my third time staying at this hotel but first time in the Trade Winds Club which is currently located on the 8th floor in the North Tower. I am a Marriott Platinum member so I used points for the ocean from room and paid cash for the club level upgrade at $200.00 per night. Due to the snow storm in Boston we arrived a day early and the hotel did not have rooms amiable in the club level so our first night was in the main hotel, 6th floor. Our room identical to the room that we moved to on our second at in the Trade winds club. So there is not difference in rooms u less you upgrade to the Junior Suite or Governors Suite. That being said both rooms were very nice and large with huge bathrooms. The service at the Trade Winds Club was outstanding. Margaret who is at the main desk was friendly, fun and ver attentive to our needs. I was impressed with the food as well. Breakfast was great as well as lunch. Both are buffet style with ample food. This is not a Residence style buffet!! It is basically the same as in the finer resteraunts in the hotel. I ate wraps and salads at lunch but there were hot buffet items as well.Dinner was served as well at night but we chose to dine out on each night but did enjoy a pre dinner 6PM cocktails nightly with chess and crackers and some sushi rolls. The serve after dinner cocktails at 8pm and desires as well if you happen to be back for an outside dinnerSince this was the busy season the beach was slammed and the Papelas were tough to get even for a Trade Winds Club member which was somewhat frustrating as you have to wait in line at 4pm to reserve for the next day or get up and wait in line at 7am. This is true for the Trade Winds Beach are as well as they allocate 8 for the 4pm line and 8 for the 7am line. Once situated on the beach Hermina who is the attendant is fun and attentive and does great job keeping you in ample water and aloe face towels.Overall the $200.00 extra is probable a break even with costs to stay in the hotel and pay a la carte but the convenience makes it well worth while to stay at he club level with friendly and courteous service I highly recommend it.
We love Marriott hotels and this one is right up there with the best. Excellent service. Great vibe. Beach and pool are amazing. Pool side food and drinks are great too. Rooms are awesome. Work out room is top notch. Lobby bar is fun every night. The location is perfect. At the end of the strip of hotels so it's pretty quiet. Shorty walk down the beach to shops and restaurants. We did not rent a car or take cabs.
Loved the Marriott Stellaris! Ask for a room with an ocean view! (we originally had a partial view which overlooked another hotel...they were kind enough to move us the next day to a room with more of an ocean view .) Since we used Marriott Rewards points for the hotel stay, we splurged and upgraded to the Tradewinds floor. Well worth the price of the upgrade !!!($200 a day per room) Tradewinds floor is adults only, with its own lounge. Price includes hot breakfast buffet, hot lunch buffet, and appetizer/dinner buffet( from 6-7) Soft drinks/beer free all day, open bar from 6-9 in the lounge. Everyone was very nice and very helpful. Only negative...as I had read from others ...the smell of smoke in the lobby and lower floors. They really should close off the casino entrance to try to get rid of the smell.
This was our second stay with family at the Marriott Stellaris. Resort's rooms are large, clean and well serviced by housekeeping. Staff are all very friendly. Great pool for kids with volleyball net and waterfall. Swim up bar( 3 happy hours a day) at pool and a nice large adult only pool on the other side of the resort. Starbucks in lobby for morning coffee. Small casino but perfect if you aren't looking for Vegas. You need to go straight to the beach kiosk where beach and pool towels are located when you arrive to reserve beach chairs if you want one near the oceanfront with a hut for shade. Can only reserve 3 days at a time and can't do in advance of arriving. Cost is $30 a day.Small gym for a resort this size. Go early if you want a treadmill.Love Aruba!
