The elegant Caribbean styled Barcelo Aruba is comprised of two nine-story ocean front buildings. Overlooking the aquamarine sea, guests can relax in the sun, participate in a variety of water sports or try their luck in the casino and dance the night away in the nightclub.

Location: On spectacular Palm Beach, in the heart of the hotel zone, 20 minutes from the airport and 15 minutes to downtown Oranjestad.

LOVE Barcelo Aruba

The only negative that I have is the dryness and tuffness of the mest. I am a dietitian and feel that the cooks need instruction in preparation of the meat so that it remains juicy and tender when served. The only restaurant where we were served delicious was in the L'Olio Restaurant where we had the rack of was EXCELLENT the 4 times that we had it!

Great place to stay, will return.

The resort is very clean, the staff is very courteous, can't wait to go back again! The restaurants were top-of-the line, and the buffet had everything that anyone could ever want. I just wish we didn't have to get up before dawn in order to get a spot at the beach under a hut.

Nine years ago my wife and I discovered our little piece of paradise......Aruba. Since then the first two weeks of February are for us the high light of the year. Guaranteed weather, beautiful beaches and ocean , the wonderful restaurants , and the truly great welcoming Aruban people, make for an ideal vacation. Our home away from home for nine years now has been the Barcelo Grand Aruba and we could not have made a better choice. The positives out weigh any negatives. On the plus side: The Barcelo is a well maintained resort strategically located in the middle of the beautiful iconic Palm beach Aruba. A well manicured, exceptionally clean property, with a beautiful beach and if you chose, a great pool with swim up bar. The service is five star. Ivette, the manager of the First Club, and her associates Marolyn and Belinda, from the moment you check in, make you feel like family and will do everything within their power to insure a perfect stay. They are professional, competent, and you know they care. If you stay in the Royal club, Sandra the Royal Club manager, offers the exact same qualities and she will make sure to also optimize your visit. Since the Barcelo has taken over we noticed an upgrade in the property and a small upgrade in the food. Our criticisms are that a quality resort such as this must improve the size and quality of their fitness center. Also, this is an all inclusive hotel and while we have noticed improvement in the restaurants we think they can do better and the management suggests that is their goal. All things considered, this is a top tier resort, with outstanding personnel, that has us happily returning for nine years and counting. Once you come here we are sure you will return as well. Barcelo is one happy resort on one happy Island!

Still My Favorite!

We just returned from our 4th annual visit to the Barcelo and it remains our favorite place to stay. Why it's ranked only #18 out of 24 is beyond me. So many people that we've met there have said that they've stayed at other, larger hotels and that now the Barcelo is the only place that they would consider coming to.The beach there is gorgeous and always immaculate and, while obtaining a palapa is still a bit of a hassle, it's worth getting up early to get one. The drink service has greatly improved since its inception last year and our server, Gerald, is the hardest-working, friendliest guy you would ever want to meet. He never forgot to stop by to ask if we needed anything or even just to say hello. His fellow servers were also great in both their efficiency and attitude.Further shout-outs belong to:Pasan, Dale and Joseph at the Aruban seafood restaurantEdgard at the Mexican restaurantSandra Steba and Marco at the Royal Club and last, but not leastLorena, who always ensures that our requests are carried out to the letter. Hotel needs updating

Just returned from Barcelo Aruba on February 13, 2018. First let me start by saying, vacations are what you make of them and we did have a good time. For the positives, the complex was clean, was located within walking distance of shopping and additional bars and restaurants. We always felt safe. The restaurants in the hotel were good, however, it was difficult to get reservations so I suggest you try to make reservations the day you arrive. The buffets had a wide variety of food and always had fresh fruit available. Of all the all inclusive resorts we stayed at, this one had the best desserts. The bartenders were not stingy with liquor in their drinks and at times, we had to tell them to go light with the liquor. All the staff was very friendly. For the negatives, getting a chair at the pool was almost impossible. A lot of the chairs were broken. They should remove the beds near the pool and replace them with lounge chairs to accommodate more people. The only way to truly have a chair at the pool was to set your alarm for 4 or 5 am and go down to the pool and place towels on chairs. Reserving chairs should not be allowed unless someone is sitting there reserving them until the pool opens. This allows everyone a chance to get a chair. The same was true for the beach. People lined up at 5 am just to get chairs at the beach. I sure didn’t want to do that on my vacation! The resort is dated and requires updating but was clean.
