Brickell Bay Beach Club
- What's Included
Our room was not ready at 3 and there were several others also waiting for rooms. The rooms were ok but the linens were ultra thin....for the price there are too many other hotels in the area. The front desk receptionist was rude and not helpful....she was not wearing a name badge and I suspect she didn't want anyone reporting her poor attitude.
I honestly wasn't expecting much because of reading previous review, but I was pleasantly surprised. The staff here is very friendly! They ensure you are having a good time and go out of their way to meet your needs. The rooms are nothing special, but for the rate that I paid ($1,200) for 6 nights I was satisfied + a King size bed never hurts! What was included in the $1,200 hotel stay? A lot!!! Although Brickell Bay is not an all inclusive I honestly preferred it that way. With so much to taste in Aruba please do yourself a favor and avoid the confines of an all-inclusive. Along with hotel accomodations, which was a spacious room and a cute pool we received breakfast daily, $100 for dining, 4 complimentary drinks during our stay, $80 credit with Pelican Tours AND a bottle of champagne. Now let's compare this to the Riu or even Bavaro with average nights starting at $300-$500 a night, which may give you just as much but is over priced if you're an adventure junkie like me. For a couple that spent barely any time in the hotel because we were too busy exploring the Island I would highly recommend the Brickell Bay over its lush competitors.
We chose this hotel because it was the affordable hotel on Palm beach. The location is excellent just across street from beach and right by the posh 5 star hotels. However you get what you pay for! The beds were springy and sheets were thin. The walls were also thin we had a connecting room and can hear the family next door completely. The worse was our room 434 was facing the Sands bar/club and they played the music extremely loud! We couldn't sleep til the music stopped which meant 3:30am on a saturday night and 1am on a Sunday. We asked to be moved after the first night but hotel was sold out. I understand that this is beyond the hotels control since the bar is just beside theirs but I tried to get a credit on my room rate since I did not get to sleep both nights I was there but they didn't want to give any. Its unfortunate bec when you're on vacation you want to relax. If you stay here make sure you don't get the room facing the bar!
There are so many reasons why this hotel was the worst. 1. I arrived at 3pm from Atlanta, and I was told that my room wasnt ready. I had to wait 2 hours for someone, and I finally went back to the front desk, when they decided to give me a completely different room. No explanations or anything. 2. When I finally got my room, the door was so hard to open, and it wouldnt unless I body slammed myself against the door. I asked to have it fixed, but they never came, and I stayed at the hotel for one week, constantly having to body slam myself against the door. 3. Our Dehumidifier wasn't working and we asked several times for someone to come and fix it. There were puddles of water all over the floor, and we kept falling trying to walk on the slippery wet floor. I finally told a lady at the restaurant that it wasnt working, and she demanded the manager come look at it. He finally came 3 days into our trip to work on it.4. The battery for the door (where you slide your key card in) kept dying on our room. It died 7 TIMES! Each time we had to wait 30 minutes for someone to come and open the door for us. This happened late in the evening one time and had to wait 1 hour for someone to come and let us in to our room, when we were so tired. When I go on vacation, I expect to be able to relax, and if I have an issue, I pay a lot of money to have good customer service. Every day was a struggle at Brickell Bay, and every day I had another issue with the room and the customer service. Not only that, but every time I complained to the front desk, they really didn't care about fixing any of the issues that I was having. If you want a stressfree vacation, then I would HIGHLY recommend that you stay anywhere but the Brickell Bay Resort (it shouldnt even be called a "resort")
We booked this hotel , because they offerED deal* deluxe package -online, ** if you book 4 nights they give you free couple massage and pelican tour. After we checked in, i Asked where is my voucher for free massage, i should ask before i checked in*** manager told me , wait I am busy with another guest,, after 2.5 hours, i told him am I a guest too,, Shariffa from reservation, new about this deal , but she had day off when-- we tried to check in, This is very long story, they don't treat customers as it should be, worst customers service, no welcome, thank you..etc.. we booked that package, it says free upgrade to deluxe room,** when we got deluxe room, there was broken tile, Molds & dry roots , room stinks like a mold,** room 111, no privacy , no balcony Hotel doesn't have a balcony rooms, just may be 4. you can't even open window, Which we must, because of smell, first floor next to entrance , SO we made an appointment for COUPLE MASSAGE **, When we came , lady said we can do 1 person at a time, WOW!! i said is this couple massage?? should be 60 minutes, my husband had only 30 minutes massage,, the worse massage i ever had.. we travel all over the world, i never had such a bad experience, , it offers FREE RIDE to THE BEACH , when we asked to give us a ride they said you have to wait 45 minutes because only 1 person, only 2 palapa on a beach hotel has 98 rooms, , no SHADE on a beach....**Just don't go to this hotel, don't make same mistake as we did.***** we waist whole day while we booked in, we paid for rental car , we should go arouNd island , had reservation to restaurant, but slow service, took away our day..JUST DONT GO TO THIS HOTEL!!!
