Brickell Bay Beach Club
- What's Included
The "spa" is a little hut in the back. Their pool closes at 630pm. There is no refrigerator or any food type things in the room. The water was cold. The staff bring you Hershey kisses in the evenings looking for a tip. The beach is blocked by a bigger hotel and across the street. You're by the high rises so very busy area with lots of tourist restaurant and stores. Breakfast was either a basket of bread or arepas which have poor flavoring. The restaurant is in front which serves breakfast and the staff are annoyed to serve you. We stayed for 10 days and our sheets were never changed. But the staff are very friendly and helpful. There is orange infused water in the lobby which is great. Nice building and decor.
Lucky for me my company pays for the hotel as I would feel hustled if i had to pay from my own pocket for this sad leftover of a once hotel. I've stayed in many bad hotels all over the world with my work and this one tops the worst 3.Rooms are worn out completely, Aircon noisy as a running truck and a dehumidifyer adding more decibel to the rumble. On top of this the south side of the hotel faces an outdoor disco that goes on to somewhere between 1 am and 4 am with loud bass making the windows tremble. Floor is slippery and damp, bathrooms with mirrors that are foggy from age, hinges falling off on doors, cracked tiles in room and bathroom, Attempts made to repair here and there with silicone that looks like it was made by a 4 year old. Rust everywhere on faucets, showerheads aircon. Moldy smell from aircon. No desk in some rooms just a tiny round couch table. Windows so dirty you cannot see what is going on outside, No additional outlets to charge your electronics. Wheels under the bed that made it roll uncontrolled around on the slippery floor floor, I wonder how far a happy couple would be rolling. WI-FI very slow.On the plus side staff is friendly, location is good if you're into tourist mayhem. But generally the building needs a good old demolition. And my goodness Aruba is EXPENSIVE!!!
I've never stayed in such a place not even at home. I left the a/c on all night to dampen the noise from the adjacent club next door and woke up to a wet floor from the condensation.Tv was a 20" or whatever . The bathroom shower faucets leaked everywhere. Tub even had silicone covering cracks in the tub. Never ever will I stay there . First time in Aruba in a prime location and a hotel like this should be looked into. The pool area needed your room card to get in and out of the area with you card like your in prison. Pictures are very deceiving .
Having travelled all over the work due to my occupation I've stayed in some stayed in many hotels which were provided by my company which have been average to say the least but the Brickell Bay took the standard to a new level, unfortunately down the way! The hotel is dingy, the room I had was dated and needs to be refurbished. The air con is either on or off, on the room is freezing and off me as you have a very slippery and dangerous floor due to the dampness in the room. The sheets on the bed weren't clean and had black granules all over them, I brought this to the attention of the receptionist only to be told they were clean. My colleague also had the pleasure of a cockroach for company in his room. Not a pleasant experience to say the least. If you read this review then please don't stay at the Brickell Bay unless there are no other alternatives!
This hotel is getting old. The A/C in the room is old and moldy. You can't control the thermostat so you can't change the temperature if you are cold or hot! Also, the fan in the room is very loud and has only one speed. It goes really fast and It feels like it would fall on your head! Finally, we saw cockroaches in the room, mold basically everywhere and the door that leads to the hallway was falling off the hinges, we almost got locked out because the door was not hanging on the hinges! I would probably not stay here again.
