Bucuti and Tara Beach Resort
- What's Included
This hotel was everything we expected. Clean, quiet, relaxing and great service. We were so grateful we chose this property because I don't care for crowds and noisy people. When we went to Palm Beach to do a snorkeling tour I couldn't believe how crowded it was compared to Eagle Beach. We definitely made the right choice. We also enjoyed the daily breakfast on property and a couple evening meals as well. Wonderful food and service. It was a Mother/ Daughter trip and I was afraid we would feel out of place since it's a popular honeymoon spot, but we completely felt comfortable. The best part was that there was no stress in finding available beach chairs each day and when we did go in the beautiful clear water, most of the time we had it to ourselves. There was so much to like about this resort and maybe one day we will be able to return. Our trip was in June of 2016 as a treat to my daughter who finished her first year of teaching. If you are a teacher, you will love this place because there are No children so you can completely relax without the noise!!
Exactly what it says on the tin! Lovely hotel, great staff, excellent food, great facilities. Eagle beach is the best we’ve been on for a long time. Super island very friendly people. The dehumidifier in the room does rattle a bit but I found it helped to drown out the sound of my husbands snoring. All the staff go the extra mile nothing is too much trouble everyone has been very helpful and friendly... special thanks to Toine and Simone for their gout help and assistance, Dragon fruit Rik, Frank for his insight on the trips we went on (bumpy bumpy was spot on!). Thank you for making our anniversary celebrations special.
My husband and I came to Aruba this week to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. It was our first time to Aruba and to Bucuti. We absolutely feel in love with the hotel and know why so many people return here year after year. We stayed the a Tara suite which was so spacious and clean. One of the nicest rooms/hotels we have stayed at in the Caribbean. We were greeted with messages on the door and an anniversary treat upon our arrival. Check-in was a breeze and the concierges will make any dining reservations you request. The staff are so friendly, I don't think I meet one that didn't greet us welcomingly. There is a great outdoor bar with great bartenders. Loved how they had two happy hours a day, 4-6pm and 9-10pm. The gym has plenty of great equipment and was never crowded. The free breakfast was that of an average hotel, but very plentiful and fresh, definitely a plus to have. There are lots of chairs with umbrellas. It is true you have to get downstairs by 7am to reserve a front row chair, but there are plenty of others and you can see the ocean from all of them. Other resorts on the islands we passed had chairs right on top of each other, not Bucuti. Plenty of room to feel like you were alone of the beach. I loved how the chairs had flags on them to put up if you wanted drink service. I like that better than having someone keep coming up to me and asking if I want anything. The beach has nice white sand and the water was very refreshing, not to cold and not to hot, it was perfect. The only thing I didn't like about the beach was the oil tanks you could see in the distance in the ocean. Kind of an eye sore. I was nervous about rain during our trip, seeing it is the rainy season in Aruba and unfortunately we had more than I expected for the short time we were there. The first three days were gorgeous, the third we had 1/2 day of rain and our last day has been dark clouds all day. I would probably pick a non-rainy season next time. The only other thing that bothered me a little was the return guests are definitely treated and given more special attention than new comers. I experienced this first hand when I asked a lady sitting next to me at happy hour what she was drinking and she said this is my special drink Juan makes me every year we come. I asked for the same thing and was told he needed to check with the kitchen if he could do it b/c they didn't have the fruit at the bar. He did end up making it for me, but seemed bothered where as the repeat guest he was more than happy to fill her request. It wasn't a big deal, but I did see it all over the resort how repeats are given more attention.I loved the outdoor movie option, unfortunately the movie being played during our visit was not one we cared to see, so we skipped it, but i loved the idea.We did the dinner on the beach one night which was nice. Overall, I would come back to this resort in a heartbeat if we visit Aruba again. We loved the resort and staff. I highly recommend this hotel to couples looking for a relaxing, quiet getaway.
I hesitate to write a glowing review for Bucuti and Tara because I do not want to encourage more people to find our hidden gem! Bucuti and Tara is a beautiful small, boutique like resort on a picture perfect beach tucked away from all the hustle and chaos of the resort areas of Aruba. Please read the website, including "what we are not". They do a wonderful job at explaining what they offer, and what they do not offer. For my husband and I this is exactly what we want on vacation; a clean, quiet place where you do not have to fight for a beach chair or wait in line for a drink. Their service is amazing! From the moment Frank greets you as you pull up you are made to feel like you are the only guests that matter. The staff makes it a point to get to know you and personally greets you where ever you go. Big shout out to Jessica, John, "Silky" :) and Karen for making our beach/bar time so fun. The concierges do an amazing job with reservations for anything you may desire to do or anywhere you would like to eat. We met some amazing people from all over the world. Already booked for next year!
It really surpassed my expectations! I just loved it. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms that were made twice a day and close to bedtime when we arrived in the room our bed was without cushions and ready to sleep (I have never seen this kind of care at other resort). The breakfast was delightful, the resort beach was unbelievable.I only have two criticisms: I found the service at the pool very time consuming and not personalized, as we found at the hotel. Another point is that in the hotel all were wonderful when we arrived and we were very impressed with so many details, but at our check out we waited for some time, everyone only paid attention to those who arrived. I think it would be a point to improve, because the ideal is that the host stays enchanted in the arrival and departure, because we can one day want to return or not.But overall it was wonderful and if they improved the pool service and the departure of guests, I think it would be the best hotel.
