My wife and I came here for our Honeymoon. We had heard about this place through and friend and she could not say enough good things. We arrived to the resort around 3pm and were greeted by Frank who said with the biggest smile on his face, "Welcome home!". Frank took our bags and guided us to one of the Concierge gentleman who escorted us to our room, all the while pointing out different areas of the resort. He guided us through the ins and outs of our room, as well as times and locations of happenings around the resort. The entire resort had WiFi, which was nice for quick email checks and phone calls home. He was great and I really wish I remembered his name (Tall, caucasian, glasses). From there we immediately headed to the beach to catch a few hours of sun. Beach attendant Robert met us as we were getting settled and welcomed us to the resort and to the island. He was so personable and happy, it made us feel like we could truly relax and just enjoy the beach and beverages. The beach is huge and there are enough beach umbrellas and chairs for everyone. The service was fast, and happy hour ran from 4p-6p. Although there is a restaurant at the resort we chose to go out for dinner each night except for one. Sunita at the concierge desk was so sweet and helpful in making reservations at various places. One of the restaurants kept ringing busy so she allowed us to continue on with our plans and she would leave a message once she got through to them. We had a few drinks at the bar and when we got back to our room Sunita had left us a message with our reservation information for each night. We ate breakfast at the resort every morning (which is included). It is a buffet-style breakfast, which was nice because we could pop in (without reservations) and grab a quick bite before hitting the beach. Throughout the week Robert and Manuel were our beach attendants. Manuel was just a great as Robert. Each took an interest in where we were from and why we chose Aruba. They gave us little pointers on activities to do off the resort, and recommended places to eat. After our one week stay (too short) we had to leave. As we were checking out the young lady at the checkout desk made a quick call and asked if the owner was available to see us off. THE OWNER of the resort! Two minutes later the owner, Mr Biemans, showed up and thanked us for choosing his resort. He seemed truly grateful that we were his guests and even asked if there was anything that he or his staff could improve upon. This was the cherry on top. I doubt any other owners of a resort of this caliber would do this. We were truly amazed at how friendly EVERYONE on the island is. Aruba is, as their motto states, "One Happy Island". Can't wait to come back!
enjoyed a week-long stay for our honeymoon last week, and took the liberty of booking another stay next year before we even left!my husband and i stayed in the bucuti side, and agreed that for the little time spent in the room, that we made the best choice- the rooms and amenities were great. review after review will tell you that there are a few things that make bucuti such the gem that it is. first and foremost, the staff. every.single.person. is happy to see you all the time, and will go out of their way to help! our absolute favorite would have to be karen at the sandbar; she is a ray of sunshine! next, the beach. not crowded whatsoever! the beach is quiet, chairs are comfortable, and there is always a chair waiting no matter the time of day. lastly, there is a real sense of community. it was nice to walk the resort and see familiar faces day in and day out. we made friends with a few other couples during our stay, and would always meet up for happy hour, dinner, or a late night splash in the pool! we truly miss the island, the resort, and the friends made and can't wait to visit again next year! we even booked our dates with two other couples for a reunion!
A very nice resort, however if you are a smoker this resort is not for you. We were on honeymoon and heard that this is a very romantic hotel. IT IS NOT! The hotel is above average. Food is good, staff are very friendly, clean, nice pool, nice beach (although the surf made getting in and out of the sea quite a challenge) good access to other areas of the island. No complaints at all apart from a total lack of privacy. The ground floor suites have a wonderful view of the beach and gardens, however, to enjoy the view you need to keep the curtains open, therefore anybody walking past can see straight into your room. We chose this hotel because of it's high rating on trip advisor. Expectations were very high, and unfortunately this place did not reach them.
This is the second time we have stayed here . It is every thing you could wish for . I have stayed in many hotels all over the world and the staff here are second to none . Each & everyone of them you meet cannot do enough for you . They are a dedicated team so happy In their every day workplace ,the hotel manager is always around to talk to .I cannot commend them enough . The hotel , pool, reception, gardens, bedrooms , corridors all spotless .seems to have loving care. The owner comes in every day which shows total professionalism. How a place is run always starts at the top . Twone on reception helped me with my I phone & updated it for me . Nothing is too much trouble.Food is excellent no matter which meal you choose .Our Tara suite was very comfortable in fact I can't fault anything Love it.We were delayed for 5 hrs & Neild the resort manager offered us our room back to shower & change in. This was a very kind gesture as check out time was 12pm& we were not leaving until 8.30pm for the airport . Another excellent example of the customer care this hotel gives.
We stayed here in September for our honeymoon, and LOVED it! We paid extra for the sea view and it was definitely worth it! The view of the sea from the room took my breath away. We were greeted with a welcome drink which was well needed after a 9 hour flight! In our room, a bottle of sparkling wine, bar of chocolate, block of cheese and biscuits had been left for us. The staff were all fantastic, everyone speaks to you as you pass them and they always have a smile on their face, it is clear to see why it is known as the happy island!Frank, the concierge gave us a very friendly welcome when we arrived, and was always on hand for recommendations on where to go, places to eat etc. Jessica and John are great fun down at the Sandbar (which do delicious happy hour cocktails), and even knew our order by the end of the stay! Always happy to help. The restaurant food is really lovely, although the service was a little bit slow (which was fine for us, we weren't in a rush). The room was OK, had everything that we needed and was clean. Wouldn't say it was amazing, but was worth the compromise for the view. The beach was the best that we saw on the island, it is very clean, soft sand. Lovely walk down to the water from the sun loungers, and the beach so big that it never feels crowded. They also do beach service during the day, which is great when you are feeling lazy!If you are looking for crazy nights out, you may be better staying in the high rise hotels down the road. There are a few places to eat nearby and a casino, everything else is a short taxi ride away (which suited us, and the taxis have a fixed fee).Would also recommend the ABC all day tour to get out and see the Island, that was great fun - but very bumpy!
