Bucuti Beach Resort
- What's Included
Our stay at the Bucuti was fantastic. From the moment the taxi door opens Frank the doorman is welcoming you to the Bucuti and from that point on the entire staff is welcoming and friendly. We have stayed before and this place is amazing. During our stay these individuals made our stay even more special; Mario, Martin, Nakarid, Frank, Nancy( makes GREAT omelettes),the guys that service you while you are at your beach chairs all day & Esmaral who was our housekeeper during our stay. There were many more to mention. We are looking forward to our stay next year.
Based upon TripAdvisor, I made a reservation here for the end of May. I made a mistake with my reservation online (I chose the wrong dates), and they were very helpful and responsive with the issue. I greatly appreciate this and this bodes very well for my future travel!
We've just returned from our 3rd visit and are already looking forward to next year. There are so many things that I could say, most have already been said, but the Bucuti and wonderful staff deserve them to be said again. The hotel, grounds, rooms and most of all, the staff are excellant. We had a Standard room as we don't spend much time in it but there is nothing standard about the quality or the facilities. The bathroom is a good size, bright lighting, walk in shower, hot water and a large shower head, with a powerful hairdryer. All bliss after a hot day sunbathing or sightseeing. There is an impressive breakfast selection of fruit, cereal, pastries, meats, cheeses, smoked salmon, fruit juice, breads, bacon, scrambled eggs, potatoes, drop pancakes, french toast, eggs cooked to order, waffles etc.Customer Service is a top priority here. Unlike big chain hotels, where you can feel invisible, all staff make eye contact, acknowledge you, smile and say"Hello".This was our 3rd visit and we were greeted with "Welcome Home" and hugs by the Sandbar team in the evening when we arrived. Amazingly, JuanCarlos, Greg and Jessica remembered our favourite drinks from last year. More hugs from Michael and Nakarid at Breakfast. It is a lovely feeling of visiting our Aruban family.Michael was aware it was our Anniversary and arranged for us to have Bucks Fizz one morning with our Breakfast. It was a lovely surprise, totally unexpected, much appreciated and made us feel very special. What superb Customer Service. The beach is amazing, with picture postcard white sand, loungers well spaced apart and always some available so no need to set the alarm to get up early to reserve one, you can have a lie in and relax. The loungers have a flag to raise should you require anything. Robert and Orville deserve a special mention for their attentive and friendly service. The staff all want to ensure that their guests enjoy their stay to a maximum. This includes Mr Biemans, the owner, who is visible and approachable and can regularly be seen stopping to talk to guests, asking questions to check how things are going, to be sure that they are having the best experience and that their expectations are being met. We spoke to Mr Biemans (twice in one day) to discuss the renovations and changes since last year. This is our annual special treat to ourselves. With grown up children, families and elderly parents to consider throughout the year, this is our week, just for us and the Bucuti is the ideal choice as it provides Peace, Tranquility, First Class Customer Service, Pampering and most of all Relaxation.
Mr. Biemans has arguably created one of the most romantic, tranquil resorts in the Caribbean. Much has already been said about the stunning location, intimate sphere, well-appointed rooms and suites, great restaurant food, etc. All of these things are true and more. But what really sets this resort apart from others is how well guests are treated and made to feel like friends. For most of the staff, no question or request is too much to ask. This was true from the welcoming, professional front desk/concierge personnel (special mention here of Toine), to every single one of the fabulous bar staff (special mention of John, Aldrick and Jessica), security (Mario), housekeeping (Jasmine) and beach towel service (Beverly). And both Orville and Robert of the red flag beach service were so good at anticipating wishes and needs that the flag virtually became redundant. The Elements restaurant personnel were all just as amazing - with the exception of one – supervisor David. Many Bucuti guests stay to celebrate anniversaries, birthdays or some other special occasion and we were no exception. We have to say our stay was really wonderful except for the one night we wanted to be special - our anniversary dinner at Elements. Unfortunately, this was spoiled for us by restaurant supervisor David, who appeared far more interested in his own sense of self-importance than in upholding the high customer service standards that Bucuti has become renowned for. Whilst addressing the matter with him, the unwavering smirk on his face revealed his delight in our deep disappointment. (What a pity that Asst. Restaurant Mgr Robert Zara wasn’t on duty that night as he understands how to treat guests). No details of the incident need to be outlined here as we later discussed those with Resort Manager Rik - who was fantastic and did what he could to ensure the rest of our holiday was everything we hoped it would be - fabulous. Unfortunately, that special day comes only once a year and we travelled a very long way to celebrate it. We later heard through the Bucuti grapevine that David deliberately spoiled our night because he “wanted to show he was the boss”. Whether or not that is true, one thing certainly is - his attitude and behavior were not in keeping with those of the other resort staff nor with Bucuti standards.
We stayed in one of their Standard rooms (least expensive) and it was absolutely beautiful! The shower was incredible, bed was comfortable. Lots of nice features in the room like a full length mirror, drawers for toiletries in the bathroom, and a make-up mirror. All the food at the breakfast buffet was excellent. Grounds are gorgeous. Service was over the top- for example, one morning it rained and as we stepped outside we were greeted by an employee with an umbrella to escort us to breakfast! Highly recommend this resort if you like luxury.
