The Divi Aruba Phoenix is a superb property. It is within walking distance (10 minutes) to all the great restaurants and shopping of the high rise area of Aruba yet far enough away to have some peace and quiet. The grounds, pool, and beach area were always clean and the staff encountered was very friendly and helpful. Being at the end of the high rise strip, the beaches always had plenty of room to spread out and were never congested. The room was huge (one bedroom suite) and had great amenities that were all in great condition (washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, stove, dishes, glasses, full size refrigerator). All the rooms offered a breathtaking view of the blue-green ocean water. The concierge desk could not be more helpful. They patiently worked with us and helped us figure out what attractions would best fit our family. The restaurants and deli on property all provided excellent quality food and the mini market supplied all the staples needed for breakfast and lunch in your room if you choose to make it yourself. This was our first time to Aruba and our first time staying at a Divi resort. I can clearly state that it won't be our last for either. The Divi Aruba Phoenix offered a family and budget friendly vacation and helped us create memories to last a lifetime.
My first stay was at Divi Golf. Loved everything about it, but as a senior you needed to drive to get to main pool, beach and restaurants. We went to Divi Phoenix last year and loved it. Much smaller in size, but it was perfect for seniors and families w small children. We stayed in a unit, ground floor. Our outer balcony was steps from beach, pool and restaurant as was parking. A very short ride to supermarket and the strip of off site restaurants and casinos. Highly recommend.
We booked a one bedroom unit with a full kitchen at the Divi Phoenix resort for our first trip to Aruba. Our room was not ready when we arrived so we spent a bit of time scoping out the property. As soon as we entered the room, we recoiled at the smell of urine. The room was also only a studio with no safe. We returned to the desk to request the room we had reserved and were told that we would have to wait because they would need time to remove some complementary fruit and drink items from another room that they would then assign to us. In our opinion, after the waits and the room error, a good faith gesture would have been to leave those items for us. Once we finally moved our things to the one bedroom unit, it smelled pleasant and had a nice granite / updated kitchen and bathroom. The property is in a good location on the beach and within walking distance to a supermarket and many restaurants. We did not eat there but we did enjoy cocktails at their beach bar. The wi-fi is frustrating at best. Since it is included in the mandatory resort fee, Phoenix should at least ensure it works at an adequate speed. As with other resorts, Divi Phoenix has a major problem with the 7AM pool chair hogs. It is ridiculous that, in order to secure a chair on vacation, one must arise early and claim a spot. Management should enforce their posted policies by 1) removing any towels reserving chairs before 8/9AM and 2) remove any towels reserving chairs that are not being used for several hours throughout the day. From our balcony, we saw chairs being saved around 7AM and then guests only arriving to use them after lunch. On Sunday the power was out half a day. Other resorts, restaurants and grocery stores had backup generators that kicked on immediately, but at the Phoenix, we were without power for at least half a day. They also advertised live entertainment daily but a couple of times it was a no go. I’m uncertain whether we would choose this place again if we returned to Aruba. It is nice that the property is on the end of the strip of beach and not squeezed in between other resorts.
Everyone loves our beach. It's wonderful to have a consistent staff and team who treat you like family year after year. 17 years and counting. So happy to just walk out and be on the beach. Everyone cares about quality vacation care.
We stayed in a one-bedroom condo that was spacious for 2 people. A full kitchen, 2 baths and comfortable king sized bed. It was clean and well decorated. The only issue was the sofa in the living room. It was old and uncomfortable. I heard that the resort is updating all the furniture, but haven't done the building (7) we stayed in. The sofa is a pull-out and I can't imagine it would be at all comfortable. Daily towel change and garbage clearing was great! Good on-site restaurant, but doesn't compare to all the great restaurants in the area. Staff were friendly and helpful.
