Divi Village Golf & Beach Resort
- What's Included
- All Inclusive Features
FOR starters, this was our 6 time in ARUBA... we usually stay up the beach at a lovely small resort that excels in staff friendliness and food.. THIS time we decided on an ALL INCLUSIVE and spent nearly $6000 for the room for 9 days. To start, the room they gave us was very tired, broken lamp shades hanging off the lamp, soap dispensers in bathroom missing, chipped paint and a sewer cover right outside our door. This was rectified to a MUCH better room the next day. THAT being said and this being located on ONE BEAUTIFUL beach , the food was pure GRADE C institutional/ bad cruise food .. old , over salted ,dried out fruit.. The best you could do were the fresh cooked breakfasts buffets/eggs .. the coffee watered down, the juices from the dispenser tasted like powered drinks (ALA TANG).. EVERYTHING was loaded with sodium , some nighst the bread they served at the table was hard as ocean coral and the waiters would grunt when you asked for fresh bread or butter ! The alcohol was watered down unless you were flashing money for a tip. NOW I know this is an all inclusive, BUT seriously this was unacceptable for this amount of $$$$. The food often came dressed up nicely , but some nights I commented that they had just removed the carrot cake from a LIL DEBBIE wrapper or a PEPPERIDGE FARM box !!!! SOME of the nightly entertainment was like something from a cheap cruise ship , forced and uninteresting !!!I will NEVER step foot in DIVI ARUBA again.. not when there are so MANY wonder places to saty and eat on this terrific island
Pro's:-The BEACH!!-The infinity pool is lovely.-Windows has excellent food.-Front desk staff and shuttle staff were amazing. They were prompt and exceedingly nice. We made friends with a few. -Rooms are spacious, clean, kitchens updated stocked full of appliances (for the most part) - ours was huge**********Fray (shuttle driver/bellboy -whistles like a bird) is an asset to the hotel. We watched him with special needs guests, and I just don't think that there are many out there like him. Cons:-The swim up bar closes very early at 5:30 - not sure why they do this? Pools all close at 8pm-The towel lady at the infinity pool would rather not be there. She was rude to me, and to other guests throughout our stay-This hotel is sprawled out, so be prepared to wait for the golf cart taxi's to pick you up or be prepared to walk.-Not beach front-Our room had a washer and dryer (dryer did not work)-Water temperature in room was either extreme hot or extreme cold. One day there was no cold water available at all and other guests had issues where water did not turn on at all.-Climate control in the rooms is a little off. Our clothes were never quite dry, and the bedding was also slightly damp. Because of the humidity and the dampness of the sheets/bedding, it didn't smell that great.-The waitstaff at the Seabreeze were awful. The worst we experienced on our trip. They were rude and unaccommodating (both times we went). The bartenders at the Seabreeze were fabulous.-There is a man that walks around the grounds offering drugs to people. Another guest said that he was an employee? As an adult, this didn't bother me (we told him to move along), but I would be concerned about this if my children were with me. After travelling around the entire island, I have to say that I found Divi Beach to be one of the best. The palapa's are hard to come by unless you are out at least by 7am, but there are plenty of chairs and the beach is not as crowded as others. It is just gorgeous!
I love this Divi Property, Every year there is something new added, or something I learned from the last time. 1st I want to say that the WIFI is greatly improved, we had no trouble getting WIFI anywhere, in our rooms, by the pool. And when we were in Mulligans they had a different password and were great about giving it to you. This year we learned from another guest that you could take the tram all the way past the DIVI properties, all the way down to BUCUTI & TARA BEACH RESORT, There were so many restaurants down that way, and we saved a lot on Taxi Fare. We went to The Chop House, Riccardos, and there were so many more we can try next time (we only learned this on Thursday of our stay). The rooms were freshly painted, the appliances seemed brand new. No hot water the first two days, but that was fixed. My only complaint, and it is everyone's complaint, you can't get a seat at the big pool. You would think they would realize, that people who are "saving the seats" and not down by the pool are not drinking at that great bar, nor buying food at the Infinity Grill. Two things that we did not get to do this year because at 9am, all seats were covered with towels. One big group of 10 had t-shirts over the back of each chair, every day we were there, and they were almost never there as a group of 10. I go to enjoy the pool, and although I was able to find seats at the smaller pool (where I brought my own drinks and food), I was disappointed, and felt I was cheated this year. I thought about moving towels, but two women had a all out brawl because someone moved towels.
We own a timeshare at this resort and return every year during the same week to spend time with our friends. The rooms are well equipped and the grocery stores are just like what we are used to in the U.S. There are numerous restaurants to choose from as well as entertainment in the evening.
Simply a wonderful vacation!!! Pool area was awesome, friendly bartenders! Every morning we would bring our towels down to the beach then the chair man would lay out our towels under a hut. Always came back to a fresh cleaned room. Had a great view of the golf course! Oh ya, they even upgraded us to a suite!!! Deff returning next year, we fell in love with the resort and the island itself!!! Weather was perfect !!
