An all suite resort with luxury villas on the golf course, Divi Village Golf & Beach Resort is located across the street from the mile long Druif Beach, centered within the Links at Divi Aruba Golf Course.
 
Location: On the Divi Aruba Golf Course at Druif Beach, 10 minutes from Oranjestad and 30 minutes from airport.

Room to improve

6 nite stay with my family of 5 celebrating our 15yr anniversary. After arriving to our 1 bedroom 2 bath suite we found 2 towels, 1 wash cloth, 4 pillows, and no linens for the pull out sofa bed. 2 of the 6 nites we had no wash cloth at all and the 5th pillow never showed up at all. The private hot tub was full of sand and the personal grill still covered with pieces of grilled chicken. I get the dirty grill I guess but the lack of linen and necessary towels is unacceptable at any accommodation let alone one of this caliber. The property is largely time share occupied verse all inclusive guests and although we all had a wrist band on indicating we were all inclusive guests, we had to give a band number, room number, and print our name on a check for EVERYTHING we drank and ate at this property. While at all the other property dinning options and bars no one ever asked to verify anything. This made it difficult at the infinity pool bar and grill. All inclusive guests were competing for the attention of bartenders who were more interested in serving time share guests who get a mandatory 15% gratuity added to their tabs.....who could blame them right? My 11 year old was never once recognized for service without my wife or I having to swim over, not once! I even tested this twice, once by seeking service next to a non inclusive guest we met, and witnessed drinks get made "softer" for All inclusive members. We ordered the exact same drink, exact same time, instead of mixing a double in the blender the tender made the drinks separately and only poured the rum down the straw of the All Inclusive guest drink verse pouring it into the blender like the time share guest's. Worst of all we made a reservation at Windows, we reviewed the menu online before going to ensure there was something for my wife and kids, we were offered a menu with only 3 entrees if I remember, 2 fish, and 1 beef; yet tables around us were being served things not on the menu presented to us? Our itemized check we had to sign had "AI" for All Inclusive in front of each item suggesting the menu was limited because we were all inclusive guests. We prebooked an excursion with our travel agent. We went to concierge to inquire when and where to meet and they told us the tour has been out of service for about a week due to parts needed for the submarine, again I guess we would have expected someone to inform us before 7pm the nite before so we could make other plans? Fast forward to the bill being placed on our door the morning before we are to check out....a $61 charge to seabreeze buffet was included, not sure how since we are all inclusive, but mistakes happen right? I go down to the front desk at 9pm to resolve and the attendant prints another invoice that has another $60 charge to Windows on a nite we dined at Pure Lime, he quickly resolved both. Upon check out, the $60 charge to Windows is there again. I ask the employee how it was there again and handed her my print out from the nite before, she replied "there was no reason why it was removed so I put it back!" Sorry for the long read, my family and I have been to numerous All Inclusives all over the Caribbean and just could not believe the experience here at Divi Golf. While they have a great property and some of the best amenities Aruba has to offer, they missed the mark on too many of the little things that will prevent us from returning. Be aware locals do use the beach between properties, and after dark there was an individual trying to sell drugs on the beach side between the 2 properties. If management does read this, the 2 women making breakfast along with Jorge at seabreeze, and Edwin at Tamarjin pool bar, were the bright spots of your staff. Please recognize them all.

HORRIBLE

Very understaffed. Takes about 20 minutes to get a drink, run out of towels for the beach ,then your out of luck with your towels, my daughter had a toilet that didn't flush ( had 3 kids with her) they never came to the room to fix it had to come to our condo. They overcharged me 575 dollars for one day of all inclusive food that we didn't even have. ( Of course I'm fighting that with American Express) Can't get reservations to the restaurants . Out of 8 days we were there we got one reservation. At that dinner they were so understaffed that we didn't get coffee or dessert. Waiting 45 minutes but they never came back for our order.When they see your all inclusive bracelet(which was $135 a day)they take their sweet time because they know your not paying with cash!

Second visit

Our second timeshare exchange visit (July 15 – 22) to The Divi Village Golf & Beach Resort was very similar to our first stay in 2013. We were assigned rooms 2149, 2150 and 2151 which were kept very clean by the housekeeping staff, many thanks! Some of the furniture needs to be repaired or replaced as it really makes the units look old or very outdated. One of the unit’s air conditioning stopped working during the night and a fire alarm going off at 6:30 a.m. were the only minor inconveniences we encountered. The resort’s staff was pleasant and the food was good throughout the resort.

Needs better Security

Just arrived back home from our stay at the Divi Village. It has been our 7th trip there and wondering if we should go back again. On our first night. We went to the Alhambra, the decided to not take the shuttle but to walk back to our studio apt. When we hit the big Divi Golf sign a man was standing there and he shouted across the street if we wanted any weed. Of ofcourse we said no and walked a little faster. A week later on a Friday night we walked back to the unit again. And found the security guy sleeping sitting up on a lounge chair. I said in a loud voice. Good evening and woke him up. We proceeded to go to our unit on the ground floor and we were sitting there having a couple of drinks when the guy from the week before approached our patio. He asked us if we wanted weed again and again I said no. He then asked us if he could have one of our beers and again I said no and he left. Although no harm was done (thank god). He made us feel very uncomfortable. This was the 1st real problem we ever had in 7 yrs. I think the management should step up security. Especially late on weekend evenings and you should definitely watch the ground floor units a lot better. So very disappointed with the security there. Did not feel safe at all

Horrible experience.

This place has so many issues. -Housekeeping is terrible. They didn't give any face towels one day, next day only the big dry towels. I call concierge for more towels. They say ok, but never show up. We were given shampoo and conditioner the 1st day, never refilled. The soap was replaced so far 2 out of the 5 days we have been here. Again, call concierge and operater to ask for more. Am told ok, however it never comes. There are ants every where. Dirty dishes were in the cabinets. They only change the sheets on Sundays and Thursdays. So if you are here for 14 days only 4 of those days your sheets will be changed. However in our room the comforter was never changed, even after calling and telling them my infant child urinated on it. Also requested sheet change for the pull out bed on a Tuesday after a spill, and it was off course not done, but we were told it would be when we called. - WORST SHUTTLE SERVICE ever. Most of the shuttle drivers we have had have been pleasant, however..when you call the concierge/operater to have a shuttle come, they say ok, but very often the shuttle either doesn't show up or they come 40+ minutes later. We have a large party. We had a 1yr old, 5yrs old and 3 more under 11. We have frequently had to walked the 15-20 minutes to the other property after waiting 40+ minutes and calling several times for a shuttle. Its alot totting kids, bags, towels across the resort multiple times a days. Its ridiculous, annoying and very difficult. We watch shuttles pass buy us, sometimes stopping, sometimes not.-Concierge/ operater: These are titles to make us think they are there to help. You call and call, sometimes with either a busy signal or no answer for 30+ minutes. I walk up front, the ladies are nice. However, so many mistakes are made. So you become frustrated again. There is a $10 fee per day for a crib. I had no idea of that untill day 1 when I read it in the book. I called to have them pick it up. They said ok, never came. Day 2 and 3 I call to have it picked up, no one comes. I go to the concierge in lobby. She says..oh Yes, I recall you calling every day, no one has come? I say no. She assured me It would get picked up and I wouldn't be charged. Needless to say it's day 5 and the crib is still here...I better not be charged!-Towel Hut. Why would we expect the towel hit to have towels? So many times they were out. Or we would like to exchange a wet towel for a dry one and are towel no, there are no more. Which is odd. I was also given the choice to walk 10 minutes to the next towel hut, with baby and kids.-Bar: It was a hit and miss with them wanting to "serve" you and with a smile, but mainly misses. Why work at a resort...and not have a demeanor of happiness to please others? - The room: we had the one bedroom. We came with family. My sister's room had only one working bathroom, the one bathroom that worked had COLD water only, stopped up sink, clogged toilets. So had to use our room and showers alot of the trip. Her experience was worst then mine.Over a I would not recommend this resort at all. I wanted a vacation, but that's not what I got. I wanted to go home way before our stay was supposed to end. There are sooooooo many other things to say but this review is so long already. It just sucked. It's sad. We were so looking forward to coming to Aruba, but will never be returning. One good thing was the UTV and jet skiing, but those were off the resort. Aruba is VERY beautiful! The beaches are a pretty blue, amazing views! A lot of this was over shadowed buy such a bad experience at the Divi Golf.

Golf Villas at Divi Village also available. These deluxe accommodations are tucked behind the Divi Village and surrounded by a tropically landscaped 9 hole golf course. Studio and one bedroom suites are found either in a small, intimate hotel setting, or in freestanding villas each housing four suites. Many of the villas feature romantic winding staircases and rooftop whirlpool tubs.
