This is our first time visiting Aruba. We are members of Interval International and used our time share for this vacation. We also traveled with another couple who stayed at the Divi Dutch, with my time share as well. Let me start by saying make sure you do you research!!! There are several Divi resorts: Divi All Inclusive, Divi Dutch, Divi Village Golf and Beach, Divi Phoenix and their sister resort the Tamarin. The Divi Phoenix is down the street form the rest of the resorts. The Divi Village Golf (not on the beach side)is across the street from Divi All Inclusive, Divi Dutch and Tamarin (which are all beach front properties) When we booked our rooms we chose the all inclusive packages for both rooms. I though I booked both rooms at the Divi Dutch however upon arrival we realized that I actually booked one room at the Divi Dutch and one across the street at Divi Village Gold and Beach. I take full responsibility for this mistake however, two weeks prior to arriving I called and requested the two rooms to be next to each other. The women on the phone took our confirmation numbers and told me that she can't guarantee anything but would make a note. If in fact she did actually take the time to link our reservations she would have realized that they were for two different properties. The gentleman that checked us in was very helpful and tried to do as much as possible to rectify the mix up. After speaking to a manager (two of them) they said that for an additional 800 our friends could move to our resort. At this point it wasn't in their budget to do so. Since there was nothing that could be done we just decided to put it past us and enjoy our vacation. The couple we were with and my husband and I were all given bracelets for are all inclusive packages. On the second day my friends that were staying at the Divi Dutch had a message from the front desk saying that they were given the wrong bracelets and that they would be coming to cut them off and given the correct ones!!! Apparently if you are staying at the Divi Dutch, Divi All Inclusive or Tamarin you can not eat or drink at the Divi Village without it costing money!! I was appalled that after two days they came to my friends room and cut their bracelets off. We travel often and sadly I have to say we experienced the worst customer service during this vacation. They did say that our friends could pack up their belongings and move to our resort and pay an additional 250.00. Which in my opinion doesn't seem like a solution to a mistake that the resort made. We also found the staff to be extremely rude especially the staff working at the bars and concierge. I will say that the waiter/waitresses were all VERY pleasant. The accommodations are amazing...infinity pool is AWESOME. The resort as a whole was very clean and the pools and beaches were always well kept. There was always chairs both at the pool and on the beaches. All in all we enjoyed our stay I was just very disappointed in the lack of customer service that this resort provided.
First time in Aruba in October; usually go in February-March. HOT and HUMID. Room nice; A.C. kept things comfortable. Nice ocean view. As usual pool is poorly managed. Pool chairs saved (and empty for hours) despite pool rule stating saving not allowed. Couldn't find a pool boy to get chairs. Asked pool bartender for help; he didn't have a clue. Tried to call front desk. Phone rang 10-12 times with no answer. Service sucked for most part. Windows on Aruba restaurant was disappointing.
we stayed for a week and for sure we are not coming back, the bellman are rude don't care anything the same with the people from front desk the big guy who checked us was very rude he didn't explain nothing about the location or what restaurants are in all inclusive nothing, one day I called to the operator to said please we dont wanted hskp service we got back from breakfast the maid was in our room, our last day we waited outside of our room for 20 minutes for the bellman to help us with our luggage( the guy who make noises as a bird one time is fine but everyday second is very annoyed) the pool was close for 3 days of our stay I think the management of this property needs to help the team and make them happy because you can see in the service and their faces that they aren't happy.
I stayed at the hotel Oct 6 - Oct 10th, one week after Hurricane Matthew passed nearby. My vacation was originally planned for the week before but the flight was cancelled due to Matthew and the hotel shifted our accommodations, which was great. The the room had all the amenities I was looking for...kitchenette, washer, dryer, pull out couch, safe and patio area. The room was kept clean however I did find a broken glass below my bed, that was there from a previous stay. The hotel has 3 pools, but the largest pool was closed for maintenance. The other two pools were usually full. Guests in the pool closest to my room were pretty noisy at times.Biggest downside is the lack of wifi in the rooms. I was only able to get wifi in the patio area or at some points around the groundsOverall it was a pleasant stay, staff were attentive and the hotel was conveniently located for accessing public transportation. The beach opposite isn't the best beach on the island but still a great beach to relax at.I will stay at Divi Aruba again.
We just came home from a two week stay at the Divi Village (Room 7101) and it was a wonderful vacation. The oceanfront studio on the first floor was roomy and spacious and we had a great view of the beach. The beach across the street was fabulous. The ocean was clear for the most part and the sand was beautiful. Due to the renovation of the infinity pool, the other pool was quite crowded but it was still great. Mulligan's Restaurant overlooking the golf course had a wonderful atmosphere and the food was good and reasonably priced. The only complaint that I have was that the wifi was poor in the rooms. I could not get wifi on my laptop and the wifi I had on my cell phone was weak and often cut out. Overall a great experience and would definitely recommend.
