Divi Village Golf & Beach Resort

The entire resort was lush and green, teeming with iguanas and exotic birds. Great size rooms, with a quite location. Amazing pools and access to the beach is only a 5-minute walk across the street. Great food on site, but the real cuisine to try is in the downtown area. The staff was happy to call us a cab, which came quickly! We recommend this spot for a great time with a group looking to escape the cold!
We got such a great deal on this vacation that I was a little worried what the resort would be like -- but it was absolutely lovely! The staff was lovely -- especially the waiters and waitresses at the different restaurants. I think that the hotel should advertise that THERE ARE WASHERS AND DRYERS IN EVERY ROOM! -- because that is a huge selling point and I had no idea in advance -- I would have packed a tiny fraction of the clothing I brought. The room was really nice -- recently remodeled -- has a nice little kitchen with stainless appliances, granite counters and nice cabinets. All very clean and new. The bathroom was also perfectly nice and clean -- loved the rain shower. Parents should know that in the couple of rooms we saw -- THERE WAS NO BATHTUB -- my little guy adapted to showers, but for a younger kid, that could be an issue. The food was good and reasonably priced. The beach is right across the street -- very convenient. We have only minor complaints -- the resort is oddly stingy about towels -- you get one beach towel person -- never two (first world problem, I know). Also housekeeping typically gave us exactly one bath towel per person -- personally, I like two (another first world problem -- but an extra bath towel won't break the bank). One day housekeeping left us no towels and shampoo at all and we had to call the front desk. They were also oddly stingy about shampoo and soap. I need shampoo and soap -- that's just not negotiable! The staff at the front desk are sweethearts -- but on several occasions we tried to call the front desk and got no answer. When you check in the hotel gives you a card for a free complimentary rum punch -- but you can't substitute it for a glass of wine or a beer -- if you want to treat guests to a drink -- let the guests choose what they'd like. We loved the pools -- they are amazing -- my son could not get enough of the water slide. We had a pool near our room that was only 1-3 feet deep -- great for little kids. My son got a kick out of the iguanas near the infinity pool. There are several pools and hot tubs every where on the property. I actually would have liked a map and maybe a little more information on what the property has to offer when I checked in. I heard that there are hot tubs on the third floors of some of the buildings. The beach was absolutely lovely. There are limited palapas (like everywhere else) but if you got to the beach by 10 AM you could get one easily -- nice not to have to get to the beach at the crack of dawn for a palapa. We loved the Seabreeze -- breakfast buffet 17 bucks for adults and 9 for children -- it was absolutely lovely with a great selection of fresh food -- lovely fruit and an ace omelette chef. We ate at Mulligan's once -- so pretty and nice food. We were grateful for the hospitality suite so that we could shower before heading to the airport, as the hotel couldn't give us a late checkout. I recommend this resort without hesitation. Thanks for a lovely vacation! We hope to return soon! Mashi Danki!
We arrived and the Divi Villiage check in was average. The first night we were only given a regular hotel room at the All-inclusive area until our studio and adjoining studio was read at the Divi Golf and Beach resort (just a short walk away). Not impressed with hotel room, but the Studio 1 bedroom and the Studio was just great! Loved the outdoor grill and pool with slide at our complex. Loved the private balcony. We overlooked golf course and lake, but short walk to Beach. I will say the carts are just a sometime thing. I would want to let everyone know that we did not do the all-inclusive option. We went to the IGA which is about a mile or less. It is nice. Everything is about 4 times higher though than in the States.
Arrived checkin was great. Room looked well lived in. Floor wet with dirty towel on floor used as mat. Bed looked slept in broken , mold on wood. Jacuzzi was full of garbage as you can see. Requested movement to another room said they were full. After complaining we were moved to another room. It was like night and day. Only complaint was mosquitoes in room and bed was not comfortable. Room service I don't think exisited. Not what I expected we spent most of our time at the pool and beach. Beach was gorgeous across the busy street. I expected more... I have been to Aruba many times and this has been the worst experience.Although we were moved to another room I just don't think when you are on vacation you should have to experience this.
We are both senior citizens & we found the entire staff were very helpful with our special needs. We did not have a car & when we would call transportation they came within 5 minutes .We stayed at the Golf & Beach Resort. We can't wait to return .The only negative is they are 3 story buildings & do not have an elevator so if you have a physical problem with walking ask for a first floor room.
