Divi Village Golf & Beach Resort
- What's Included
- All Inclusive Features
We recently returned from the Divi golf and Beach resort. It was fabulous. The staff, facilities as well as the LOCATION were excellent. Pool areas were well maintained and the walk to the beach was short and perfect. Rooms are clean and spacious! There were plenty of activities to participate in. The Sea Breeze Terrace served a good breakfast every morning and a quick lunch if desired. We did not do the all inclusive plan, and there were always cabs available to bring us to our destination. Perfect for families! Perfect for Relaxation! Perfect Vacation! We will return!
Played there in a Friday scramble ,the pro shop were very helpful, carts ,clubs, shoes all included. Its a challenging course in the constant high winds. The course is in good condition with the greens being excellent. The warm up talk from the resident golf pro was very entertaining.
We stayed as guests of friends who owned a time share week and we had a beautiful unit on the third floor overlooking the pool (infinity pool). The room was immaculate and gorgeous. The staff we encountered while visiting both pool areas were all extremely nice. I will say that our friends stayed on the other side of the resort in the smaller units and requested a change as they were overlooking some construction over on their side. They did get to move and were happy with their alternate room. Personally, I loved being away from the hustle of the high rise area and downtown Oranjestad. The beach was quiet and well maintained. We were able to easily walk to beach front eateries and the casino from the Divi Golf as well.
On March 11, 2017, my sister checked in to the Divi Village Links, Aruba Beach Resort. My husband and I were her guests. When we arrived to our room, we went to place our passports and valuables in the safe. The safe was already locked. My sister called maintenance to have them unlock it. They did come promptly but were unable to open it. They had to come the next morning. After unpacking, grocery shopping for the week, and returning from dinner that evening, my sister realized we had no hot water. She contacted the desk the next morning and was advised that they were aware of the hot water issue and they were awaiting a part for the water heater. She asked that we be moved to another room and was advised they were fully booked. She then decided to call back the office again and informed the front desk that her guests, me and my husband (who has a compromised immune system) needed hot water for health reasons and regardless, we all did. Finally we were moved to another studio located with hot water, which was located in the same building. My sister and I brought some of our belongings to the new room. My husband has a disability and was unable to assist us. However, when the bell man opened the door, there was water on the floor from a leak from the washer. (Dry Vacs were brought in to clean up the mess). Therefore, we moved to a third room. All this occurring in less than 24 hours. The new third room was a 1 bedroom, but was still not as nice as my sisters. The new room was obviously a smoking room and very noisy AC system, needless to say, not very pleasant. By having to move to another room, she lost her third floor roof top privileges for the week. These are just a few of the problems with this room and ordeal. All of this could have been avoided and some things overlooked if they just put us in a room with hot water when they were fully aware that her studio did not have hot water. We should have initially been informed at check-in that the room did not have hot water as this is a health hazard. From what we learned, the water problem was not going to be fixed by the end of our stay. How can you put people in a room that you know has problems/issues. This is unacceptable. On Saturday, 3/18/17, we checked out of our room and into another room for an extended stay for two more nights. We were assigned room 4129 at Eagle 15, which was very warm in temperature and had a foul odor. As we unpacked, we noticed the room not getting cooler so we called maintenance for the AC and housekeeping for something to deodorize the room. Someone came to look at the air conditioning system twice. Upon the second visit, they realized the AC needed Freon. The odor didn’t dissipate until the morning we checked out. Some of the additional defects in this room were: the light fixture in the dining room was hanging out of the ceiling with the wires exposed, partial lights were out in the bathroom, the sleeper sofa was like sleeping on a wire frame, and the clothes drier took about three hours to dry clothes. Since her husband passed away a few years ago, she bring various members of her family with her. This was our second trip with my sister. We love Aruba so much that we signed up for a tour with the Divi Village Sales Office at the time of check-in. After this ordeal, we cancelled our tour that was scheduled during our stay, as we did not like the service my sister received. She also didn’t get compensated for all the problems. In fact, it cost her more money. She had to pay extra taxes on the one bedroom the resort moved us to (did not request a one bedroom). Why would she have to pay more money when it was the resort that moved us to a one bedroom. She did not request it. The resort should have picked up the tab for the taxes. She should also be compensated with free nights. We are very disappointed with how the Divi and Mr. Tie Boone-Luke,Owner & Guest Services Supervisor, handled the situation. Our stay was disappointing.
The Suite we stayed in exceeded our expectations. the resort staff was amazing and accommodating. If you are staying in Aruba do not go all inclusive as the island is super safe and there are so many restaurants and amazing spots to see. Rent a Jeep and go explore. Jays rental is just over $500 a week for a jeep. With our jeep and suite we felt like locals having access to the whole island.
