Comfort Suites Paradise Island
- What's Included
OverviewFor those in search of value and convenience, Comfort Suites Paradise Island can be a precious find. This hotel has nicely furnished suites that are well equipped with modern amenities. But the hotel's prime location is really its biggest selling point - guests are practically on the doorstep of the Atlantis resort and have full access to their fabulous facilities including their beach, pools, water slides, Lazy River Ride, health spa, tennis and Atlantis Kids Camp, and more.
Not sure how this place got a four star review. We went for a family vacation as it had full access to Atlantis. I didn't expect a Waldorf but based on the reviews I was highly disappointed. While the people seemed very friendly, the place was outdated and the rooms are way smaller than I expected. The pool only had two working lights. The bar outside had terrible service. There were very few patrons and it took literally 20 minutes to get some crazy expensive draft beer which I expected the price to be high but come on - 20 minutes?? The entire facility wreaks of sewage. Even outside. The rooms are very out of date. The pool is very worn, tiles falling off. Ugh. We tried to book a room at Atlantis but they were booked. I wanted out. Eck. Everything is just not what I expected.
The restaurant has to be one of the best on Paradise Island. The food and staff were just awesome. We celebrated a friend birthday a few weeks ago and i committed myself to write a review. The food was excellent, terriffic customer service and the waitress ensured we were well taken care off. Kudos to Ms. Theresa Smith, Ms. Fullford the hostest and that Chef and the manager by the name of Mr. Culmer. They made my night even special as a friend was running late and was told the kitchen was closed but Ms. Smith went above and beyond the call of duty to assist my friend with her order. (Job well done Chef) Of course they didnt run us but ensured everyting was in order and made us feel extra special and welcomed. I'd recommend this restaurant to a few more friends and you are sure to get my continued business. Again Kudos to Ms. Theresa Smith for the wonderful job she did that night and should be greatly rewarded.
This hotel helped make a great vacation even better. Reasonably priced, very clean, tremendously helpful and pleasant staff. Plus it is peaceful and relaxing... a great place to relax after the chaos and excitement of Atlantis. The pool is great. Very short walk to Atlantis. Crusoes' Restaurant is one of the best restaurants in town. The chef is great, food is delicious and better priced than Atlantis. Plus happy hour every day once the Atlantis water slides close. When we head back to Atlantis sometime again, we will certainly stay at the Comfort Suites.
We had missed our flight the night before and called to advise them that we would arrive early the next morning and readily accommodated us when we arrived. The check in process was fast and efficient but lacked the warmth you would expect from an island. The rooms are what you expect for a three star hotel and would've been sufficient if my housekeeper was attentive. She missed too many things - the dirt at the base of the sliding windows, the dust on the creases on the door, the replenishment of amenities, etc. I doubt the room was ever properly outfitted. Towels were on the yellow side and there was an unpleasant "damp" odor on the corridors and in the room. While I understood the importance of mosquito fogging, it was most disturbing to be awakened by the noise from the machine and I was on the 3rd floor. Another issue was the intermittent smell of sewage that occurred several times in my 4-day stay. Breakfast was the standard continental. We ate at Anthony's (literally a minute away) after the first morning. Given that our meetings were at The Atlantis, this worked for us.
Hotel was good, literally across the street from Atlantis. Unless you have a view room at Atlantis, don't spend the extra money to stay on resort property. Very nice full breakfast by the pool. Only downside to the trip is that good food was very expensive at Atlantis. Ended up eating more burgers than I would have liked, but didn't want to spend $50 per person for dinner.
