Comfort Suites Paradise Island
- What's Included
OverviewFor those in search of value and convenience, Comfort Suites Paradise Island can be a precious find. This hotel has nicely furnished suites that are well equipped with modern amenities. But the hotel's prime location is really its biggest selling point - guests are practically on the doorstep of the Atlantis resort and have full access to their fabulous facilities including their beach, pools, water slides, Lazy River Ride, health spa, tennis and Atlantis Kids Camp, and more.
Comfort Suites is a wonderful hotel full of friendly staff, great food, and clean rooms. We took our 2 teenage girls there for vacation. The hotel is directly across the street from Atlantis, and you have access to all that Atlantis offers by staying at this hotel - which was our biggest selling point. The hotel includes free breakfast, and each room comes with a small refrigerator. There is also a microwave in the breakfast area that we used as well. The staff - from the front desk, bartenders (Jamal is great), waitstaff, and housekeeping staff were always so friendly and helpful, and we plan on going back to the Bahamas and staying here.Just know that everything is expensive in the Bahamas. 15% Gratuity and 7.5% tax are always figured in - from a drink at the bar to a dinner out. Bottled water and drinks can be purchased for $2 at the hotel; they are twice that price at Atlantis. However, breakfast is included daily - which included fresh fruit, eggs, sausage or bacon, breads, pastries, waffles, cereal, and yogurt. - This easily saves you quite a bit of money. One bit of advice would be to have your taxi driver stop at the local grocery store to purchase some basics before crossing the bridge over to Paradise Island. Once at the hotel, you can walk to the local shops and Atlantis. We enjoyed all the amenities of Atlantis, but it was nice to come back to the peace and quiet of our hotel each evening.
We booked three rooms directly on the Comfort Suites website. At the time of booking we had booked three King rooms. One of the rooms was priced at $330, the other two were $348 and $361 for the two nights. We inquired why the rooms were different prices and were told that the more expensive rooms were because they were bigger in size and there were no more King rooms available. Because our flight was cancelled we had to scramble to find hotels for our now new extended stay. We went ahead and booked the rooms for fear we would find nothing else. Then when we checked the website again and three King rooms popped up for $330 each. Because we were less than five days out we could not cancel our reservation. On top of that the website did not take that we had multiple people in our room. I called and spoke to someone at Comfort Suites customer services and they confirmed with the hotel directly that we would not be charged additional. When I asked why we were paying more for two of the rooms she didn't know but said when she spoke to Glenda at the hotel to take a screen shot of that information to her and they would make it right as ONLY the hotel could make these changes since it was less than 5 days and the reservation could not be altered or cancelled. I spent over five hours on the phone trying to get this straightened out and was assured everything would be fine once we got to the hotel. When we checked into the hotel we were told that not only would they not honor the $330 rate but we would be charged several hundred dollars more for having additional people in the room. We tried to explain the situation and NOBODY, not even the manager on duty would do ANYTHING for us. They all played the blame game and said they could not alter anything at the hotel and that the person I spoke to on the phone at corporate was the only one that could do that. We even had the print out showing the rooms adn number of people at the lower price and they wouldn't budge. The only thing they would do was offer a courtesy call to the 800 number. We did call and were told we would get a small credit but that never showed up on our bill. Also upon checkout I asked about the three king size rooms and was told they were all the same size. So the reasoning that two had cost more because they were bigger was NOT correct. I will be contacting the head manager as well as the head of customer service. Do NOT stay here - nobody cares!!!!!
Took my family here for spring break April 8-12th. We booked 2 room in advance and had no issues at check in. We were a party of 6 anyone over the age of 12 will pay adult price. The hotel was better than we expected. All the staff were very friendly. The Breakfast was OK great for the kids who don't eat that much anyway but good enough to get your day started. The room was good enough for us because we spent all of our time at the Atlantis which is included with you stay. You will get a band that you can keep on or get it replaced daily. Some people complain about every little detail this is not a 5 star hotel but is was clean and staff friendly. If you want 5 star stay at the Reef or Cove Tower at the Atlantis and pay that $5000 or more weekly price at spring break. We will be returning next year for spring break and I will be staying here at Comfort Suites the hotel was not the bad at all. One more note to add, the hotel was sold out and every time was call the front desk with any needs they delivered within 5 minutes.
We stayed four nights at the Comfort Suites with a paid reservation made through Hotels.com. There were no problems at check-in or at checkout and there were no additional charges of any kind. We had to wait several hours for a room but were able to check our bags and walk around without any problems. We had room 202 close to the back of the hotel, which was ideal for going over to Atlantis. The room was on the first floor if you entered at the front lobby but you had to go up one flight of stairs if you entered at the back door. The room had a king bed, couch, fridge, desk/chair, safe, coffee maker, flat screen TV and good lighting. Everything was clean and in good working order. The room was made up each day without any problems. There was free in-room Wi-Fi which worked very well. The staff was friendly but since we had no problems I can't comment on how they would react to complaints. This hotel has several advantages that make it a good choice for Paradise Island. It is very comfortable and up to US standards yet was 2/3 the price of a room at Atlantis. You get a card at check-in that gives you access to Atlantis and the waterpark. It was only a short walk over to the Atlantis Coral Tower from the back door of the Comfort Suites and would have been even shorter, but the normal path was closed due to construction work. I used the card several evenings to visit the aquarium and Atlantis lobby area. A shuttle is available at the Coral Tower if you don't want to walk to other locations on the property. Breakfast was included each day and was very adequate and again, comparable to what you expect in the US. There were two areas available for breakfast which reduced crowding quite a bit as everyone seems to eat at the same time. The pool area and the breakfast room were both available each day and had the same selections. There is a mall area across from the hotel that had a couple of restaurants and a store with prices cheaper than at Atlantis. The Marina Village was also across the street from the hotel with several less expensive restaurant and fast food choices. Finally, the hotel was within easy walking distance of the Ferry dock to go over to the Straw Market. It was also a short walk to the craft market area on the island but all the items there were similar to those in Nassau where the overall selection was better. I would definitely recommend the Comfort Suites especially for those wanting to hold down expenses as much as possible without compromising the quality of their vacation.
My husband and I went for our wedding anniversary. Opted to stay at comfort suites because of cost and still had full access to Atlantis not to mention complimentary breakfast. No complaints completely satisfied. Would 100% go again.
