Melia Nassau Beach Resort

What a wonderful place to vacation! The ocean views were breathtaking and the staff was absolutely amazing! Everyone was so courteous including the locals! Stephanie you are a gem and Miami thanks for being so kind to my cool 10 yr old! For being an all inclusive resort the food was alright, so if you leave hungry it's your own fault! I would suggest booking your restaurants early as they have a tendency to fill up FAST! We were fortunate enough to eat dinner at the 6 restaurants during our stay, each being kid friendly! Aqua was defiantly our fav! Special thanks to the man Calan who took care of my adult beverages through my entire stay! Keep in mind everyone tips are not required but greatly appreciated! For the room I wish I would have upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite but hey who spends a week in the Bahamas in their room! Overall this place superseded our expectations and we will defiantly be going back soon! Thank you Melia for such a great vacation!
I thoroughly enjoyed the visit to Melia. My family including two kids did as well. The rooms were clean, the food was better than expected. May not be the best food you've ever had but it satisfies for an all-inclusive. The staff was always pleasant and focused on making sure you were relaxed and happy. However the only complaint i have is waiting two days for 4 towels and washcloths. Also it takes a while to get served at the restaurants. otherwise it was a great experience in a great location.
I was really not going to write a review on this hotel because my experience was not the best in the world and decided I would just not go back and stay here again. From check-in the process took way to long and there was a long line with front desk staff standing behind the counter not helping customers. The lobby is beautiful and the beach access is nice I will give that to the Melia. I stayed in this hotel many times before when it was the Sheraton and the rooms are still the same it needs to be updated. My biggest complaint was the food everything was bland and taste the same from breakfast to dinner. If I am paying for All-Inclusive I want to get my moneys worth and eat good food. Also the all-inclusive does not include premium liquor at the bar so what is really the point? The BEST part of staying at the Melia is that you are right across from the DaqShack the best daiquiris on the island. You can easily get on the local bus and get to the Fish Fry and downtown for very cheap. If all you want is beach, sun and fun then go for it, but if you want really good service and experience then you might want to think twice.
We were a little worried after reading the reviews before we went and some of peoples problems did occur but we had a really lovely week. I would say definitely book the level as check in was quick and pleasant and the beach area was much nicer. Also i emailed a week before we arrived and booked all the restaurants so it was all very easy. The queues at the main reception some days for check in were awful and i wouldn't have fancied that after a long flight. We got given the furthest room from the lift which was fine as the view from the balcony was amazing (room 792) and there was a big balcony. We asked for a renovated room which it was so it was very nice. We did have a problem with towels where they kept only bringing 3 bath towels for four of us or no hand towels on other days. But the service we got in all the restaurants was good. The quality of the food was also good, Nikkei and Cilantro were our favourites especially the Teppanyaki at Nikkei if you can get in. The buffet restaurant is a bit miserable but the food tasted good. Also being in The Level you can have breakfast on the beach the O Grille which was lovely and Bendji looked after us very well every day. There was still a problem with not enough sunbeds in the shade - if you didn't get down before 8am then it was unlikely you would get a bed in the shade. Setting/beach is amazing clear blue sea gorgeous sand and amazing snorkelling/free non motorised water sports. Snorkelling by the rocks which we could walk out to at low tide even our 9yr old could stand was amazing never seen so many fish. Lots of vendors on the beach but they're all really nice We also visited Arawak Cay for fresh fish one lunchtime and this was a nice experience. And we hired an open sided jeep from Bowcars which was fun for a few hours and we got to see around the island. There was a kids club but they were a bit strict about the kids having to stay for a full pm or am so my daughter wasn't keen. But the afternoon activities for all guests were good like tie dye but make sure you have a white top you can use and all different bahamian craft activities all free but you do have to book in.
Melia was great. Tons of different restaurants to choose from. Only one bad experience at the Tapas restaurant where we were ignored, and eventually got up and left. Make sure you book your choice in the morning, because the restaurants fully book very quickly. Even when that happens the Market Place buffet always had great food choices. The bartenders were great. The rooms were nice and WiFi was very good. We will come back.
