Melia Nassau Beach Resort

Staff was always very polite and helpful. The grounds are well kept and very beautiful. Very minor concern was the main marketplace restaurant was understaffed for the amount of breakfast goers in the morning. The food quality was great for a all inclusive, make your reservations early! Drinks were made great and flowed freely. The tapas lounge in the main lobby was our hangout, Jody the lead bartender was exceptional to us. The area around the resort is safe and still being developed with the soon to open casino. If you go downtown the place is abandoned after the cruise ships leave and everything is closed so go early if you go. Like all tourist places watch you prices outside the resort, the "fish fry" is a tourist trap, far from local and high prices. We would def return to the Melia for a relaxing vacation. Excursions can all be booked much cheaper with the vendors or hotels when there, don't do it ahead of time online it's a waste of money. The beach and pool area is great and easily accessible from the rooms.
This is a hotel to stay at! Good food and plenty of restaurants. Good drinks and friendly people that works here:)There is plenty of space to get a good suntan, the only thing bad about this is all the loud Americans and that have no respect for other guests. And I can say that if u get here, make sure u upgrade to level! There is a specific space on the beach that only level guests are able to stay at:)
There were many excellent service workers at the resort but Dicienzo at the Sapphire Bar was the best by far! I can honestly say that he may have been my favorite part of the trip. My wife and made sure that we went back there every night because he was so unbelievably entertaining! He also worked very hard and I never saw anyone have to wait for drinks. I loved how he engaged the entire bar and made sure everyone was having a good time.
Our recent stay at the Melia Resort was very enjoyable and relaxing. We did upgrade to the Level status and so thankful we did. - Beachside breakfast each morning at O'Grille was great! Bendji AKA "Godfather of Breakfast" greeted us with an awesome smile and great service each morning...although we did miss him while he was on days off!- Private beach area with the beach bed was very comfy, relaxing and a lot less congested than the main beach area. Rhinnon was superior...his attentiveness, smile and personality was a real bonus!!!!! Cedric was awesome and attentive with his kind manner. A major disappointment with this beach area was a couple with no wrist band identification were very comfy on 2 of the lounges utilizing Melia towels, as well as other non level guests making themselves comfy. Not fair to guests who have paid for the upgrade. Maybe an increase in dedicated supervision would help! - We did eat at the Steakhouse...food was great but very expensive$$$$$ Perhaps a surcharge to eat at this restaurant would be more beneficial to guests instead of the high prices!- We did not realize that turndown service had to be scheduled...we assumed with the Level this service would just happenDuring our entire stay the staff were friendly, courteous and extremely helpful. There was just one individual who cleaned our room for the first 8 days out of our 10 day stay. On our departure day this individual approached us in the hallway stating that a tip if left in the room on our departure would not be shared/given to her. She then later knocked on our door stating the same thing and asked for a tip...kinda awkward I must sayOn closing, I would recommend and return to the Melia Resort
Not an awful lot to recommend this place. A huge hotel - resembling the 1970's Spain type of concrete jungle.Restaurants serving trough food for the most part , hordes of people, understaffed. It's good for Spring Break and that's about it.Rooms are clean, air con is great, housekeepers don't understand the concept of a do not disturb sign.Reception is friendly and efficient.
