Melia Nassau Beach Resort

We stayed at Melia for our February break! At first we were panicked because our room wasn't ready but, it all worked out great. They took care of everything. We thought the property was clean, well cared for. The workers were super nice! We had the all inclusive and leveled up. I recommend it. We could use the level lounge, beach area and breakfast everyday. It was great!
I want to start out by saying this resort is worth every penny. The outside areas are beautiful, but still work in progress. the rooms and restaurants etc are nice. The hallways etc are also a work in progress. This is our 5th all inclusive, the other 4 either Sandals or the like in Jamaica, and the food at Melia was much better. We had read so many negative reviews and I really don't get why. I tried hard to come up with something to complain about and the only thing I came up with was the pool bar. It takes way to long at times to get a drink and most (not all) bartenders don't seem happy.
Got here 3/25. Hotel is ok but all inclusive is a major disappointment. Most such programs have higher end meal options available for an extra charge reasonably representative of the difference in the two options. Not here; they charge the full menu price for the add on. Coupled with the fact that the cooking is generally weak makes the experience unsatisfactory. Last night's meal at the Aqua restaurant was by far the worst Italian food I've ever had and the service was nearly its equal. Our arrival night was almost as bad. Ordered rare flank steak with a chimichuri sauce. Instead of searing the meat off and the slicing it, they sliced it first and cooked the pieces, guaranteeing that it was both tough and overlooked. Breakfast buffet is pretty good.Stuck here another 4 days. Wish us luck
We spent 8 nights at Melia for our parents 50th Wedding Anniversary. The team went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The location was perfect for all range of ages in our group. We LOVED Nikkei for dinner! We had reservations every night at different restaurants. We had a great time all round.
My husband and I recently flew into the Bahamas from the US on Friday, March 23, 2017. We had booked a premier ocean view room online directly with Melia and when we got to the hotel to check in the receptionist, Cindy, told us that due to water main problems they were going to be shipping us to another hotel and that we could not check in. When we asked her how long the hotel had these water main issues she told us they knew at least 48 hours in advance! We did not get emailed or phoned that there were issues AT ALL by the MELIA staff and when we arrived their only option was to ship us off to Warwick Hotel. Staff put us in a taxi and sent us to the Warwick where they put us in a room overlooking a construction site. Warwick is much smaller boutique hotel with no beach or large pool. This was NOT a premier ocean view room, it was a room on fifth floor overlooking the construction site by the harbor. We cancelled our rooms immediately and booked directly with the Atlantis Cove instead. DO NOT BOOK WITH MELIA! THEY ARE NOT TRUSTWORTHY and DO NOT CONTACT YOU AHEAD OF TIME! Book at the Atlantis - much better customer service and the Atlantis even upgraded us to a suite free of charge due to the all problems we experienced with the Melia and Warwick.
