November stay Melia

The hotel is setup nicely. Improvements are definitely being made. The lobby is very nice atmosphere at night. The family pool has zero entry which is nice for little ones, and the adult pool and family pool are separated. All rooms have a balcony, many with a good view. The beach area is clean, good chairs and umbrellas, floats in the water, some water sports to use, and limited begging. The ocean at this resort was beautiful! Not too rough, not too cold. It is a great spot. If the resort could improve on the food, and some of the service, this would be a GREAT place.

Melia Level -October 2017

We stayed at the Melia OCT 17-25 2017 as a couple. We purchased the Level with our package. Upon arrival we we shown to the Level Lounge where there was an associate waiting for us who was extremely helpful and kind. She made us feel very welcome and checked us in quickly. She even took the time to show us two different rooms available to us. We were on the 8th floor. After we choose our room and finished check in she allowed us to choose reservations for dinner for our entire stay. In the level lounge there were snacks and alcohol, soda and juices to make your own drinks! That was a great part about the level and you can go in there anytime before 9pm. When we arrived to our room everything was clean and nice, no complaints! Our view was amazing!! We immediately got into our suits and went to the Level Beach area. It was quiet clean and not crowded. The water was warm clear and beautiful. They also offer many water activities. The only thing that can be Improved for the Level Beach area is the service we had to go find someone to take our orders most of the time. One of the days they had a Level Cocktail party that was great! My favorite restaurant was the hibachi at Nikkei. Cilantro was good the guacamole is a must!!!! Estavida was decent they were out of dessert witch was very disappointing but the good thing there is you can pick up food until 3am. We had made reservations for Black Angus and to our shock we got all dressed up and went to the doors and they were CLOSED. I literally couldn't believe it it was a huge huge disappointment. They were nice about it and got us reservations next door at Baha Mar but it was just not the same and not what we wanted. It was our last night there so there was not a second chance to go. We went to the Bahaha Mar twice because it was the only way to get wifi. It was nice there and its a free shuttle. Bahimian night was fun and had great live entertainment. Every night except Sunday there was a DJ until about 1am. After about the 3rd night we were ready for something new. Overall it was a nice stay we just expected a little more for the LEVEL but are greatfull for what we had.

Stayed here for our honeymoon in a level Oceanview room. We had great service from staff and overall atmosphere at the resort was better than we expected. Some of the food was medioker but some was fantastic. Other than that was a great place to stay.

Wonderful location, beautiful property and a work in progress.

First, don't focus too much on the negative reviews on Trip Advisor. Everyone has a bad stay at some point. The resort isn't new and was not maintained well by the PREVIOUS company than owned it. But, Melia is doing repairs/upgrades. Yes, there are still cosmetic blemishes; water damage, pealing paint, mold, cracks... But, we've stayed at 5 star resorts that have those issues, too. Focus on the GORGEOUS property & beach, the safe environment, the friendliness of staff (and other guests), good dinners & nice drink selections. I've been to Mexico, DR, Puerto Rico and other tropical locations, but we haven't felt as safe and content as we did at Melia, Nassau. The staff is awesome - so friendly. Our room and bed were very comfortable. We asked for softer pillows and got them. The buffet is your basic "all inclusive buffet". Not awful and not extraordinary. The specialty restaurants were very good, the outdoor grille was fine for us "average" tourists. Of course there are things that could have been better, but they can be overlooked. We felt the Level upgrade was totally worth the extra money - can't say enough nice things about the Level package. Yes, we will and have recommended this resort to our friends.

Not good start

Checked in today. Mini bar was not stocked as stated. No hair dryer in room despite being quoted. Phone in room did not work so had to walk to reception twice asking for hair dryer. And still not received so now missed dinner reservation! Staff not friendly at all and not at all welcoming. Not a great start to our trip to the Bahamas.
