True Paradise

One and Only Ocean Club is a beautiful place. Service is world class and all of the Staff are very nice and accomodating for all of your needs! Prince Collie is as good as you could ask for all of Butler needs. Omar and the entire staff at the Beach will spoil you with their smiles and service.

Nearly perfect

My wife and I truly enjoyed our one week stay at the One and Only on Paradise Island. We would rank this property over any that we stayed at on Turks and Caicos (Grace Bay Club and Gansevoort) and was as good as the old Viceroy in Anguilla (although I hear not so great things about the hotel under the new management by the Four Season's). The most outstanding aspect is the property. The style is more classic and subdued and less glam than say the Viceroy. The rooms were beautiful and well appointed. The bathroom was huge and luxurious. The balconies were large with excellent furniture. It's worth getting the ocean view rooms (Hartford wing). I don't think it's worth the upgrade to stay in the "ocean front" properties (Crescent wing); it's not like they're right on the beach and in fact, they are further away from many facilities. The landscaping is just simply perfect. The area around the large adult pool is phenomenal. The beach is a bit more narrow than that in Turks and Caicos but is beautiful. The water is stunningly blue and green and the sand perfect. There is remarkably no debris that washes up on the beach. There is a great walk that we took every day along the beach (over 1 mile each way). The pool overlooking the beach is a perfect addition to the property and is gorgeous. The fitness center was very good and well equipped. There are many treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, cross fit equipment, weights, etc. The main reception area has a martini bar and is an excellent place to relax both day and night. The art work was wonderful. There is a wonderful kids pool near the tennis courts. Absolutely perfect for young kids. Remarkably, all pools and beaches are watched by lifeguards. We walked the golf course which was beautiful, but did not play. The food was very good. Dune and the Dune Bar are run by Jean-George Vongerichten and the quality of food was excellent. Lunches and dinners were superb. Breakfast was very good but more expensive than it needed to be. Most places reduce the price if you only have cold items from the buffet. The restaurant is an excellent location to watch the sunset. Service here was very good except for one day at breakfast. The pop up restaurant on the pool deck was outstanding for both lunch and dinner. The service here was outstanding. The food by the Versailles pool was also outstanding as was the service. The spa was ok. There was no central area for relaxation before or after massages. Most places have an area with steam rooms, sauna's, whirlpools, showers, etc. They use special cottages for the massages but if you get a 50 minute massage you have no time to access the shower in the cottage or relax there before the next person has to come in. This needs to be fixed; otherwise, drop the price of the massage. The massages were good however. If you stay here you have free access to Atlantis and its facilities. The hotel offers a free car service to shuttle you back and forth to Atlantis. We stayed at Atlantis many years ago when our kids were young and thought it was "Disney-esque" then. Now it is pure Las Vegas sleaze. We ate one night at Nobu and were pretty disappointed. The casino is smoke filled (no non-smoking area) but if you like to gamble, this is your only option. Overall a great week and we would definitely go back.

Exceptional in every way possible!

The One&Only Ocean Club is located on a beautiful beach with great views. There is nothing bad to say about this hotel I can say. As soon as I saw the property and was met by the staff upon my arrival I knew I had to come back! The only negative of this hotel, is that if you have kids... good luck getting a seat at the infinity pool. There are 25 to 30 chairs surrounding the pool not leaving much room for families. There are three pools on the property. One is an adult, one is a family pool, and the last is just a regular ocean front infinity pool. The family pool is not as nice and not as well serviced, but if you have kids this may be your only option. Other than that, the rooms were superb, service was amazing, location is great, and the food is awesome! If you're in the Bahamas and you want a hotel away from cruise goers stay at the One&Only.

We have been staying at the OC for 7 nights and had an oustandingly wonderful time. We had two rooms with garden views in the Hartford Wing. They were very modern, everything was in working order and the location was perfect for us. The two rooms shared an entrance that could be closed separately, which makes the two room connecting in a perfect way, giving each room privacy but still connecting. The facilities were very modern an up to date. The reception area has inviting board games for the family, the staff is very attentive. Our personal interactions with the staff have been flawless, much better than described in the more negative feedbacks. Our check-in was flawless. The concierge infrastructure works effective and offers lots of trips and excursions, reserves restaurants (recommendation: Graycliff) and arranges transportation. The beach and pools (family, infinity and an "adults only" pool) are in perfect order and highly enjoyable. Towel Services, F&B Service is everywhere. In addition, the tennis courts are very good and have provided our family with lots of exercise. Complementary Water, Balls and Towels are available. The only criticism I can agree on is the lack of diversity in the main restaurant Dune. But given the other options close by (there is a complentary shuttle to the Atlantis with ca. 20 options) in real life it has not been an issue with us.Upon departure we even got a late check out which es eased our travel plans considerably. In Summary: For those who are willing to (substantially) invest in a very exclusive resort, that is non crowded, truly secluded but still close to a lot of infrastructure this is the place to be. We will certainly come back.
