What a great location! This modern hotel is conveniently located on sandy, white Accra Beach within walking distance to shops and restaurants on the south coast. The action of St. Lawrence Gap is a short five-minute drive away. With its waterfall and poolside bar, Accra's clover-leaf-shaped pool is a fun gathering place during the day. In the evening, after a fine meal in Wytukai (pronounced Y2KAI) - the island's first Polynesian restaurant - dance under the stars on the open-air terrace.

Location: 20 minutes from Grantley Adams International Airport and 10 minutes to Bridgetown.

This hotel cheats there customers *MUST READ BEFORE YOU BOOK*

So me and my finance booked this hotel just to get away from the NYC weather. The customers service here sucks! Further they cheat their customers. When we first got here we waited 2 hours for our room with multiple people arguing and yelling at the people at the front desk, didnt know why, but I mind my business. Today we called front desk and asked them if there was a breakfast buffet, they said yes. We asked for the price of the buffet, response was $30 barbados dollars. After we had this terrible breakfast, they tried to charge us $120 barbados dollars, which is about $60 U.S. Dollars. When we confronted them about the price, they said the prices are in US DOLLARS. As I asked them to show me their many with US pricing, they refused to show it, none of their price lists are in US DOLLARS, all in barbados dollars, they quote us on us dollars cause we are from the u.s. So I asked the manager named Frank, so if I am from Great Britan your gonna charge us $30 pounds, he got angry stormed away and said my remarks are none sense. I still do not understand, it is like saying I live in the u.s.a. but I will charge you the same dollar amount in pounds regardless of the price adjustment ratio. Long story short, they try to milk their customers, they pretty much lie to your face and try to double charge you or even more and hoping you do not ask questions of the pricing, when you do, they state the pricing is from your home country $ and not in Barbados $. This place is awful with everything, aside from the dinner chef, she makes great food. Just letting you all know, they try to cheat everyone who comes in here. We contacted jetblue since we booked the hotel with them, As I am writing this jetblue is on the phone with them getting on the manager for misleading people like us who are staying here from Jetblue. Do your selves a favor, do not stay here. This hotel is not 4 stars regardless of what trip advisor says, I would give it 2.5 stars but after this experience, they should be a negative 5 star hotel. Do not book here, you will regret it I promise!

Accra Comprehensive review

I like long reviews so here is ours on Accra. We are a family of 4 with 2 teens for context. We also had my senior citizen parents with us in another room. As well, we are seasoned travelers of a dozen islands in the Caribbean either via direct stay, cruises, all inclusives, etc. Our main expectations are friendliness, cleanliness and comfort, fun and an atmosphere that we encourage us to return. In short, this place satisfied all of these.Slight CONS: a couple nights were noisy later around midnight but nothing we have not experienced elsewhere. We felt safe. This is more a people issue than the resort. The fella who tries to keep beach chairs/umbrellas organized (not Kemier) is one grumpy dude. We watched him tear a strip out of people daily for putting umbrellas down, or moving chairs out of a straight line, man is grumpy! Alas it became entertainment for us to see who his next victim would be. We were once ourselves :)Major PROS because they are from the people that deserve mentioning: Checking in: NICHOLAS. Breakfast at Coco Patch: MITCHELL. Bartenders: Keith and Julius. Beach umbrellas and chair setup: Kemier (sorry if we did not spell this correct). Checking out: Stefon. All of these people represent service with a smile and friendliness and fun PERFECTLY. They interacted with us, answered our questions, and had fun with us through great conversation.Upon checking in around 5:30pm we only waited 5 minutes until served by Nicholas. He set the positive tone immediately so friendly and apologetic our rooms were not ready yet and would be in 30 minutes. He invited us to sit and enjoy some drinks at the lobby bar (Sandbar). We sure did and took in the beauty of the lobby. Within 30 minutes rooms were ready. Very reasonable! Throughout the week Nicholas would find us and say hello ask how things were. Amazing gentleman! They do deal with a large amount of Cruise guests on Friday/Saturday so keep in mind they are quite busy at checkin/out those days.Our room was Floor #1 (Ground floor is Floor#0, no ground floor rooms). We faced the main road/island view which was our request and it was beautiful and spacious with a pull out sofa for one teen, a double bed for myself/spouse and another double for other teen. Still lots of space and a great balcony. We spent a lot of time enjoying coffee, Banks beer, rum and people/site watching. Great room! Clean, everything worked. As for comments regarding hot water, a couple days it would come and go but always around 5-6pm which is par for the course in many hotels/resorts around the world when the high demand is being drawn. We usually take showers around 4pm :) or 6pm and have no issue. My folks had a room in the newest wing on the west side which has sliding doors but no balcony. They requested a balcony room the next day and were gladly moved with a smile.What makes this place great for us, and what we look for other than what is stated above is a lush garden/tropical atmosphere and their courtyard/pool/waterfall sure does this. Beauty all around, big pool, direct beach access. Plenty of bars (3) and restaurants and service is friendly and fairly quick. We are on vacation and don't quibble about waiting longer than used to in the hustle/bustle world. Yes you generally will wait to be served, to get a drink/food. Caribbean time is something to enjoy! We have a saying if you want to eat by 1pm order at noon. If you want another rum/beer order when the one in hand is at half :) We ate breakfast and lunch at both the Coco Patch and Sunset Bar (Beach bar) TERRIFIC! Yes prices are higher than outside the report but a nice treat. Keith and Julius were the best, and served fast. Great conversations with both and smiles. Mitchell at Coco breakfast is so very nice, and funny!As for around the resort, across the street there is so much to eat/drink, buy groceries, coffee all of which we did. New York Pizza is great as is Ali Baba, Munchies is perfect breakfast sandwiches. Do not use the CIBM atm, it eats cards we heard and experienced that is does not always give correct cash amount. The Scotia just down the road works great as did the Scotia in Bridgetown. We walked endlessly in both directions many days and enjoyed a great cafe (Artsplash) and Bert's (and old family favourite) and the best was Tiki at the end of the beach. Go to Cheffettes, great fast food that is a local lovers!We spent half day walking Bridgetown, you must do this. A simple taxi is $2bbd pp. Amazing! We also spent half day hired a car/driver to drive us around island for 5 hours. We saw and experienced so much! We spent the Wed. night at resort for Karoake and that was so much fun. The host is terrific as was a nice local singer Erik we spoke with at length. So overall we love this place and yes would return. They could reduce the price of the dinners at night such as Curry&Kebab at $80 is pricey, as is the BBQ night. So we just went elsewhere. The many empty seats for these events indicate this could be the issue.Barbados south coast is suffering a gastro issue since December and both myself and my Father dealt with it for a day. Sad since so many visit this island because it is a non issue compared to other Carib islands, hopefully the govt fixes this soon. The beach is a highlight, it was a rougher than usual week for Accra but we had a blast. Clean sand and water no rocks. We did jet ski and had a turtle breach beside us as we sat there enjoying the water.Once again, I cannot say enough how friendly all the staff and people are. Everyone said hello/good morning/etc and many conversations were had. So many people we did not get their names so kudos to all at the resort! Stefon at check out was once again so very nice to us wanting to know did we enjoy our stay and why when we said yes.

Fantastic holiday

I booked this holiday and was slightly worried afterwards because of some of the reviews. However, it far surpassed my expectations and I was pleasantly surprised. It is a 4* hotel and this is what you get but I had no complaints and I think people's expectations are unrealistic sometimes. The location is excellent as you can get all around the island from the hotel on the buses which stop directly outside. Bridgetown is 10 minutes one way and St. Lawrence Gap is 5-10 minutes the other. Hole town and Speights town are also accessible but slightly longer travel around 30 to 40 minutes but the bus is only 2 dollars (approx. £1 per person).The food is good maybe more choice for dinner would be an improvement but breakfast and lunch are more than adequate.Room was cleaned daily. We had an ocean view room which was spacious with a large bathroom. There was no hot water on first day but this was quickly dealt with and no further issues for rest of the holiday. Only thing lacking was a toilet brush.Air conditioning worked well along with ceiling fan.I read a few people complaining about the staff but i have to say I found them all to be very happy and cheerful and most helpful when you requested anything, and our room was ready on arrival. I do find that Bajan people are reserved by nature and do not get involved in anything unless necessary which is not a bad thing and they made us feel very welcome at the hotel.The hotel itself is situated on Rockley beach which is one of the most beautiful beaches I have experienced. There is also a food court/shopping centre directly opposite hotel, with lots of other restaurants and bars situated close by.The only slight complaint I would have would be about 'sun lounger war fare' on the beach with some guests getting up at 6 am to make sure they secure a lounger for the day. One day after sitting down in front of someone's sun longer on a towel on the beach we were told we could not sit there as they needed to have additional space to move their lounger where they needed to too. Rockley beach is a public beach with space for everyone to sit down and it is not for people to be dictating where others can sit just because it does not suit them and they were up at 6am. I did notice a couple of days after this that management sent a letter out stating that guests should not leave a sun lounger for more than 45 minutes so I presume others had complained having similar experiences. Unfortunately not all of us want to be contestants on sun lounger 'chaser'.None the less this was not a major factor and did not spoil the holiday. We had a great time and I would definitely return with no hesitation.

A fun time with the family. The restaurant is overlooking the beach. Pool water very cold but the beach just right. The pool is about 5 feet deep there is a shallow spot for the kids. Place to unwind.

Friends wedding and holiday

We came here last December for my wife’s 40th with our friends and had an amazing holiday. Our friends loved it as much as we did and booked for this new year for their wedding. This year has been equally amazing but more special for our friends wedding. The hotel is 5 star with 5 star staff lead my amazing manager Suresh. We can’t wait to come back.
