All Seasons Resort, Barbados

This was our third visit to the island. We found the All Seasons Resort to be very basic and the furnishings were extremely tired. Having said that several guests return year after year. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the location is close to shops, restaurants and bus routes (approx 10 mins walk). However, on hindsight, we would have preferred to pay more to have a more modern apartment with dishwasher, washing machine and decent wifi. We were in a garden apartment and were aware before we left that wifi only worked in the public areas, however, even here it was difficult to use and very slow.

Another fantastic holiday

visited the All seasons and Barbados before another fantastic time, the staff are so friendly and helpful, always making improvements to the place. The indian restaurant is a must to try but next time will go for the mild not medium as a little hot. Excellent location on the west coast easy to walk to everything in Holetown and it beautiful beach. As they say we will be back thank you again for great time.

It's basic........ very basic

After several visits to this lovely island it is apparent that their accommodation rating system is a law unto itself; a so-called 4 star seems to range from pretty basic to what we would expect from a standard 3 star hotel or B&B, whilst the word 'luxury' is bandied about by travel agents and locals alike to mean anything from a standard 4 star to stupid opulence. That said, we wanted this visit to be an exploration of the island, and didn't want the restriction of staying in a hotel. Self catering in a collection of semi detached bungalows was the choice, and whilst the accommodation was quite poor and needed serious maintenance, by and large it suited us as we weren't in the place much.Positives: nice location within walking distance of Holetown and local beaches. Public areas and gardens were well kept and clean. Pool was lovely and not over used, so there was never an issue about creeping out at 5am to bag a lounger. We didn't use the restaurant so can't comment. Staff were nice and friendly, and the bar area was well tended and efficiently run. Really quiet area with each bungalow positioned so that you weren't overlooked at close quarters. Individual parking by each bungalow.Negatives: being charged a supplementary daily rate for air conditioning (installed in bedroom only), and for the use of the safe. Very poor fittings; light fittings in the bathroom were so rusted it was impossible to see the metal, and were full of dead insects. Be prepared for a lot of things not working. Lights, TV, and toaster in our case, and we got fed up with asking. Bed linen had seen much better days and could have done with a good iron. We lived in Africa in the 70's and it was very reminiscent of that. Very, very dated. However, all in all, we enjoyed our stay, but would not recommend it, because of the negatives listed above. We used it solely as a base to explore the island, and it served the purpose.

One week into a three week stay

Having a lovely time. As mentioned in other reviews the staff are great. They have all been very kind and very helpful. We enjoyed the cocktail party on Wednesday with complementary Rum Punch and nibbles. The hotel is so relaxed (and a number of people stay year on year) it seems to encourage people to chat and make friends. It is an expensive area so the opportunity to make some of our own meals is a bonus. We have eaten in the on site Indian restaurant - food was excellent and lovely service too.
