All Seasons Resort Europa
- What's Included
Travelled with BA as part of a two week package, arrived late afternoon due to go slow at the airport. Was not sure what I expected but the rooms are spacious with air conditioning in the large bedroom with its on-suite shower, toilet and w.c. Everything is spotlessly cleaned every days with a good pool and restaurant, don't know why it does not open on a Tuesday, (it's Indian cuisine) and a lively bar area. Kitchen has a cooker and fridge freezer and ample cutlery and dishes for self catering. Great verander for just relaxing and enjoying a rum or two. Look out for the monkeys and if you hire a car be sure not to park under the coconut trees. Rooms around the pool area can be a bit lively in the high season, we stayed a stroll away from the main hotel but still managed to get wifi reception although it was hit and miss depending upon the weather. It poured down all day on 29th Nov and caused minor flooding. All rooms have cable tv, I am writing this whilst I am stil on the Island and took the local bus to Bridgetown as Prince Harry was in town. Do not miss a bus trip, only 2 BB$ each for as long as you stay on the bus. Not first clas but excelent value for money.
This hotel is awful. I repeat awful. Do Not waste any time or money coming here. All apartments are so old in plumbing and decor. Staff very cold and unhelpful. Holiday companies using it as cheap for them.
Yes the accommodation is a little tired, however if you want 5 star luxury there are a couple of hotels that will meet your requirements just up the road, at triple the price if your wallet will allow. Yes there are extras, but we were fully informed of these prior to check in and booked aircon as part of our BA package. There is only one word to describe the very hard working staff at the hotel and that is superb, without exception they are freindly and will go out of their way to help you.As it was my birthday, returned to our accommodation to find a complimentary bottle of wine as a birthday present.Special mention to John (hope you are over your chest infection), Lydia and Aleise (hope I got the spelling right) arrived as customers but felt we left as friends. Others have said the reception staff were curt, but always found them extremely helpful. The location is a little off the beaten track, but Holetown is only a 10 minute walk away and bus stops to Bridgetown a 5 minute walk. If you want an experience take the yellow reggae bus, meet the locals at very (I mean very when the buses are full) close quarters, go at what seems like a hundred miles an hour, all for $2 per journey. Enjoyed our stay, to the owners would say you have fabulous staff, look after them.
Stayed here for a week as wanted to stay on west coast. Wasn't looking for 5 star luxury but basics like clean towels every day and a hob with enough rings working to boil a kettle would have been good. Yes no electric kettle a job and a whistling kettle. Says it all! This property isn't tired , it's exhausted and dying on its feet. The staff, without exception are truly lovely, but what can they do with something that needs demolishing and re-building? We were moved rooms, knocked $100 US off the bill and stayed a week. Look at the final bill!!! Air con and taxes $137.US and safe $17.50 US for a week. Plus they take $150 US on arrival as a deposit. Trust me there is nothing anyone would want to take from here. No where does it say what the AC charge is but I could have heated my entire house for a month on this one. Stay away- the hidden charges are ridiculous and it is not a pleasant place to stay. Hopefully John and Lydia can help- and they need to be listened to - without help the only thing this accommodation will see is the bulldozers!
All Seasons Resort Europa was the first of 4 hotels my girlfriend and I chose for our trip to Barbardos, partially due to the reviews on Trip Advisor, staying here from October 16 – 19.Check-in was smooth, albeit the front desk clerk was a bit curt when answering our questions in general. Most resorts do not allow smoking in the rooms and when we asked if we could on the veranda, she said there was a designated smoking area by the pool. We had no issues on the veranda and no complaints. The large self-contained villas were clean and functional with good air conditioning in the bedroom only. The small kitchen had all you needed including a full stove and fridge. We chose to do our breakfasts and pack lunches for our daily jaunts. Word of caution, do not leave your kitchen window open with food that is not stored as the birds know where to go! The beds were a little hard for my taste but were comfortable enough. The resort is small and we met many repeat guests from the UK who come just to unwind and relax by the pool which was very refreshing and clean.Massey store is around a 10 minute walk to get all your groceries and there are also local vendors along the way. We bought some fabulous local lettuce, avocados and tomatoes from a sweet little old lady. The public access at One Sandy Lane for Sandy Lane/Paynes Bay Beach is around a 20 minute walk. It was worth every sweaty step on uneven sidewalks and no sidewalks. We chose this area first as it is known for its snorkeling. It was fairly calm and was enjoyable seeing some interesting fish, urchins and sea snakes. The coral around the rocks is slowly coming back attracting many tropical fish.Just Grillin restaurant is around 15 minutes and is worth going to. The fresh catch of the day was excellent (mahi mahi) and the Banks beer cold, our waitress was fantastic and spent quite a bit of time chatting with us.Folkstone Marine Resort is about a 10 minute bus ride and unfortunately the day we went (the 18th) it was too choppy to snorkel. We followed the boardwalk past Elegant Resorts and found a great spot where we hung out on the beach all day.All Seasons Resort Europa has a restaurant which serves East Indian (Asian) food which is very good. The garlic naan is to die for!We read reviews about extra charges for the air conditioning so check with your booking agent or read the fine print when you use a booking site. Ours was included. They did charge a refundable deposit which I was surprised to see, but they did refund the money (less exchange of course which amounted to about $10 Canadian). All in all, this is a great little place to unwind and relax as it is very quiet. Highly recommend as it is relatively good value for the money.
