Barbados Beach Club

Second visit here, both to Barbados and this hotel, love it on both fronts. Staff are amazing, so friendly, so helpful. With this hotel you're just away from The Gap, so you get good peace and quiet, a nice beach is on site, as is a decent sized pool, and a nice bar area. Wifi is generally good in most places, it has moments when it drops, out, but it's bare able. We went all inclusive but noticed not everyone staying did, all inclusive is good here, there isn't much other food and bar choice directly around the hotel, although there is a great convenience store across the road from the front of the hotel, the food is tasty and plentiful with plenty of choice across all meals, and drinks readily available The hotel was undergoing a little bit of maintenance as its out of peak season, but nothing off putting We love it here, and would definitely use again.
The hotel was clean and most of the food was good. Some of the structure appear tacky but not extreme. I did not like any of the drinks they served. The plus is the price is very affordable. My friends and I were pleased to meet a popular Jamaican artist while staying staying there.
My family and I stayed here in December 2013. All three of us are vegetarians and we indicated this prior to our arrival. However, it was only after we spoke to the hotel staff on the second day of our stay that we were able to get meals that suited our vegetarian lifestyle. The chefs prepared special vegetarian dishes for us both at lunch and dinner time since we had enough variety at breakfast. We were also provided with vegetarian deserts. The hotel provided an afternoon tea between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm. I must admit that this was the best meal service that we ever experienced in all the years of our travels. The staff at the hotel were friendly and were always willing to meet the needs of guests. The swimming pool was cleaned daily and it was rarely used by guests when we stayed there but we liked it this way too because there was only one pool and it was not very large. The hotel was on the coastline but the beach that can be accessed from the hotel would only suit experienced swimmers or surfers since the waves were rough in this area. However, adjacent to the property there was an area that suited us with calm waters but the area tended to be lonely so we only used this area twice. The buildings that comprised the hotel are very old and the architecture also is from times that went by. We stayed on one of the higher floors but we could still hear the waves hitting the sea wall bordering the property. This sometimes posed a problem for us to sleep even though the windows and doors were closed. There weren't too many young people staying at the hotel when we were there so I guess the hotel may also be catering to older guests.I am taking this opportunity to advise guests that there are much better beach facilities closer to the capital, Bridgetown. One such place is Browns Bay. We enjoyed bathing there so much that we went to bathe there on multiple occasions daily for three of the five days we spent in Barbados.
Amazing everything couldn't moan about one thing and I am a moaner oh wait maybe the decor but pretty sure everywhere in Barbados is dated but apart from that amazing food staff and service would definitely go again !!
If you are a young person and want to have a good time, this is not the resort for you. Needs a lot of renovation and is at best a mom and pop type of "resort" The people who work in the establishment are very nice and friendly, but it definitely gives you a vibe of staying at your grandmas house or worse. I went with my friends during crop over and of course we went to parties and the Gap. Coming home at like 2 in the morning we would find the doors closed and you would have to knock on the door to be let in. Never in my life have I seen that at a resort. The food was not great, medicore at best. If you got to lunch for example late there would be nothing left and they wouldnt restock. If you got there early sometimes they wouldn't be ready. The bartenders were nice and the drinks were good. They have no motorized sports so if you wanted to jet ski for instance you would have to go the the resort beside the beach club to get jet skis. The rooms were clean but they need to update the furniture and decor, very old fashion. This resort needs a new paint job and expanision. If you want more of a family type of resort that is fairly small then this is the place for you.
