We were delayed on our flight home to the U K and thomsoncruises put us up here for the night. Fabulous location but that's were it ends. The food is appalling the decor is tired in the extreme and cockroaches scuttle the corridors. One to definitely avoid.
We stayed over at Sunbay Hotel, which was about a 2 mins walk to this hotel. On my birthday, we decided to visit this hotel. Worst idea ever! On entering , we asked the receptionist to locate us to the restaurant. She was rude and just pointed and did not even take the time to let us know that the breakfast was buffet style and cost $65 BBD/ $32.50 USD for each person. On entering the restaurant after we located it by ourselves, we were informed that breakfast starts at 7:30 am and we can have coffee/tea while we wait. Still was not informed about the cost and even that it was buffet style. One of the very waitress shouted to us PASS ON THE OTHER SIDE and was tapping on the table in a rude manner. After which we waited , when we entered to finally have breakfast and the hostess asked for our room number, then we were informed about the breakfast! Totally disappointed!!
Booked this hotel last minute for a few days away in the sun and we’ve not been disappointed! The hotel is very quiet at the moment but is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the lovely weather. The staff have been fabulous, always friendly and happy to help out. The room was a pleasant surprise, fantastic view from our balcony of the sea and the pool, and a beautiful sunset greeted us on our arrival! There is one main bar by the pool that is open til midnight, and serves all the usual drinks and cocktails. The food has been great- not a huge choice but enough to satisfy all tastes- and the hotel isn’t very busy at the moment. The dinners we’ve had in the Reef View al a Carte restaurant have been excellent. The beach is great, soft white sand and the sea is warm and clear- plenty of sun beds available and the water sports staff are happy to provide free umbrellas if you want them. If you’re looking for a relaxing holiday with good food and a pleasant location, you won’t be disappointed. We will definitely be back!!
Stayed here for 10 days on all inclusive package. Food was overcooked most of the times, too cold and not enough variety. Reception staff was not the most helpful bunch of people and seemed like they did not care. Male Maitre'D in a'la carte Restaurant was disorganised. Cleaning lady and bar staff were amazing though. Building is a bit ran down and desperately screaming for a refurbishment.
Stayed here for two weeks with a party of 7 people for a friends 50th Birthday! The hotel is a little dated in places, but it is compensated but wonderful staff, extremely clean rooms, pool area and restaurants areas and it's great location. The rooms are well equipped with hairdryer, air conditioning, TV, safe, great wardrobe space, comfy beds, and room for all of your belongings. Nothing was too much trouble for housekeeping, and extra hangers, kettle, crockery were all provided upon request. Our room had an issue with hot water and within ten minutes of speaking to reception a maintenance engineer, housekeeping and cleaner were all at our door trying to help us with the problem. Bar staff were always ready for a chat and friendly, and Dougie , one of the management team was always offering helpful advice about the island, places to go, and what to see. I ate breakfast at the hotel five times out of my 15 mornings there, and the food was served, hot, tasted fresh and was well presented. Evening meals we chose different places every night , so I cannot comment about the all inclusive options available at the hotel. We went low season and so the first week of our stay it was quite an empty hotel, but it didn't stop the steel band evening, and other entertainment, as well as the staff making every effort to make our time at the hotel and enjoyable one. The second week and towards the end of our stay the guest numbers started to pick up. Great location for St Lawrence gap, Oistins Fish Fry, Boatyard and all of the other local activities and attractions. Fab holiday.
