Coconut Court Beach Hotel
- What's Included
I booked this hotel based on all the positive reviews. There's no way these are from actual guests. I can't stress enough.. book elsewhere. Radisson and Accra are around the same price with a nicer beach. Radisson was only $100 for the week, but this had better reviews so I booked here. I have NEVER complained about a room or hotel because we're the kind of people who are out exploring from morning to night so the room never bothers me BUT it turns out I do actually need a few BASIC amenities:1. There was no Air conditioning. Two rooms had no working air conditioner. Nothing. On the third room they gave me, they sent in someone to fix it. It didn't fix it, so they sent in another person. That person explained that it wasn't even running on the right voltage!!! That seems like a pretty major error. It was 37 degress Celcius OUTSIDE (imagine how hot it was in the closed room!). The room at night was unbearable. But after the third room change and them sending people in to fix it, I realized THIS is it.2. I need a blanket. No big deal right? Well I called front desk and his response was "Housekeeping is closed". Luckily for me, the air conditioner didn't work so I didn't actually need the blanket.3. I need hot water. The first room had no hot water. None. So I told the manager who responded, "You didn't let it heat up". Thank you. I know how hot water works. Two people showering back to back really should be enough time to heat up4. I need one window. The first room had absolutely no windows to look out. They were frosted and sealed shut. This was also the room with no hot water. On the bright side, this was the only one of the three rooms I was given with air conditioning. The list goes on. I wish I could list everything. Feel free to ask me any questions. I really tried to love this hotel. I really, really did. But I just wanted ONE comfortable night's sleep out of 8 nights there. Nope. Interestingly of all the conversations I had with people, not one said they'd return and they didn't have all these issues.Pros: The beach was pretty nice and very clean. Akeem, the bartender, was always in a great mood and always looked like he was having a fun time. The second manager I spoke to refunded me two night's stay out of the eight.
This is the second time I have been to Barbados and also this hotel. It is in a great location with a nice beach and sea views from the rooms (not the apartments though if you are booking). The snorkelling is great here and very safe, there is also a pool for those who prefer it. The rooms aren't fancy but are well maintained and clean (personally I don't go to Barbados to sit in a room). The staff are friendly and I would recommend booking trips through the hotel as they have excellent knowledge and contacts.
This hotel really needs updating nothing like the pictures We arrived and the room we were given was vile We complained but the manager wasn't in any hurry to change our rooms even after admitting that it was an old room ( understatement ) eventually we were given another room which wasn't much better.Food at the hotel was good we didn't stay around much as barbafos has some great places to visit.Definitly will return but I think a different hotel will be in the cards.
We ended up checking into Coconut Court Beach Hotel after we had issues at our previous hotel. We stopped by at about 9:30pm at night just to see if they had a room and while they didn't have one available (because, understandably, housekeeping was gone for the evening), they left a note for the staff the next morning and told us to stop by in the morning and they would get us set ASAP. Well, they weren't kidding! When we arrived the next morning, about 9:30am, they had received the note, got us all "checked in" and assured us they would have a room for us asap, even calling housekeeping while we were there to check how soon a room would be ready. We were in our room well before noon! Everyone was friendly, they food was great and the staff was genuinely there to ensure you enjoyed your stay. We loved the rooms and the views were beautiful. They had a more "modern" type of decor, plenty of space and I don't think there's a room that could have had a bad view! The fridge/micro was a great addition to the rooms! There is plenty of seating on the beach, both in the shade under trees and in the sun, and the security guards do a fantastic job of letting you enjoy your time, yet also ensuring that the locals don't bother you too much trying to sell you things! We ate several meals at the resort and all were great with decent selection and they bar right across the street, The Blue Room, was equally as great! We enjoyed our drinks and food, as well as the company from the bartenders! Even as a couple without kids, while there were some kids there, they seemed to stay mostly by the pool and we really didn't feel that effected our time there at all!The location is also great if you are looking to step off the resort and try different bars and restaurants! Our only regret is not choosing Coconut Court to begin with! We can't say enough about the hospitality and care this resort takes of their property to ensure that the guests have the best time possible! You won't regret staying here!
Very surprised on the great reviews of this hotel, I myself did not have the same experience. The pictures on the website are very deceiving, they look a lot bigger than what the hotel actually looks like. Pool deck is tiny, and 2 of the pools are basically for kids. Rooms are subpar, small and in my opinion not worth the price. I upgraded to the ocean view studio suite because of all the complaints of the older unrenovated rooms, yet I still had many of the same problems that people were experiencing in the older rooms:1- Bathroom door did not lock2- Toilet had an issue flushing3-My parents room was the same room class as mine, their shower had a holster to put soap and shower items on, mine did not. The soap had to be put on the bottom of the shower floor.4-Half a shower door, very odd design5-Uncomfortable mattress and pillows, I had TERRIBLE sleep the first 3 nights until my body was used to it , can't wait to get home to my sealy memory foam mattress. The beach is very rocky, most of the time we ventured out to another beach on the island that was away from our hotel. At night, it's so dead on the hotel grounds. Little to no people were outside at night. When I booked the free round trip airport transfer, the hotel picked us up based on the time our flight landed. They told me over the phone the return transfer to the airport would arrive three hours before our flight. Why they couldn't base the return transfer on the same premise is beyond me. If you can pick us up from the airport at any given time then why can't you drop us back there on the same grounds. Had to wait for 2 hours to get a ride back to the airport after 12 pm check out because apparently there were only 2 times for the transfer - 10 am and 2 pmTo top it all off, my A/C broke during the last 2 days of my stay. Told the front desk twice about it and no one fixed or accommodated me. Terrrible service on their part. On the postitive side, the housekeeping and staff are very nice and polite. The activity desk lady(forgot her name) was great- friendly and gave us a good deal on excursions. John at the deck restaurant is THE MAN!!!!!! Very helpful, accommodating, informative and a great conversationalist. When every my family went down to happy hour he took care of us. Look for him, he will suggest great things to do on ithe island as well as great places to eat. But alas, overall a very disappointing experience here in my opinion.
