Coconut Court Beach Hotel
- What's Included
I booked this because of price. Our room was large and clean, our view was to the ocean with the out buildings as well. You can upgrade to complete ocean views. All rooms seemed to have an ocean view. The staff at this hotel and on people on the island are the best. Have you ever been in the Caribbean and been chased down because you paid too much, welcome to the Bajun culture we experienced. From the minute we checked in front staff, bar/restaurant staff, ALL staff, made you feel at home. The TripAdvisor rating is well deserved. This is the first hotel in the Caribbean I can say I will return to next year, just a longer next time.
We have stayed many times in Barbados but this was our first stay at Coconut Court - it did not disappoint. We arrived New Years Eve and we were invited to a party the hotel put on for guests with complimentary food and drinks. A lovely surprise and we enjoyed watching fireworks on the beach at midnight.Check in - very quick and friendly. Wifi sorted and log on details given. We registered a card but paid as we went so no charge. Your choice so you can what suits.Room - We had #89 I Shot the Sheriff. Loved the room names and earthworks signs. We had booked a deluxe oceanfront room and we were very happy with this - lovely view and basic kitchenette with fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave and crockery/cutlery. We had a room on top floor which was great for us as we like to go to bed early and get up early so it was good to not have anyone above us. There are no lifts which was fine for us as like the steps and got help with luggage. Request a lower floor if you don’t like stairs.Food - We did not eat in hotel.Breakfast - made in room and ate on balconyLunch - made in room and ate on beach or visited deli across the road (left out of hotel and next to convenience store and Mama Mia). Don’t go too late or everything has gone.Evenings - Just Grillin’, Ackee Tree (open till 7), Shakers, Champers, Buzos and take out from Mama Mia. All were good apart from service at Mama Mia.We had a car and used ZR to get out and about and visit places and get food for breakfast and lunch (IMart Lanterns, 99 Convenience Store Quayside and Massy Worthing). We always usually spend time at Miami/Enterprise Beach but on this trip we couldn’t see the point of leaving the lovely hotel beach - it is perfect with no rush for sun beds and plenty of shade under the trees. The staff of the hotel were a great asset. They were friendly, chatty and helpful and the whole place had a relaxed and happy atmosphere. On our early mornings, we would walk out of the front of the hotel, right along the road and down the steps to the boardwalk. Going on the boardwalk 630-730 was lovely and we returned along the beach. We particularly appreciated he work of the 2 men who maintained the beach and the pool/stairs area. They both worked raking, sweeping and tidying and their hard work was appreciated in cleaning and maintaining those areas. Housekeeping - Our room was always cleaned and made up promptly each day.We enjoyed happy hours but were surprised that beer was not on either happy hour. We would have preferred bottled beer and to have it on happy hour so ended up getting rum punch at happy hour and buying own beer at store and drinking that on beach. Wifi was free and good near hotel and in our room. On the beach - sometimes good and sometimes not but hey hoy I’m on the beach and should have a break from it. Check out - 12 noon. There is a courted shower room and you can book 1/2hr slot. All in all, excellent stay and would love to return - next time for longer. Thanks for lovely holiday Coconut Court and keep up the good work.
This is our second stay at this family run hotel. The first time was 4 years ago so it is tempting to make a comparaison but the first time one has a lot more to discover on the island! Our impression this time is that the room and the hospitality have been very similar and both satisfying. Breakfast has been a little disappointing, if you are not British and brought up eating eggs and English breakfast, you may struggle a little. You can have toast and cheese with some sweet cereals and a fruit salad but that is it! I wish we could see more green and unsweetened food, natural muesli and fresh tomatoes etc...the days of high fat and sugary breakfast are gone. It is a family run business and conscious that costs of fresh food is high on the island but customers will be grateful for more choice and they will return. We won’t and we can’t recommend this hotel for the food, except to say it is ordinary, however service is good. The access to the beach is excellent as well as to the town by bus, this has been well covered in other comments. Our room was on the side of the hotel with partial view of the sea. Great so far but we were above a noisy generator which stopped us staying too long on the balcony. The traffic is also within earring and can be a little noisy but not so at the front. Overall this was a pleasant stay but if you have been already to this hotel, think again and decide if this is for you. Finally a big thank you to Vaida who helped us decide on our outings, she is charming, knowledgeable and honest. One of the best visits we did was hunte’s Garden. The inland of the island is well worth exploring. That’s it folks!
Spent the day hear relaxing. Swimming and a few happy hour cocktails two for the price of one lovely hotel beach bar with very friendly bar men set on a lovely stretch of beach. Highly recommended and if you walk all the way down Carlisle beach and turn the corner you can't miss it. Thanks to the cooks that served us from the barbecue grill the food was awesome. Find your way here to a little bit of paradise.
We stayed for 10 nights B&B and upgraded from continental breakfast to full breakfast for an extra £4.00per day each. This we paid on arrival. We had ground floor rooms just along from the pool. Ideal for coming in and out from the beach and pool. Also ideal for for when all 4 couples met up early each evening for a few pre-drinks prior to going out for a meal, Oistins, quiz or just a bar meal and more drinks. Great location, Very,Very helpful staff. Great bar on the beach and security to keep the touts at a distance, not that there were many apart from the jet ski guys.... Happy hours we always happily partook as well as the managers welcome evening. Complementary minibus into George Town from the hotel was available everyday. The local buses, taxi is and Reggie buses are only B$2 per person (£0.80) helpful to have the correct change. Would come again, but not for a few years, as there are so many other countries to visit in the Caribbean too.
