Perfect for our first trip to Barbados!

We booked a holiday in Barbados to celebrate a milestone wedding anniversary and chose to stay in this hotel based on recommendation. We weren't disappointed! The hotel is right on the beach and has free sunbeds among the palms and almond trees! We stayed in a studio which was well appointed, well decorated and clean, with a small kitchenette area and balcony looking out directly to the sea.The hotel staff are all friendly and efficient and work well as a team to ensure your stay is trouble free. There is a real laid back, friendly atmosphere that infects everyone staying at the hotel! The hotel location is great for accessing other towns and areas. It is five minutes walk to the historic Garrison area and race track, and you can easily walk to other beaches. The bus stop is right in front of the hotel where buses (or kamikaze mini buses) can easily be taken in both directions for just $2. We will return to The Coconut Court on our next visit to the wonderful island of Barbados............

If you need the Internet don't stay here...

I was told the internet service worked when making our reservation. It doesn't. Every once in awhile you could connect with a very slow connection, even sitting in the lobby. I couldn't receive my emails for the entire 8 day stay. They said they were working on it but I saw no real evidence of that. Rooms are a bit on the shabby side for a standard reservation, sure they will offer you an upgrade for another $50 US/night that seemed a bit better (we didn't take it). We heard lots of complaints (4-5) from people checking in about the standard rooms. Lots of stairs to climb, from beach level to third floor room almost 100 steps,so if stairs are an issue get ground floor or another hotel. We would rate our overall experience at this resort as barely average. The exception to that would be Antonio at the beach bar and I would rate his service and attitude at 5 stars.

The perfect hotel for us in Barbados!

We booked the ocean view studio room and it gave us a beautiful view of the pool and ocean. The room was modern and clean and the kitchenette was so handy. We shopped a little at the Hastings Farmers' Market (Wed. & Sat.) and so we were able to keep our fruit and drinks in the frig. The beach is lovely and there are lots of lounges available but the best part is that there is lots of shade from the palms and almond trees. No more fighting for an umbrella or a lounge on the beach at this hotel! The water is calm due to a reef they have built offshore and the snorkeling was good around the stones that made up the reef. That was a real bonus! The pool and hot tub area were also really nice. It's not a huge hotel but it was never crowded in the pool area and they don't have loud music blaring all day long or activity people bugging you. They have Happy Hour 12-1 and 5-6 at the beach bar and Antonio the bartender is amazing. There are also Happy Hours later at the Blue Room across the street. The maintenance staff are always working to keep everything nice and the housekeeping staff, especially Mervina, were friendly and welcoming. The owner, Mark, is out and about in the hotel and makes the guests feel so at home. You can tell it's a family owned hotel and that he really cares about how your holiday is going. The location is very good for stores and restaurants as well. Don't miss Mama Mia's across the street. Try the Greek salad, the lasagna and the thin crust pizza. You won't be disappointed! Blakey's on the Boardwalk, just down the beach is also good and they have music some nights on the outside patio. The little white mini buses will take you to St. Lawrence Gap, Bridgetown or pretty much anywhere along the main road for $2. You just ring the bell and they let you off wherever you want. All in all we had a wonderful holiday at the Coconut Court Beach Hotel and when we return to Barbados we will stay there for sure. If you want a great hotel choose this one!

Simply perfect

First visit to the Caribbean for my husband's 50th birthday surprise in November, and it couldn't have been more perfect. This incredibly friendly island has spoilt us. Everything about this friendly, family run hotel was ideal. The location, the staff, the food all on a beautiful beach. Perfect. We booked a superior ocean view. The fully equipped room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The balcony had spectacular views of the beach. I especially like the fact that door to the room is from a covered walk way, so we had a balcony on both sides. The hotel is on quite a main road but this has it's benefits because the bus conveniently stops right outside. The regular links in both directions were very good. $2 per journey, per person, irrelevant of distance, and quite an experience, but a good experience. We met people who return to the hotel year after year and I can really see why. I would highly recommend. As I said, simply perfect. Thank you Coconut Court for making our stay so memorable.
