Coconut Court Beach Hotel
- What's Included
Enjoyed a lovely relaxing week here after a cruise. We were originally given a ground floor room but asked for a higher floor to enjoy the great view of the beach. The room was large, clean with a massive comfortable bed and had everything we needed. Allthe staff were friendly and helpful. There was a DJ or entertainment most nights which was good as there is only a few places to eat and drink nearby although you can get the local buses to St Lawrence Gap. The beach bar is great and the service very good. Would recommend this hotel for its position for a quiet relaxing holiday.
If anyone is lucky enough to visit Barbados, (as I have done about 8 times) and stay at this hotel, an Island Tour with the only barefoot guide on the island is very highly recommended. He is the son-in-law of the owners and his wife books trips for guests but never pushes her husband's tours. What he doesn't know about the island's culture, history, religion, property etc. could be written on a flea's kneecap as Paul O Grady would say!
We have recently returned home after a lovely holiday in Barbados, staying at the Coconut Court. We had an ocean view studio, it had a lovely balcony overlooking the pool area and the beach. The bed was comfortable, the room was nicely decorated and had everything you could need for a relaxing holiday. There was a kitchen area with 2 rings, microwave, sink and kettle if you wanted to self cater. We were on a B&B basis and found the buffet breakfast served each morning more than enough to keep us going and did not choose any cooked extras. The pool area is very nice but we did not spend much time there as the beautiful beach was only a few steps away! It has natural shade from the palm trees and a lovely reef where we spent a lot of time snorkelling amongst the colourful fish. We also saw plenty of turtles which was amazing. We enjoyed happy hour at the beach bar. Lovely rum punches! We visited other beaches but I was always glad to get back to "our" beach at Coconut Court! The evening entertainment was always good. We booked a couple of excursions and I would highly recommend "Ted's Tours" where we visited several places of interest on the island, ending at a plantation house where we had a lovely buffet lunch. Rum punch was served at all the stops! An entertaining and enjoyable day. We ate out at the "Blue Room" opposite the hotel and the Pizza restaurant across the street. Both very nice and we liked the "Tapas" restaurant along the boardwalk. If you cross the road opposite the Tapas there are a few shops where you can get provisions, there is also a very nice Chinese restaurant. We also walked to St Lawrence Gap one day where there are many more restaurants to chose from. We very much enjoyed our stay here, the only downside is the busy road and the constant honking of horns but you do get used to it and it is not the fault of the Coconut Court. We would definitely stay here again.
The ocean view rooms here cannot be beat! Beautiful beach, great sand and wonderful palm trees all over. Sea turtles every morning and night with the tide and hundreds of fish to look at right at the beach. The water is amazing and warm. Great lounge chairs and plenty of room. There is a restaurant/bar and a beach bar on site. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The rooms were clean and appeared to be newly decorated and updated. Great shower too. Private balcony with a seating area. The only downfall was the main road is very noisy. The AC drowned out most but drivers honk at everything in Barbados 8-) This would NOT stop me from going again. The rest of the hotel is quiet and great. Earplugs would have helped tho!
I'm writing this review on our last morning on the beautiful beach at Coconut Court. We came here after a weeks cruise and have not been disappointed. The position of the hotel is great, the staff are even more great in fact they're wonderful.Particular thanks to our lovely chambermaid who looked after us in room 90 very well,We've found the hotel to be very nice with big rooms, a pretty decent restaurant and a great beach bar. It has a great laid back atmosphere and nothing seems to be too much trouble. It's very handy for the lovely boardwalk where you can eat at Blakeys and Tapas Without breaking the bank. Breakfast in the hotel pretty good also with enough choice and reasonably priced. This is our 5th visit to Barbados but our first at Coconut Court so thank you management and staff we've had a great holiday, and we will be back.Alex & Catherine Wilson
