It's not an upgraded five star resort but it has everything you need. Great choice fit the budget concuious traveler. This hotel is right on the beach. Has excellent staff throughout. Everyone from the the front desk clerks to maid staff is always helpful and available if you need anything. Only grip would be the WiFi at the hotel can be spotty at times. Would definitely stay again if I'm ever in Barbados again!
Vacation at Coconut Court Sept. 16 -23, 2016 + 3 extra days to get temporary passports to get back to Canada. The staff advised us that with a police report we would be able to get on the plane. Not true. We were told that the hotel was full and only when we insisted that they needed to provide accommodations, they reluctantly found room for which we had to pay. The stolen passports resulted in total cost of over $1,000 Canadian. The hotel management was not helpful and because of this we cannot recommend Coconut Beach Resort as a safe vacation place.
excellent hotel, family owned and really great staff, friendly and helpful.restaurants and bars all good, and over all cleanliness was perfect.our room was one of the ocean view standard, and was spacious clean and comfortable.Lovely beach with palm and almond tree shade, we even had a humming bird nesting in one of the beach trees!of the tours on offer, we tried the catamaran snorkel trip, which was great, but Teds Tour of the island was outstanding, fun informative and gave us a good knowledge of the island, well worth the money!.
Well run family owned hotel. Very clean property with large rooms with fridge, toaster, microwave and kettle. Missed the coffee maker and a box of kleenex. Staff and management polite and helpful. Antonio at Sea Grapes bar was riot along with Ted our guide for the day on the tour around the island. WiFi didn't work in our room so I really missed it to locate things and places on the island. Only ate three meals there and the service was mediocre and the food was okay. We were on the second floor but going up and down stairs constantly reeked havoc on our knees. Even if you are on the first floor which is at pool level you still climb stairs down to the beach or a long flight up to street level. Grounds kept spotless and staff hard working. Would probably return someday. Was confused about the rooms when talking to other guests. We had a deluxe ocean front with no facial tissue or toiletries in the washroom and no coffee maker. Other guests said they had those items in their rooms. Those items are always standard in all the hotels I have been in so we were puzzled by this.
This hotel is in a great location, on the sea front, just outside Bridgetown. This was my 5th visit to Barbados and I chose the hotel because of it's location, being a short car journey from Carlisle Bay and St Lawrence Gap.The Positives:I felt totally safe day and night at this hotel. Security patrolled all areas of the site and questioned people who weren't registered guests. It was nice to lie on the beach and not be bothered by beach traders. Hadfield took time to speak to guests and was a thoroughly nice man.I found Janielle and Donna on front desk/duty manager to be particularly helpful and remedied any problems we had quickly. The negatives:We booked a two bed apartment in the annex, but this wasn't available until night 4 of our stay. We were upgraded to two sea facing rooms in the main hotel block and we stayed there for the duration of our stay. This was a free upgrade and we were reluctant to be downgraded to the annex, so asked to stay put. We didn't want to pack up and move across the road half way through our holiday. I should point out that these rooms were in the west block and haven't seen any of the renovations that are evident around the hotel. The best thing about these rooms are the comfy beds, quiet/functioning air conditioning and free room safe. To be fair I did sleep well. Not sure that the bedding was changed in the 8 nights I was there. Towels were changed as often as I wanted, but they were often stained with what I assume to be suncream and they were too small. The room was quite simply dated, tired and unloved. Nothing was broken, everything functioned, it was just a room that hadn't seen any new furniture or a decent coat of paint in 20 years. Some rooms in this block had new flat screen TVs, ours did not. The wifi did not work in the rooms. We didn't eat in the restaurant as it was cheaper to eat out. The food looked ok, but we were not willing to pay £25 each for average looking buffet food.Summary:I wouldn't stay here again. There are better hotels for a similar price. If you're sure that you'll get a refurbished room, then perhaps give it a go, but it's not for me.
