Crystal cove has so much to offer. The resort is highly recommended. On arrival me and my girlfriend were very welcomed by the friendly staff. Then we was shown to our sea view room which was fabulous but after one nights sleep that the crashing of the sea waves was too much to handle so we decided to ask for a room change. In all fairness the staff were great and understood our issue and was moved to a sea/garden view room No.212 which was perfect enough not to hear crashing waves.Crystal cove has a wonderful beach and hosts many watersport activities and very friendly staff as well. There is a nice size swimming pool with a swim up bar called a 'cave bar' a nice touch to relax and drink your cocktails. The food was to die for great variety and a different menu every night. There was a live band most nights which was knockout some good tunes from the 80's (Simon Cowell get down there)I would like to thank all the staff for a fantastic stay but a big thank you to Chris,Raheem,Marissa, and Nakita for there outstanding services to me and my girlfriend during our stay.It looks very likely that we are coming back to see you all again same time next year. Many Thanks For A Truly Memorable Time
We have just returned after 10 wonderful nights, post holiday blues have now well and truly set in! A warm welcome along with an ice cold rum lunch awaits you on arrival to this small and very Caribbean feeling hotel (you will understand when you see it). The staff were very professional (don't be mistaken for grumpy) and also extremely funny (Tanya) enjoying much banter, singing and dancing and all this while looking after you, they are 5 Star staff and a credit to the hotel! I have Coeliacs disease which makes me extremely ill if I eat gluten, the staff at the hotel made sure my dietary needs were catered for. On arrival to the hotel I filled out a form which allowed me to choose gluten free food options for breakfast. In the morning they took me through my choices for the evening meal when it was an a la carte night, or making me something I would like if there wasn't anything I didn't like on the menu (I am fussy). After breakfast and or evening meal you can ask for any of your choices or like me had fresh fruit, yogurt, omelette, scrambled egg and bacon, you must ask for bacon to made separately as the bacon in the buffet breakfast is on a layer of bread which naturally soaks up the grease. Food was fantastic! The swim up bar is still a bit of a blur due to working my way through the wonderful cocktails. The beach was lovely with plenty of water sports to keep you amused or just have a paddle, swim or sun worship! The water sports team were superb, always happy to assist you. The jet Ski guys who were not part of the hotel were also nice guys and great to chat to, there was no pressure to rent the jet ski, remember it's how they make their living. There is also a water taxi that takes you to the sister hotels along the west coast, remember Waves hotel is on the dine around programme as it is all inclusive, Tamarind and Colony club are not, but worth a visit. A must for the experience is the reggae reggae yellow bus! OMG it is a bus ride you will never forget! We took it down to the south coast sister hotel,Turtle beach (also on the dine around programme), which took around 40 minutes. When spending time at the different hotels make sure you pick up your ID card from reception. The locals were nothing but helpful and friendly. The only criticism I have is that the shower needs updating and some parts of the hotel needs some TLC, apart from that it is a great place to stay.
Thank you Crystal Cove for making my 40th birthday holiday with my husband and 2 friends a memorable one. It didn't start off too well as we were at Turtle Beach originally. We were very disappointed with the hotel there, very tired looking so we were grateful to be moved to Crystal Cove. On arrival there, we were greeted with a very warm welcome from Brian. A very friendly man who couldn't do enough for us. The hotel is kept very clean and the gardens are kept very tidy. It really is a picturesque hotel. Especially at sunset....perfect.Our days were spent on the beach and around the pool. Great that there is a water taxi to visit the other hotels in this group too. Good to go to Tamarind hotel (not part of the all inclusive) we looked around Holetown afterwards and the shops there. We got the reggae bus back afterwards. That's an experience ha ha, very fast and busy.Back at Crystal Cove the food was brilliant. We never had a bad meal. Also what is nice is the Vista Bar. Great for tapas, wine and nice coffees and also the cave bar is something a little different. All the staff are very friendly and made us all feel very welcome. It's a small hotel but very nice and has the personal touch. Brian made a point of saying goodbye to us as we were leaving and remembered all of our names. All in all we had a fabulous time away and would love to return one day.
I really don’t like leaving bad reviews but this place could be great hotel if it was sorted , some of the staff can be so rude and miserable you ask for a drink it’s like your asking them for a kidney , the food choice at night is so restricted to about 4 choices first night we arrived after 12 hour journey we went to the restaurant and my girlfriend is a vegetarian the menu had one thing on it for her we asked the waitress if there was anything else she said no it’s that or nothing for a 4 star hotel it’s disgusting, breakfast is perfect rooms are ok bathrooms could do with being refurbished but ok very disappointed crystal cove could do so much better
Visited Crystal Cove twice as part of the Elegant hotels dine around programme. We did not have a room so cannot comment about that but we did arrive early enough for breakfast & stayed until late afternoon. On entering the property we were greeted by the most fabulous view from the top of the hotel. An interesting observation about Crystal Cove is that it has many stairs to enter the main parts of the hotel & does not offer a lift. We were travelling with a toddler & a pushchair & found it inaccessible to the main areas with the pushchair so had to leave our pushchair with reception. This hotel wouldn't be suitable for Someone with limited mobility. Breakfast was nice & was served in one of the main outdoor restaurants. It had a good choice of food & someone who made freshly cooked eggs of your choice. It was similar to the breakfast at Turtle Beach where I was staying but with a slightly smaller selection of food. It was more than adequate. Notably it had a net covering the perimeter of the restaurant to prevent birds from entering which I thought was a nice touch although it didn't always stop them from coming in. Lunch was ok. Food was bland considering we were in the Caribbean. Meat & fish seemed to be cooked without any seasoning & lacked flavour. After tasting some of the bland meat & fish I opted for a freshly made Caesar salad which was delicious. I did not use the pools at either of my visit but they were quite small with very limited Sun beds around the pool. Most of the Sun beds were located on the beach which forced us to spend our time there instead of poolside. The beach was a surprisingly small with stones & rocks within the sand & sea but with calmer waters than the South Coast. I would advise wearing water shoes especially for children. I didn't find all of the water sports staff as friendly as the other two Elegant hotels. One guy was rather abrupt when I asked him to explain how some of the water activities were & how they worked. The other guy was much more approachable. I decided to do the water sports activities at Waves as it was less busy & more approachable staff. There is a water taxi that takes you to the other Elegant hotels on the West Coast. We visited Waves & was good to compare the hotels. One thing to note is the timetable of the water taxi. They visit the other hotels at specific times which are quite spaced out during the day with almost a two hour break for lunch. We were not able to visit the other two hotels on either of our visits because of the time the water taxi schedule was much later in the day than we wanted & the service stops around 4pm which wouldn't have allowed us to visit to hotel & return. My suggestion is if you want to visit all of the hotels using the water go as early as possible. With that being said the water taxi is a great way to get around & its FREE!! This hotel has a lovely clean & well organised Kids Club with wonderfully friendly staff. My son spent some time here & enjoyed every minute. My only reservation is the location of the Kids Club. It's a fair walk from the rest of the main parts of the hotel, tucked away at the back but had a nice large scale electric racing set that my son loved but the disappointment was that it did not work. The hotel grounds was immaculate & clean. Some of the rooms from the outside looked nice. Crystal Cove is aesthetically beautiful looking small hotel. However, I think this hotel is more suited to adults as I didn't find it as lively & family friendly as it could be. This place is ideal for couples/honeymooners.
