We (two adults, two children aged 7 and nearly 2) spent 7 days at Crystal Cove in the start of May 2017. The hotel is not particularly large (88 rooms, I believe) spread over couple of hundred yards of beach-front on the West coast of Barbados. To me, as a tourist Barbados gave a lovely, welcoming atmosphere. The people were genuinely friendly and interested, happy to stop for a chat, offer advice on places to go and things to see, and just pass the day with you. This was especially noticeable at Crystal Cove where the staff gave 110% effort all the time. They were great with our children, particularly in the restaurants. The facilities at the hotel are really good. The pools are all nice - not particularly large, but really nicely laid out and plenty of space, enough tables and chairs and so on, for the number of guests at the hotel. Similarly the restaurants were never too busy/full, and there were always lots of staff around. The beach front is great, and the water sports facilities really good. We're keen snorkellers. Sadly that wasn't particularly good here, but the hotel chain provides a free water taxi service between its four hotels on this coastline, and the Northern-most one (Colony Club, about 30 mins away, two stops on the boat) is next door to the Folkestone Marine Park, which was really good - we went there several times. If you fancy swimming with turtles there are a couple of companies which will pick you up from the beach, take you to a place where they have been trained to regularly come for food, and let you snorkel with them. Then they take you to a spot where there is a sunken ship to snorkel over, which was really good. We got this for $100US, for two adults and two children and thought it was good value for money.Later in the week we hired a car (Stoutes vehicle rental were great, dropped off and picked up from the hotel at no extra charge). We drove to Browns Beach in Bridgetown where there was another wreck to swim/dive on - we got a boat trip straight out from the beach for $50US. We also found that you could swim out from the beach out to the tour parties and see the turtles for free - and that after about 4pm the bay was full of them, they ambled around more freely and you could have them to yourself! We don't tend to go to places more than once, we generally like to visit somewhere new whenever we holiday - but we would be very tempted to go to Crystal Cove again.
We are staying at The Turtle Beach Hotel this week, but had the great opportunity today to visit Crystal Cove as well for the day on Elegant Hotel's dine around program. The idea is that if you are staying at one of their all inclusive properties in Barbados, you have the option to visit another all inclusively as well.It was well worth it! From the moment we arrived today at the hotel, we were warmly greeted by Claire and her big smile at the front desk and were made to feel immediately welcome. Next we went to breakfast where we met Trayce who went out of her way to get us a dinner reservation that wasn't originally available so that we could make our taxi ride back. Finally we had the great pleasure of meeting Devin, who works at the pool and beach. Devin gave us outstanding service and went out of his way to provide it for us. He saw us searching for shaded seats (which weren't available) and moved an umbrella from another area and created the perfect setting from which to spend the day! Anytime a drink was empty, Devin was right there to fill it! Anytime we needed anything we could count on Devin before we even needed to ask. Devin was the epitome of great customer service and really made this day in Paradise memorable! Thank you, Crystal Cove! We had a great day!

We stayed at Crystal Cove from the 8th May for 5 nights and from the moment we arrived we were treated with the utmost courtesy. We were shown to an Ocean View room which was just as I'd imagine, beautiful and spacious and a bottle of chilled fizz to celebrate our homeymoon. The view from our balcony was breathtaking, literally on the beach. The staff are lovely and friendly and nothing is too much trouble and we found this throughout Barbados. The food and drink was plentiful and very nice. I wouldn't hesitate to go back here and was quite sad to leave but we had another week booked in Grenada which was also fabulous.Thank you to everyone for making our honeymoon get off to a great start.
