Just back from a lovely week at Crystal Cove. It's a long way to go just for a week but it was very relaxing once we were there and as we were being treated there really is nothing to complain about. Lovely staff, accommodation and food.
This is a lovely place to come to for a holiday. We stayed for 10 nights and were fortunate to book an oceanview junior suite (a late cancellation) which was gorgeous. The grounds are immaculate and the facilities are good. Sunbeds have deep cushions and a 'pram hood' which can be used for personal shade. We ate out quite a lot but the food we did have at the hotel was enjoyable and the wine was very good (although the restaurants were probably understaffed some of the time). The housekeeping is efficient and non invasive. The staff are wonderful - friendly and warm and great fun! We dined around at the contemporary Waves and the lovely Bajan Tamarind. The entertainment was fantastic on an evening - particularly the Bridgetown Boyz. Crystal Cove is a very sociable hotel. Their new air-conditioned coffee/cocktail bar is a great place to meet people before and after dinner! In fact while we were there several people were back for their ninth visit! That's always a great sign! If I was to pick one thing which could be improved, it would be that the bathroom needed a power shower, but that's not going to stop me coming back as I've already rebooked!
We have returned back from a very hospitable time at the crystal cove, if your looking to relax and be pampered well you will not be disappointed here, we stayed for a week and found this was ideal time spent, we personally ate in the reflections mostly day and evening as this suited us best compared to the open air drifters although the drifters offered a fantastic range of food in the day it was just too hot in the open air to eat for my wife. All the staff were fantastic in every way there efforts to make you feel welcome was highly appreciated. Yes do book this place I cannot see any reason not too just expect the bathrooms to be a little dated compared to new hotels with that in mind you will not be dissatisfied although they are updating them, evening entertainment was good and didn't last too late into the evening.
The set out and grounds of this hotel are delightful. The staff are very polite and friendly. The food is excellent. Breakfast has so many choices including full cooked breakfast, egg station, waffle maker, fruit, yogurts plus the usual croissants, cakes, toast, etc. Lunch is either a la carte or Drifters Restaurant do a buffet, plus wraps, hot dogs, burgers. The menus for the evening meals are put out at breakfast so you can choose between either restaurants. I have an allergy and I could pre order my meals each morning. The beach is lovely, usually lots of sunbeds which were really comfortable and had an attached hood that you could bring over the bed if it rained or you needed shade. Lots of free water activities including water skiing, banana boat, etc. Thay also bring round drinks, jellys, fruit and ice lollies, which was a lovely touch. We had room 216, which had red staines in the bath and on the floor, also the drawers could not be opened without other drawers opening at the same time. We thought that the only sockets apart from the kettle were behind the beds but on last day found more by the safe in the wardrobe. For the cost per night we expected the room to be a little smarter, which is the reason I did not give 5 stars, however none of the above points ruined our hotel and would book again and highly recommend this hotel. I would like to advise that if you are a smoker there is no smoking on your balcony and if it rains there is nowhere undercover, but this is also the case for non smokers, perhaps it would be nice if the hotel could dry off the outside seating after it rains, so you can sit outside after meals and when listening to the entertainment. The entertainment was probably one of the best I have experienced in any hotel. The hotel supply beach towels daily to your room although this was not done five days out of 10 so we just collected them from reception. Wi-fi was good and available in every area of the hotel. Basically if you need anything just ask as I'm sure that the staff will accommodate your request if possible. To be honest I didn't want to leave.
Excellent location and beach ,excellent cheerful staff, good food and well presented. Plenty of sunlounges on the beach with integral shade, Drinks are brought to the beach regularly. We like eating in Reflection Restaurant where the food is very well presented. One tip - bring swim shoes if you like to go in the sea.
