Just back from a memorable stay at Crystal cove where from start to finish the service and hospitality was first class. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to experience a relaxed, well run, quality hotel on the beach.
We had a wonderful stay at Crystal Cove with our nearly 2-year-old son. The atmosphere was just so warm and welcoming. Absolutely loved the Bajan vibe! This is our first time in the Caribbean (but hopefully not the last!). Would highly recommend this hotel to other parents. Initially it was school term time so there were mainly toddlers. However, we saw a lot more school age children towards the end. They have a great Kids Club led by Carolyn and her very friendly team, including Stephanie and J. The swimming pools are great for kids. My son enjoyed sitting at the swim-up bar enjoying his usual (cup of ice), which the staff got to know and often joked with him about (note the staff are very attentive at remembering everyone's likes/dislikes, which makes you feel special!). Even the beach is nice for little ones as opposed to areas along the South Coast where waves can be quite choppy. We got on the reggae reggae bus a few times, which was fun (and super-cheap). Can't say I would be daring enough to get on a local bus in most countries, but this was fine even with the little one. We enjoyed the food. I thought it was better than I had expected from an all-inclusive. Restaurant staff were all pleasant and helpful, particularly Dawna, Shaunna and Michael. Reception staff were all very pleasant too and Fabian the doorman was very friendly and helpful. So here is the slight issue we had. On our second night there, our room flooded with water from the toilet. This was something that could either make or break our whole holiday. But the way the staff handled the situation professionally and were so supportive of the difficulty caused to us, could not be faulted in any way. It was a bit of a shock in the middle of the night to suddenly find water rushing everywhere. I called Reception and Stephanie from the night staff arrived promptly. She told us that housekeeping would be back at 7am and arranged for us to be moved to another room for the night. However, she then got some boots and gloves and got stuck in trying to mop up the water. She could have easily said this wasn't her job and just left it for housekeeping in the morning, but she didn't. She helped us pick up damaged belongings from the floor (luckily not many) and helped us with the move to another room with baby in the middle of night. Michael from Security also helped a lot in this situation. The following morning one of the managers Shane was very apologetic about the problem and upgraded us to a suite for the rest of our stay. Chris from housekeeping was also very helpful in the morning, sanitising all our belongings that were soaked by the water. It turns out that Barbados generally doesn't have a great sewage system and the toilets are generally problematic (information we received from someone who had nothing to do with the hotel). We enjoyed the experience of swimming with turtles. However, I would probably recommend organising this through a local company rather than the hotel. We arranged it through the hotel. However, they spent longer picking up passengers from other hotels than anything else. As a result we reached the area with the turtles too late and did not get to see any, which was disappointing. I then organised a separate boat trip with one of the beach boys Dwayne at a lower cost than the hotel. It turned out to be exactly the same guys on the same boat, but this time they didn't stop off anywhere and we got to see a turtle, so it was worthwhile! Bit annoying we had to pay for this twice though. It did feel quite rushed both times, so I feel we would have been better off going through a local company who take time to maximise chances of seeing turtles. We visited 2 of the sister hotels- Waves and Turtle Beach (no additional cost other than the cab to Turtle Beach). We are glad we did so as we got to experience these places too. However, Crystal Cove remained my favourite.Overall we had a highly enjoyable stay and feel that Barbados has been possibly our favourite holiday to date! Our choice to stay at Crystal Cove certainly played a big part in this. Would definitely go back 😊
From the moment we arrived at Crystal Cove we were met with such a warm welcome that we knew we were in for a fabulous time ...and we were right ! We were met with a lovely cocktail and then showed to our beautiful Ocean front room ...wow what a view ..Room 218 would highly recommend ! The hotel has a fabulous laid back feeling that settles you right in ! Great staff with fabulous service and the food and service at both Reflections and Drifters was fantastic .We especially loved Drifters and were so lucky to always have a fantastic breach front table that was fantastic for both lunch and dinner . Great standard of food with something for everyone ! Loved the Cave bar too and especially the swim up bar with a great selection of cocktails . A great new addition is the Vista Coffee and Cocktail bar ...fabulous early evening Tapas and wonderful selection of cocktails offering something different . Great pools and lovely beach front with great watersports and of course the water taxi that allows you to visit some of the other Elegant properties ! Great hotel for both couples and families and we felt extremely sad to leave ...but will be back for sure !! Highly recommended ...beautiful hotel with beautiful staff ...thankyou for a wonderful stay !
This was our 1st time in the Caribbean, and the 1st of 4 hotels we stayed in , island hopping for 3 weeks ...and the best! Small enough not to be faceless, lovely friendly staff. Pay for a sea view room- you don't want to waste that view.( yes bathrooms are a little tired) rooms are well appointed. The 3 pools are small ,but who needs a big pool with such a beautiful beach? We have always shied away from all inclusive, but we need not have worried. 2 restaurants to choose from, food very good in both AND waitress service most nights- what a treat instead of those awful buffets! I want to return - NOW !!
Have just returned (sadly) from this hotel..... What an amazing trip! We were away with our 2 children aged 15 and 12.... so not always easy to keep everyone happy, but at Crystal Cove we had smiles all round, for 10 whole days! The all inclusive watersports (including motorised) kept my 15 year old son occupied all day, every day. The guys running this are great, knowledgeable and happy to instruct. I always have a concern regarding food in an all inclusive hotel, ie, a little bland and uninteresting, however I have to say that it was surprisingly good here and plentiful! The staff are what makes this place so fabulous, so friendly and really cannot do enough for you. We stayed in a 2 story Ocean view Suite - fantastic views and right on the beach. There does need some attention to bathrooms, ie, they are looking a little tired, but this really did not detract from our overall stay. A great holiday to suit all families.
