I was very fortunate to spend 4 nights at this fabulous hotel whilst working in Barbados. From the moment I arrived I was made to feel welcome by the staff who were on duty at the time, and shortly afterwards the hotel manager, Sophia, who was at a welcome party came over and made myself and another guest extremely welcome. My room was so nice and the bed probably the best i have slept in of all the hotels I have stayed at. All the restaurants, Cave bar, The Tapas bar, were excellant both for food and ambience, particularly Drifters where you dined on the beach. The staff throughout my stay could not do enough for you and always with a big smile on their faces.I didn't have time to enjoy any of the watersports, but others who did assured me the facilities were top notch. If you are looking for a relaxing holiday I can not recommend this hotel enough.
We just got back from celebrating our honeymoon at Crystal Cove and it was an amazing experience. Crystal Cove took care of us by upgrading our room and giving us a special dessert because we were honeymooners. The resort is beautiful. Small and intimate compared to what we're used to in the Mexican resorts. The food was good, especially for me as a vegetarian. They had a veggie option at every meal plus you could order off the vegan menu if you didn't like what they had that day. We really enjoyed all the water activities they had to offer. We snorkeled daily and saw tons of different fish and eels as well as watched an octopus for about 20 minutes one day. We enjoyed the pool and beach and always had chairs with great views. It wasn't stressful to get a spot. The location is good too. We took the water taxi to Holetown one day and walked around and saw the town. We also took the bus back and forth from Bridgetown which was so fun, safe and the bus driver made sure they knew where we were going to get us home safely. It was a great vacation and I can't say more good stuff about Crystal Cove. I definitely recommend it for your stay!
Just returned from a 5 day stay at this resort. The location, room, hotel and beach were great. The food was just okay. Too heavy on buffets, and seemingly with no rhyme or reason only one of the restaurants was open at any given time. Drifters was open for lunch with buffet as the only option. Reflections was open for a buffet breakfast (again the only option), and two of the four nights it was buffet for dinner. Normally this wouldn't bother me but the food was mediocre at best. Two of our four nights Reflections had dinner service but the quality just wasn't there. For the price paid for this trip I would have expected better and to have a choice on where to eat. We did take the water shuttle to their sister resort, Waves for lunch one day. The food there was the same. There is a wine and tapas bar just off the main lobby, it was a nice place to spend an hour or so before dinner. It stays open til 10 pm and they did have a nice selection of specialty coffees. Night life is somewhat non existent but after a day spent on the beach, that was not bothersome to us. The staff is very accommodating to visitors. Anyone with mobility issues, be warned the resort is laid out so that there are a lot of steps, and they might find it difficult to navigate. All in all, if the price had been a little lower it would have been more in line with the food. I would give this resort a 3 1/2 star report.
We went to Chrystal Cove with my sisters wedding party and we were very disappointed. We had a room upgrade with sea view and the room was very tired and needed a complete overhaul. The main complaint we had was the food and wine, if I said it was average I would be lying you would get better food and wine in a Hungry Horse (poor quality pub chain in England). To rub salt in the wound we went to the sister hotel Colony Club for lunch and the food was excellent. Most of the guests we spoke to also mentioned how poor the food was, the wine was only slightly better than diesel. Every day the menus were very similar and to pay the same money as we did in Mexico where the food/wine was incredible will make sure we will never return the Chrystal Cove again.
Came back to Crystal Cove this year and it didn't disappoint. We were a party of 2 family's (4 in each) and had other friends meeting up so we ended up being a party of 20.Excellent hotel for families fantastic water sports, beautiful beaches and we had some great lunches in Drifters. A special mention to Sasha who organised and helped us out on many occasions. Can't wait to come back next year. All in all a very happy time was had by all. 😎🍸🌅
