First time at this hotel and will be back! Lovely ambience, comfortable rooms, 2 fabulous restaurants and 3 great bars including the fun cave bar. Great location and facilities. The staff were so friendly and the beach team were fab!
We went on this weeks holiday wondering what Crystal Cove would offer, having only visited previously to pick up guest for on island tours. The resort is a medium sized all inclusive resort on Barbados offering the Elegant Groups extras. We took advantage of as many of these as we could fit in during our week (plus 2 bonus days thank you BA) The resort is village style set around a number of manicured gardens, pools and a central piazza. The buildings all look pristine on the outside but are Caribbean chic on the inside (ie some things need a little attention, such as bathrooms, curtains and the like.) We stayed in a Sea View Junior suite which had an ample sized balcony and delight of delights a complimentary minibar and 2 shots of rum and vodka a day. Thanks to BA our final 2 days were in a 1 bedroom sea view suite with a mezzanine bedroom and huge lounge. We both enjoyed the fact that both rooms has his and hers bathrooms so we could get ready at the same time ( A definite plus) The all inclusive comprised all meals generally with a choice of the 2 restaurants with a choice of a la carte or buffet on different evenings, top shelf drinks with an air conditioned coffee bar serving cocktails and canapes in the evening, beach and pool service which off times served drinks, jelly, ice cream or iced lollies and all the watersports you could want. Extras include a dine around programme and best of all a free water taxi going along the West Coast. The resort also provides paid for excursions to the Islands many attractions. We chose to go swimming with turtles, we got a cruise along the West Coast as far North as Cobblers Cove/Speightstown which took us to where we first swam with turtles 10 years or more ago. We also saw a ray and on the return visited a wreck with a variety of fish. We also went on the obligatory trip to Oistins which is much changed since our last visit. The only minor moan we would have about the resort would be that there were a number of children, who at times hogged the pools. The food was good and plentiful as was the drink. There was ample choice of both in a mix of Bajan and international dishes. There were no quibbles about mixing and matching elements from the available menu , or even ordering off piste if the ingredient was available. The whole of the staff from General Manager (thank you Sophia) to room attendant were friendly and helpful. We will be back to check the resort is as good as our memories
My wife & I booked ourselves into the crystal cove for two weeks from the middle of May. We saw a special offer by the hotel offering an ocean view suite for 1/3 off the original price. We had stayed at the crystal cove before but only in a standard room which at the time we really liked. This room however was twice the size at least with plenty of room to sit down or move around the ocean front view was fantastic from our balcony ( room 126 ). The staff in this hotel really are the best we have ever encountered anywhere in the world always greeting you with a cheery hello & big smile & nothing is a problem for them. The grounds are immaculate & tended constantly & with pride by an army of staff. The rooms are very comfortable, clean & well equipped. There are three good sized swimming pools & a lovely good sized beach with safe, clean water. There are numerous water sports available with full tuition if required. There are two main restaurants reflections ( a la carte ) & drifters ( casual). There is also a tapas & wine bar. In closing a lovely hotel with fantastic staff & lovely grounds. There is also a free water taxi running to other elegant group hotels in the area this is a pleasant experience & a good way to investigate the other hotels.
We have just returned home after a short holiday of just 6 nights (no thanks to British Airways!). As soon as we arrived (1day late!) we were provided a drink, rum punch for me! We then went through the very relaxed check in process. From there we were escorted to our room (126) an Ocean view junior suit. The view from our balcony was superb couldn't of asked for a better location, it was also right between the two restaurants. We couldn't fault the room at all. The food is varied enough to keep even the most picky eater happy. They have a buffet at lunch time in drifters which has a variety of hot and cold options with burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches or wraps available if you prefer and each evening meal menu is displayed at breakfast so you can decide were you want to eat. The system seemed to work well and we never had a problem getting the time and restaurant we wanted. We got married whilst we were there and if anyone is wondering about the location for a wedding, you will not be disappointed. It was stunning! Said our vows on the beach with the sand between our toes (or in my daughter’s shoes!) then went to the garden for champagne and cake as it was much cooler. The hotel wedding coordinator, Lisa, done an amazing job and seemed to know exactly what we were after and organised everything brilliantly! It made our day very special indeed. On the wedding day Lisa had help from Rayan who kept us feed and watered throughout the afternoon and pretty much the whole holiday always smiling and helpful. All the staff from the moment we arrived to the moment we left was extremely helpful and courteous. We felt there were enough sun beds for everyone as any more would mean falling over them and we never struggled to get one or in fact 3 next to each other despite the early risers marking their territory! All though some of them could do with being replaced as they have seen better days. The hotels Kids club is amazing! Our daughter who is 5 years old absolutely loved it! We were a little apprehensive at first as she wouldn't know any of the other children and they cater for all ages in one place! But we were way off! All we got from her first attendance was ‘I want to go to kids club’ all the staff are brilliant, she loved the arts and craft elements and the movie night from 7 to 9pm was all she wanted to do every night! This meant we got to have a nice relaxing evening meal as well! And it made our daughters holiday more fun overall as she had some friends to play with by the pools. All in all a 5 star review for a 5 star hotel! We will be back!!!
Really lovely hotel set right on the beach on the West Coast of Barbados. We were greeted and looked after by friendly staff who were always willing to help and make sure our stay lived up to our expectations. The layout of the hotel was good and while you have an option of rooms looking over well kept gardens it is worth paying extra for an ocean view. The majority of water sports were part of the all inclusive package but if you want to try the jet ski's you need to pay for the experience. The quality of the food was very high, especially for an all inclusive, and the choice of two restaurants provided ample dining space although some of the seating in the Reflections Restaurant was a little cosy at times. The bedroom we had was good but the bathroom could do with an update. While the beds were spacious in width tall people might find they could do with something a little longer. We only had a couple of small gripes and these were regarding the availability and number of sun beds around the three pools. Unfortunately the holiday tradition of getting up early and reserving the beds before the breakfast has even reached the Carribean. Consideration could also be given to making one of the pools adult only. Despite the pool experience being a little frustrating at times there are plenty of options on the beach if you don't mind the sand! Overall we had a good and relaxing break, not an ideal location if you are seeking nightlife, and we will definitely consider going back again.
