Fairmont Royal Pavilion

Everything about the Fairmont is welcoming. The rooms are all beach side, generously proportioned and well equipped. The bar and restaurant area are perhaps a little dated and ready for some refurbishment as is the Beach Club. However none of this detracted from a lovely stay. The staff were brilliant with a particular mention to Ryan on the beach and Simon around the pool. All the pool and beach staff were pleasant and the room staff efficient and inconspicuous. We would definitely return.
This hotel is tucked away in a little jungle like setting. So peaceful and quiet...you can actually see little monkeys on the property jumping tree to tree. The staff on this property is just absolutely AMAZING. Patricia is beyond accommodating. She truly took the extra step to make sure we had an exquisite experience. We have never experienced such genuine hospitality in any hotel. This is the only place we will stay when returning to Barbados
We have just returned from a 2 week stay at the wonderful Fairmont Royal Pavilion, myself, my husband and our 10 year old son. We were allocated a room on the 3rd (top floor), every single room overlooks the sea with the best view of the sunset. Spacious considering there were 3 of us, however the ground floor junior suites would be more suitable if you prefer a little more space. From the moment you arrive the staff were wonderful, it doesn't take too long to get into the Bajan way of life, nothing happens quickly on this island (apart from the yellow reggae buses that fly around the roads)! The Tuesday evening cocktail reception is lovely and a great way to meet other guests if you so wish but a quiet dinner in Taboras or the Palm (only open twice a week) is special too.We took advantage of the water sports available from the Beach Club where Ryan and Mario look after you. Great for the kids who want to learn how to paddle board, sail the Hobie or simply swim with the turtles, fun and friendly staff. We did feel the hotel is a little tired and understand the rooms will be updated this Summer, however we would certainly like to see the bar area updated too, this would encourage a more social atmosphere around the sunset hours.Overall a perfect hotel in the best location for a relaxing, unpretentious holiday. We will definitely recommend it to many and hope to visit again very soon too.
We went to the Fairmont Royal Pavilion for a family holiday with our eleven-year-old son and we had a fantastic time. We loved everything about this hotel, it’s special and I say this having stayed at some of the world’s top hotels. Don’t get me wrong the Royal Pavilion isn't the glitziest or most impressive looking hotels but that is more than made up in other areas and it oozes Caribbean charm. We fell in love with Barbados years ago and have been on quite a few occasions but this is the first time at the Royal Pavilion and it has helped us fall in love with even more. The location is second to none, along one of the best beaches, it's a short walk along the beach to Lone Star restaurant and at low tide a medium walk to Holetown (Tides restaurant is great). We initially booked a standard room (all rooms have beach views) sharing with our son which felt a bit cramped so we upgraded to a Junior Suite and this was perfect and well worth the extra expense (all the butlers were lovely). Although the rooms are good all the hotel interiors are being upgraded this summer so it should be spectacular. All the facilities are very good, including the beach club which was great, the free activities were great fun (we even managed to get my wife paddle boarding which trust me is no mean feat). But forget about the location, food and facilities which are all good, the stand out part of the hotel is the staff, who from top to bottom are brilliantly friendly and obviously care greatly that you have a fabulous and relaxed time. Every single one was exceptional - from reception, gardening, bar, towel crew, restaurants (Shontell was our favourite), butlers, pool, beach (Ryan stood out), all of them really helped make this a holiday to cherish. Don’t get me wrong it wasn’t perfect as a couple of small things did go wrong – a couple of room service orders and one dish that were disappointing but it was dealt with brilliantly and highlighted how much the staff cared. If there is a negative it would be the lack of a spa on site. This is a small hotel (75 rooms) and you get that personal service from everyone. The food is good at the restaurants and because the hotel is where it is there are countless great places to eat nearby if you want more variety. In fact, what stood out across the island was the genuine wish by all the locals we met everywhere was that you have a good time whether it was hotel staff, restaurant waiters, guys selling aloe, jet skiing or beads. As a family, we had one of the best, most relaxed holidays ever we will be going back to the Royal Pavilion
West coast Barbados. Need I say more. Yes this restaurant is expensive but reassuringly so. Sometimes you should treat yourself to the best and you will not be disappointed here. The hotel offers spectacular views with friendly staff and good amenities. The room service is efficient and the breakfast on point. It's also in a convenient location so should you want to venture out the lovely restaurants f hometown are not to far away. Enjoy. X
