I had a wonderful time here during my honeymoon. The staff was always friendly and we were treated very well. I never thought I was a bother to anyone as some other reviews have stated. Being a Hilton Diamond member I was happy to see that the complimentary breakfast was more than what I am accustomed too. Excellent choices. The only reason that this is a 4/5 is that some of the staff didn't seem very knowledgeable. I wanted to have breakfast at the George Washington House and was told it was open. We walked there (only a mile) but it was not open. Which meant I had to come back and eat at the hotel restaurant (which was good, but took too long for breakfast to come out). On the second to last day of my stay we ordered in room dining at 11AM and we ordered a pepperoni pizza. They said it would take 35 minutes. It took 40 minutes and was not correct (missing pepperoni). I asked for it to be sent back and a new pizza came back within 10 minutes. It looked sloppily put together and we were in a rush to go on the tour. It was not the experience I was looking for. The bar by the beach is great, but is in need of a deep cleaning. There were fruit flies everywhere and it took away from the experience. Overall I would stay here again and would encourage everyone to do the same. Christa at the Front Desk is great and Debra the concierge did well to help us plan. Anthony also was delightful. The hotel did lose water pressure one day (something happening on the island and by no means was the hotels fault). We were promptly informed and I msut admit I never noticed it. The room could use some maintenance (we are missing a picture but the screws are still in the wall).
We just returned from an excellent visit to this wonderful hotel. Management is amazing, we had to make several changes to our travel plans and the hotel accommodated us with each request. While at the hotel we had a small issue with a bill and it was immediately taken care of without incident. Hotel is clean and well run; our executive room was amazing with breakfast, Wi-Fi and local calls included plus daily newspaper. House keeping services are excellent. There is also afternoon tea, which the English visitors particularly enjoyed. Also light snacks and drinks in the evening for people staying in the executive rooms. Beaches and pools are great, pools are super clean. (several persons on the beach selling items/services can become a little annoying at times, however, this is outside the control of the hotel as all beaches in Barbados are public. The beach sellers will leave upon request.) George Washington House is nearby & is a great site to visit. - Bridgetown is also nearby. Several good restaurants also nearby. Thank you and well done Hilton Barbados for a wonderful stay; hope to see you all again soon.
We arrived on Saturday, October 22, 2016. The check-in process was very slow even though it was not crowded. The food and drinks were expensive with happy hour lasting for only an hour. There should be complimentary ice water available in the lobby area. Most of the staff was friendly. Shout out to Natasha at the front desk, Marcia at the pool, and Fredrick, one of the Bell Men.
We traveled as a family with a young infant early October 2016. It's a great hotel for the price with a great beach and nice pools. Not much to do around the hotel unless you get a taxi. Avoid the breakfast buffet, their a la carte option are far more reasonable price wise and the food is made fresh for you (it's not something they offer unless you ask). We were upgraded upon check in which was nice. Free WIFI if you are a Hilton member so I recommend you join. The food at the restaurant was ok, not bad, not great EXCEPT for the Grill that recently reopened that was fantastic. They also had a live performance with a lady that had a beautiful voice. I would recommend this hotel, the staff is friendly, the pool is nice and the beach is wonderful!
I doubt anyone would be disappointed with this hotel. The staff, rooms and pools are all great. The food is top quality and there isn't anything at all to complain about. Having said that, for smokers, it can be a little disappointing as there are no areas accommodating us smokers. Yes, you can smoke on the beach, or across the street from the hotel which isn't very practical. I would love to see an area near the pool for those who smoke, instead of having to get up and walk to the beach for a smoke. I still would rate this hotel as a ten and we are loving every minute of our stay.
