This hotel has a phenomenal location, you're steps from Carlisle Bay where you can swim with sea turtles, snorkel around ship wrecks and the water is the bluest of any on the island. You're also super close to Bridgetown, St. Lawrence's Gap, and Oistins. It's truly the best location. The beach at the property is BEAUTIFUL. The staff is SO kind and went out of their way to ensure that we were having a great time and provided tons of help when asking for recommendations on things to do or places to go. They helped arrange a lot of outside activities such as tours and taxis and they were always smiling and saying "hello" whenever you passed. The food was AMAZING. It was limited at times but the International Buffet and the Beach Party BBQ was SO GOOD. I am back at my desk just day dreaming about the macaroni pie and fish cakes. The room and property was always clean, and I have zero complaints about any part of this stay. If you're reading this because you're not sure you want to book -- stop and go book this hotel. You won't regret it!
Stayed for two weeks. Location on the south shore is good but be aware that not all those using the facilities are staying at the hotel. The good restaurant, the Grille, was closed. Not many dining options and too many buffets for my taste.
Hilton staff members are incredibly courtesous and helpful. We had a wonderful time and the property was perfect for what we wanted to do. Drill Hole Beach which is next to the hotel was almost like a private island onto itself. The food was great and the rooms were clean. The pools were fun and views were incredible. The property layout is awesome at this location and rivals, I think, many of the boutique hotels in the area. Additionally, the lobby was inviting ... so cool to see two bodies of water on each side of the lobby with an open air feel. I truly recommend this hotel for your travel destination.
Stayed at the Hilton for 10 nights in an executive room. On check in we were advised the exec lounge was closed for the whole of July. Not the kind of info to provide at check in!Room was very comfortable, spacious and well appointed we opted for bay view which was gorgeous, some lovely sunsets. The hotel setting is gorgeous, the beaches were great and we combined beach and pool most days given their close proximity. (beach beds are more comfortable) Amazingly the sand doesn't get hot, usually we are pool people, but the sea and beach are so lovely we spent more time there. Continental breakfast was included as part of our exec booking and because of lounge closure we were given vouchers. Its ample with plenty of choice and includes a couple of hot items. A couple of days we had full breakfast but I personally didn't think it was worth it unless you want an omelette. We also had vouchers for drinks and hors d'oeuvres but very limited offering so we used mainly for soft drinks and only ate occasionally. We ate in hotel restaurant a couple of times, food OK, but service slow if busy. As you might expect incidentals are pricey, eg. diet coke BD10=£3.50+. Not sure why but bar and 'high end' restaurant were closed during stay and the main restaurant wasn't open every night. It is a nice hotel, but having stayed at other 5*s it's not the best and building is pretty ugly. The main issue they have is inconsistency; so some days we got toiletries and towels replenished, some we didn't. Some staff are very helpful and welcome some aren't.There were works on-going to rooms but this didn't really disturb until last morning when there was drilling in adjacent bedroom. Our stay was a mix of holiday and visiting family, we had a great time and Barbados is lovely with lots to see and do. Would recommend Hilton with some minor reservations.
This is the second time we stayed at this Hilton. The last time was 3 years ago. Also for my birthday. We enjoyed our stay so much that we decided to stay here again. The beaches are beautiful! The pools are enjoyable. The rooms have recently been upgraded and are nice and clean. The entire staff are extremely pleasant. Breakfast is always good. The hotel went above and beyond. My husband was in contact with them prior to our arrival and ordered a special cake and flowers for my birthday. He had no idea what they were going to do. When we returned from dinner I entered our room and found the room decorated with rose petals and a beautiful cake. Kudos to the staff at the Hilton!!
