Absolutely beautiful! The staff any where I came into contact with them were the utmost professional and always greeted us with a "good morning, or evening, or how are you today?" They opened doors constantly, I felt like I was a celebrity and given the royal treatment. The room was sparkling clean. Not one piece of sand on the floor, not a hair in the bathroom. GO! NOT ONE COMPLAINT.
Not the best Hilton I’ve stayed at from a luxury perspective, however nice staff and plenty of space on beach and around pool which compensated. If I had to make a negative comment, I’d probably mention the ‘need of an update’. On the beach... If you’re into snorkelling please note the Hilton beach is not ideal as surf is up most of the time, but pebble beach very nearby is much calmer. Only snag is, Hilton’s beach service doesn’t stretch to pebble beach (a minor point but worth noting if the full family aren’t snorkelling together and someone is looking for a bed/seat). However it’s not all bad, as the waves on the Hilton beach are great fun and it is exceptionally clean. Beach beds are a little tired, but service is good.Executive lounge was average with a little surprise having to pay for alcoholic beverages (albeit a nominal charge); that’s a first for me at Hilton and I’ve stayed at many.To conclude... All in all we have enjoyed the stay. No disasters and I must mention again the friendly atmosphere.
We had a great room and the view was fantastic. The pools were great as well as the beaches. Spent allot of time at the pool bar. Not much night life going on here but my wife and I were ok with that. Paulette in concierge was great and set up all my restaurants for me. Every one she selected was great. The travel folks were great too and gave us some good day trip recommendations.
The hotel is well placed on the beach and a thirty minute? drive from the airport. Our hotel room was clean and bright with a view of the sea. The beds were comfortable and the pillows even more so. We did not experience any noise from outside the room so all was very peaceful. There is a bit of a strange arrangement with the bathroom whereby you can slide open a wooden panel so it opens out on to the room. Not sure what the reasoning is behind that. The staff we met were fantastic. The ladies on reception who gave us a warm welcome. Special thanks to Phillip Bostic especially. So helpful and always greeted us by name. A man with a fine memory! Phillip also arranged an excellent taxi driver for my husband, I do hope we get the opportunity to use the excellent Bellgrave again. The room cleaning staff always made sure we had everything we needed. Always a cheerful good morning and so friendly. The food is good which is just as well as you are limited should you wish to eat outside the hotel as there are few places within walking distance. We stayed in an Executive Room which gave us access to the Lounge. I wasn't expecting much for breakfast as it states 'continental' but we were pleasantly surprised. There is hot food as well as cold such as cheese, ham etc. There are also pastries and fruit. Of the hot food I can thoroughly recommend the corn beef hash. During the day tea, coffee cold drinks and various choices of cake are available. Not enough if you want a full meal but it suited my husband and I very well. We did not take the opportunity to try all the Hors D'oeuvres in the evening but once tried the cold selection prior to the hot coming out and they were excellent. We ate in the Lighthouse Terrace on a couple of occasions and again the staff were superb. We had room service and the menu was fairly good but perhaps a little limited. The food was always good though and I recommend the chocolate torte amongst other things. We tried the three fish dinner but that was very disappointing but the only meal we were unhappy with.
Since our last visit in January 2017 we feel a few things have slipped at this hotel. They are making a few savings. Every year we have enjoyed the managers cocktail party and this is no longer happening. Such a shame, it was nice to speak to staff in this casual setting. A few things are now not available on breakfast, not such a great selection. When we arrived we were not offered the inclusive breakfast offer, although I did ask. It wasn't until we went down to breakfast on the first morning that we were told about it. The food and drinks are very expensive. Buy your spirit on the plane and buy the mixers in the small shop. Ice on every floor. Also a small selection of drinks are half price at happy hour 17.00 - 18.00 hrs. No nibbles given out anymore. This said the pluses are : The bedrooms have been renovated and are now lovely. The staff are a credit to this hotel, polite and friendly. Everyone acknowledges you.We ate out most evenings but went to the pasta evening which was excellent. The hotel is situated between two oceans, all rooms are sea facing. Plenty of sunbeds round the pool and on the beach. You will always find one.20 min walk along the beach to Bridgetown. We did find there were a couple of children's parties whilst we stayed. Rather a lot of screaming children running around but I suppose this is something that cant be helped.
