Location: West Coast, 20 minutes from Bridgetown, 45-minute drive from Grantley, Adams International Airport and located directly on the beach.

No Water & Broken Promises

My husband and I stayed at Mango Bay in Holetown, Barbados for a portion of our honeymoon from June 27th to June 30. Around 12 noon on the 29th we got back from a fishing trip and realized that there was no running water in our room. We inquired at the front desk and they told us the water would be back on by 5pm at the latest. They provided us with another room that had running water in to shower. They promptly called the room to kick us out right after we both had showered. After dinner around 9pm the water still wasn't on in our room. We asked at the front desk when the water would be back on and the desk said 9:30pm. We asked if we could be moved to a room that did have working water and they said no. About half of the hotel had running water and half didn't. We asked for bottles of water to brush our teeth with at the front desk and the night manager assured us that water bottles would be brought right up to our room... they were never delivered to us. At 9:40pm when we last checked the water was still off in our room. I had to dress and go down to the hotel bar to get cups of water to brush our teeth with that evening because the water never came on AND our bottled water wasn't delivered. We were very displeased with the level of service and communication regarding the water issue.We spoke with the manager Joanne when we checked out and she told us that the hotel would refund us one night of our stay. We agreed that that was very fair due to our experience with no water in our room for a day. Joanne asked us to contact our booking site to process the refund. We were in immediate communication with our booking site and at two separate times the booking site called the hotel and asked to speak with Joanne regarding a refund and both times she was unavailable. It became clear after hours on the phone with our booking site trying to get a hold of management at Mango Bay that they were dodging the call. On the third attempt they finally let us know that they had to "look into the refund" even though it was promised to us at check out. It has been a month and we never heard anything else from Mango Bay. A very shady business practice, and we won't be back.

Little Gem

Stayed here for a week, was greeted on arrival and taken to our room, the room was adequate as spend most the time round the pool or beach.Food, sit down menu service everyday except when BBQ night was great and the choice was amazing it never disappointed.Definitely recommend this hotel

Beautiful small hotel with exceptional staff

I can't praise this hotel enough. We stayed in a deluxe room with a balcony overlooking the pool and it was large and really nice. The staff at Mango Bay can't do enough for you and every member of staff I came across was genuinely interested in making your holiday great. The manager was always about, checking with people that they were happy with their holiday. The food was much more interesting than usual all-inclusives and the dining area is beautiful. Mango Bay is right on the beach and it was brilliant to have free watersports. I celebrated my birthday while I was there and I was so impressed with the special service and extras I received on that day. In summary, I would highly recommend Mango Bay to anyone looking for a classy and relaxing holiday.

Birthday surprise for my wife

I would like to says a large thank you to all the staff for welcoming us back for the 3rd time to the hotel and the bottle of wine and card in our room it was really nice, also I would like to say big thank you to Peter g the restaurant team for making my wife's birthday really special with everything that you did because she didn't suspect a thing which was what I wanted, plus we would also like to thank management for inviting us both to the races for the afternoon it was an awesome day and an experience that we can never forget ,I would also like to say thank you to Sherry in the restaurant for encouraging my husband to try new food which he did I am so proud of him for it,we would also like to thank Veronica and Pat the cleaning staff for looking afer our room and decorating on my wife's birthday it was really nice of them , what else is there to say about the hotel and all the staff is there isn't any more words because it's just a fabulous, lovely,homley caring hotel and we will hopefully be back soon x

A little Barbados Gem

I’ve recently returned from my stay at Mango Bay, upon our arrival on 25th June we were greeted by the lovely Hermione, so welcoming and friendly. We were swiftly bought two cold towels and two very rummy rum punches, delightful. Throughout our stay I can simply say the staff were just exceptional, nothing was very too much trouble a few names that we dealt with Hermione, Omar, Peter and Tanya aka ‘Angel’ or so she kept telling us..Teehee. They are all a real asset to the resort and made our stay one to remember.We enjoyed the catamaran trip despite the rain on the journey back and the fact it was include, got a big thumbs up! My only feedback point would be the food, for me this wasn’t too much of an issue (I’m not a fussy eater), but my partner did struggle at times to select something that met his requirements – Breakfast was always the best meal of the day and the poached eggs were always perfection. Having spoken to other resorts guests should we have mentioned to the staff his fussiness, they advised they had been accommodated with an alternative by the chef, so this is all good to consider next time.The evening entertainment was another high point, for such a small hotel the entertainment hit the note every evening – Great! I’d also like to mentioned Joanne one of the resort managers, her presents every day was so unexpected and something I’ve not experienced at other hotels. Every day she checked in with all guests, making sure we were happy and enjoying our stay. One of the days, there was an issue with the water in the hotel and again communication from Joanne was great, informative and caring – these things happen and it can’t be helped, its didn’t stop us enjoying ourselves. Thanks for the bottle of bubbles by way of apology, nice touch!Overall a very enjoyable stay, I’ll be sure to speak highly and recommend Mango Bay to family, friends and work colleagues.Well done Mango Bay – Top Hotel!
