Awesome breakfast

We went for the Sunday Gospel breakfast and the whole experience was brilliant. The views are amazing from the L'azure restaurant. Varied buffet, but the lack of poached or fried eggs was the only slight disappointment. However this was offset by smoked fish and traditional Bajan and Caribbean items. Service was very good.

Three star claiming to be 5

We are an interval owner so it is with heavy heart we write this revue.In all our visits to the Crane we hope each time that they have managed to bring the resort up to the standard they aspire. Sadly they have never managed to do so and this visit was no exception.We stayed in a garden two bed park house,On arrival we noted that whilst the unit was clean and tidy.In the lounge one standard lamp had a blown bulb.In the garden of four lights only one worked.The master bathroom lights fused on the first evening.They were fixed the following morning but blew again that night so for two nights we were not able to use the master bathroom.The lights were fixed the following morning but the fan had ceased to work in the toilet cubicle and was still not fixed when we left.The outside table in the gazebo had a melted part where something hot had been placed on it.The two chairs outside the bedroom on the patio had splits in the cushions.The sliding patio louvres had a catch which could be dislodged and opened by bouncing the door against it. It is not sufficiently secure for a ground floor unit.There was no can opener in the kitchen.The hairdryer in the master bathroom was fixed above one of the basins, contrary to what was printed on the casing.The air conditioning units in the bedrooms were too noisy to be used at night. They sounded as if the fan/impeller required replacing. Fortunately we did not require them.The maid removed face flannels but did not replace them until two days later.We had Bajan fishcakes in the bar one evening and the batter on them was so tough it was more like leather. It also took more than 30 minutes for our order to arrive.We had lunch at the carriage house but there were no split peas available to have with a roti.To cap it all we were told there was a charge for electricity used of $bd300. We had only used the aircon in one room for about 6 hours in total and it was set at 25c. Reception did however remove the charge without question.The Crane requires a change in culture to one where rooms are fully checked before guests arrive and food outlets and the staff involved understand that the resort is being marketed as a 5 star one. Sadly it currently only provides a 3 star experience.Yes, the situation and ambience is great but it is ruined by a lack of polished quality and service.Finally, arriving guests should be shown the meter readings on the aircon so that they can check that no mistake has been made when they depart.

I love the people of Barbados!

It is the Bajan staff at The Crane that really make our annual 4 week stay something special.The Crane Resort sits above one of the best beaches in the world. My wife and I have an apartment which overlooks the Atlantic Ocean a mere 25 metres from our patio. We are so, so lucky. There are five excellent restaurants, a coffee/ice cream shop and a bar where my wife and I spend many Happy Hours meeting old and new friends and drinking the odd rum punch or two, served by wonderful bar staff particularly Patrinna with her lovely smile.From the moment we arrive, Bernice, at reception and the Bell Boy, Jeffrey, greet us like long lost friends.There is a new CEO, David Glass, who will turn what I consider the best resort in the world, into heaven on earth.How could I finish without a great big thank you to Sean, Dennis, Troy, Lisle, Elizabeth and last but not least Diahanna, all of whom have made my wife, Carol and I feel so special.

Heaven, I'm in Heaven!!

We weren't residents here but I wish we were. We stumbled on it more by luck then anything else. Amazing restaurants, gorgeous beach, quant shops. We tried 3 of the restaurants and none of them disappointed! The beach is easily reached by an elevator and you can hire umbrellas and sun beds from the guys down there. There is also a guy selling tropical drinks in coconuts which were vey nice, if a little pricey at $10US each. We were even approached and offered "the best quality ganja" to which we politely declined lol.

Back again, Just love this place.

I now consider myself a regular at 4 visits in 4 years. The Crane and it's super attentive staff are here to look after their guests. The culture at this resort is to make your vacation stay a memorable one.The Crane beach is in the best shape we have experienced in 4 years. The beach was a daily event for us this year as the ocean swimming was just awesome. The water is warm and the sea was calm. Hard to get out of the water.The resort experience has been top notch from the grounds, to the restaurants, to the Gospel Sunday brunch, to the taxi drivers, to the pools and to the bar staff. The shine normally leaves a place after you become a regular and see its faults. The rooms have unbelievable ocean views and are large in size (very comfortable).Some people think it's too quiet but a holiday is supposed to allow you to rest.None faults here. Highly recommended. If you want the loud night life, it's a cab ride away. the Crane will not disappoint. Looking forward to coming back next year.
