Location: St. Lawrence Gap, 20-minute drive from Grantley Adams International Airport. Golf course nearby (20-minute drive), and beach nearby (5-minute drive).

In the heart of it

Lovely value for money hotel in the heart of St Lawrence Gap. As you would expect there was noise from the many music venues into the night but a small price to pay for some where located so conveniently. Unfortunately during our stay there were a number of British aircrew who were enjoying their down time within the hotel, including the pool throughout the night which didn't do much for a peaceful nights sleep. The hotel itself is comfortable and clean but could do with some updating. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. There is a good size pool with great views over the sea. The one major negative is there is no direct access to the beach. Although access is only a 10 minute walk away it would have been good to have known this before we booked. I read comments such as "only 100 feet from the sea" well it is but you can't get in it from the hotel.

The Dover beach hotel was in s great location near the beach. The hotel is going through a bit of a referb as it is looking tiered. The room we had was very nice with a lounge and a small kitchen and a bedroom the bathroom had a shower which the water trickled out had to mention it a few times then they fixed it. The restaurant at the hotel was not very good the same every day and some days didn't have what was on the menu. The staff were very good and helpful there are better hotels but at a much higher price would stay there again.

Great hotel in a great location

My girlfriend and I stayed here in November 2016.The hotel is right slap bang in the middle of St Lawrence Gap on the main strip but don't let that put you off as its actually quite quiet. There is a karaoke bar opposite the hotel which is open until the early hours, we did not hear anything because we booked the superior suite which is basically a ground floor apartment with a terrace overlooking the sea and the pool, these rooms are at the back of the hotel, i would imagine that the rooms on the front of the hotel you might hear the karaoke bar but i cannot confirm this at all.Our room was basic but perfectly acceptable and had aircon which was a god send, we had a kitchen with a fridge freezer and a hob and microwave. A free iron and ironing board is provided with a double built in wardrobe with plenty of good quality coat hangers. Bathroom had a powerful shower with hot and cold water, a good wall mounted hairdryer so there's no need to bring your own, NOTE : The voltage is slightly less that the UK so the hairdryer and straighteners we bought with us would not work correctly, its something you may want to bear in mind.The best thing about the room is the view, open up the terrace doors and there is the sea a few metres away and the pool and sunbeds within touching distance.Towels and the room safe key are available from reception for a refundable deposit. Hotel staff were great, very friendly and helpful.The hotel bar serves food which is very tasty but i would say it is snacks rather that a dinner menu.Alcohol drinks are same price as all the other bars in town and they have 2 happy hours (2 for 1) from 12pm-1pm and 5pm-6pm, bar opens early until late and is not noisy if you want to go to bed early.It is a poolside bar and well worth using, we had a couple of relaxing evenings there after long days at the beach.If you need a late check out you can only request this on the day of check out, we couldn't have this as our room was not available but there is a free guest lounge with aircon, PC with internet and a printer if you need to print boarding passes etc. It also has TV and comfortable seating as sofas and also a shower, hairdryer etc which we used, its basic but very useful.We would definitely stay here again but only in the Superior ground floor apartment, there is no lift so if you struggle with stairs you should bear this in mind, the ground floor Superior apartment there are approx 15 steps down from reception to the ground floor, every room in the hotel requires stairs to to used.

Noisy and old!

We booked this hotel because we had seen pictures of the sea view on the website and it looked really nice.besides the sea view and the staff it had nothing else going for it! We only booked one night as our return flight from the Caribbean was leaving from barbados and to be honest one night was more than enough! we arrived in the evening and the area around the hotel was packed with ppl and loud music.we were shown to our room and there was a horrible smell coming from the bathroom and the room looked old and tired! The sound of the music was so loud we actually felt as though it was outside our was very difficult to sleep and it went on until the early hours! Wouldn't recommend staying here especially with kids as its too noisy and the rooms need updating!

we were a group of 8 in 4 rooms and we all had an amazing experience at south gap, Annalee on desk was a kind knowledgeable young lady, Lana was our room attendant and she did over and above any expectations. the other staff also were so hardworking and kind, it was like a family away from home lets not forget Stanley and shane on bar, they were like magicians with the fancy drinks... we were told the resort will be closing for renovations over the summer... but we found it perfect just the way it was...... cannot wait until we can return to south gap.....
