We have just returned from the Tamarind and could not really fault the property. As with other reviews as soon as you arrive we instantly relaxed and we're stunned by the natural beauty of the resort the website pictures do not do justice to the hotel. The property is right on a beautiful beach, there are plenty of wonderful spots to relax in with three pools, the ambience is relaxed but with exceptional five star service the staff really seem to care and achieve that perfect balance between being attentive and friendly but not over bearing. My wife and I stayed on a bed and breakfast basis but had some lunches the food quality was superb, we booked an ocean view room and were given a junior suite which was very comfortable and so close to the ocean that we left the windows open at night and went to sleep with the sound of the waves which was wonderful. The only disappointment was we could not get the water taxi to the other properties as the ocean was too rough during our stay obviously that is not a fault of the hotel .We have worked in the hotel industry and travelled extensively and would say this is one of the most special hotels we have stayed in and it certainly beats the other properties we saw on the island,we fully recommend the Tamarind to future visitors.
stayed here in nov with my hubby so peaceful never felt so relaxed all staff are excellent nothing is a problem we had a spacious suite which was kept immaculate by housekeeping breakfast was great. the hotel is set on a beach which is gorgeous white sand have a trip to carlise bay to see the turtles and the shipwreck its fab
The best birthday surprise ever, a trip to Barbados! What made our trip even better was our stay at the Tamarind. The staff is so welcoming, friendly and helpful any time of day or night. Our room was lovely with a beautiful view over both pool and beach. The breakfasts were delicious and evening meals superb. We were lucky enough to be in Barbados during their 50th independence celebration and got to taste a fantastic culinary buffet! We used to take the beach taxi to the Colony club after breakfast and walk back on the beach, with a few swims on the way. What a great start to the day.We also hired a car and drove around this beautiful island. Don't worry too much about the lack of road signs, just keep an eye on the bus stop signs; into city or out of city 🙂A special thank you to Wayne, Mark & Joseph in the bar for sharing the recipe for a good rum punch. It went down a treat on New Year's Eve!Can't wait til next time!Bernard & Rosita Kitching xxx
This a beautiful hotel, the food is excellent and the staff so friendly. I realise that more families go to the Tamarind now and this can be a bit distracting I do not have any trouble with being around children but this used to be a very sophisticated hotel. The blue sea, sky and white sand are great but actually walking on the beach can be hazardous as the sand is on a slope and falls away especially in the Sandy Lane area. Touring around shows just how beautiful the island is. We went with Sterling Worrall in his very comfortable car and his knowledge of many places is considerable, Orchids and The Flower Garden are something not to miss. What a pity it is so far away.
We have been fortunate enough to have over 20 holidays in Barbados but this was the first time that we have returned to the same hotel, and the best testimony is that we have booked to return a 3rd time to Tamarind in February 2017 for my 50th birthday.Rather than review the hotel in detail (again) I wanted to mention the water sports team in particular. Led by Papiou, they operate a booking policy up to 24 hours in advance of your desired complimentary activity. Anything speedboat related (water ski, banana boat, rings) gets booked up very quickly but the team make every effort to create slots for you if you have not been able to book a slot. There are also plenty of snorkels, Hobie cats, canoes and paddle boards which are also complimentary.Highlights? - TC (which he will tell you stands for take care) getting both of my daughters up and riding on water skis after only 3 attempts, and flying fish jumping into us on a banana boat ride (see photos)
