This lovely typical Caribbean hotel is not too big, but with plenty of facilities. Nice rooms that are kept clean and well provisioned by the staff. The bars and restaurants provide good food and drinks at reasonable prices. Sun beds are good quality and plenty of choice for either the beach or poolside. What made this hotel really good were the staff, from the management to the cleaning staff, all were courteous and out to make your stay as pleasant as can be. This hotel is also in an excellent location for getting into Holetown or further afield as it is on the local and frequent bus routes. The reception staff provide a good information service as well as get you a taxi should you need one. Overall a very pleasant stay.
I had an organized meet & greet waiting for me upon arriving in Barbados and the young woman who was there was extremely well presented (This service can be facilitated by the property). I was speedily help through the immigration process and then directed to my transfer which again was organised by the property.Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by the friendly staff, (look out for Melissa, she's a fantastic girl!). I was offered a welcome drink and was then greeted by both the Human Resource Manager Naomi and Front Office Manager Neil, which definitely was quite an honor to meet on arrival. I was then assisted to my room by a bell hop (very courteous young man.) Can't remember your name buddy, sorry. Upon entry into my room I was wow'd from the get go. (Pics can be seen as attached).Upon settling in, I made my way to the restaurant for lunch. Food was great! Restaurant staff were warm (some may not have been engaging at first, but after the first few nights, they were great.) There are two areas to dine from at the property, 246 Restaurant and Bar and The Lounge. Both places had fantastic cuisine. If there is one thing I must say, is that food and drinks WERE CONSISTENT throughout my stay!!! Be sure to ask for a tropical passion (GREAT DRINK - Non Alcoholic). Loved every second of it. My only critic is that breakfast provisions should be made for persons who don't eat toast because the sliced bread tends to get hard when left in the open. Perfect apart from. I don't eat eggs because I just can't stomach the smell of it, so there was a lady at the buffet who whipped up something special!! Folks add bajan seasoning to omelettes!!!! I couldn't smell the egg nor taste it so I ate egg. Really great stuff. The business center sits 4 computers for personal use and printing of small documents, boarding passes etc are all complimentary. There are also 3 pools on property of which only 1 is an adult only pool. The resort is kid friendly with a kids club, conference room, there's also gym facilities too. Housekeeping was also fantastic on evenings for turn down. Making sure towels were always clean. AWESOME WORK LADIES! I almost forgot, folks it is a beachfront property. Big PLUS!!! AND WATER SPORTS IS COMPLETELY COMPLIMENTARY. IT DOESN'T GET BETTER THAN THAT! There is again complimentary water taxi between three other sister hotels that are neighboring which are (The House, Waves Hotel and Spa, and Colony).Saying goodbye was sure difficult as it was at that point I was really getting use to the staff.P.s - Be sure when travelling around Barbados you look out for the yellow buses AKA The Reggae Buses!!! I Love It. Music all the way. And you really get an authentic Bajan experience. In all, it was a great stay. Highly recommended.
We never make comments on a trip but this time is an exception. We had such a great time at the Tamarind. The staff was outstanding. À big thank to all the employees but we want to thank specifically a few of them. Thank you to Ether the dancing cook for the lovely coconut muffins. Thank you to Nadia for being the best waitress. Thank you to Deion at the bar who made us taste a fantastic Barbados lemonade. Thank you to Tito for the great rhum punch. Thank you to TC ( Take care ) for wonderful tube rides. Thank you to Steve for keeping discipline in the water sports. Thank you to Patrick, like the rhum, it only get smoother. Thank you to Arden, the grand-father who looks like a thirty something for teaching us all about rhum. Thank you to Antonia, for the fantastic pudding and souse. You went out of your way. And finally but the not the least, Paul who gave us outstanding tours with rhum punches at 10h30 in the morning. It s not à farewell, it is an au-revoir.The crazy french canadians
We have just got back from two weeks at the Tamarind. We had ocean front room 329 which was kept spotless by the lovely cleaners. The beach and the views are beautiful and there is plenty of water sports. I have never stayed anywhere where the staff have been so friendly, special mention to Ether and her famous corned beef hash which she gave me the recipe for, I will be trying to recreate that now I'm home. Also the guys behind the bars, Tito, Mark and Troy. Paul who put on some amazing trips with a lot of rum punch. So many more people to thank but i don't know all their names. When we go back to Barbados we will definitely stay at the Tamarind.
We spent 10 days here; our first trip to the Caribbean. I think we were expecting a lot, because Barbados is hyped up to be something amazing. Nice hotel, lovely staff, but it lacked the wow factor. Our room was fine, the pool good, although quite small, and the hotel is right on the white sands beach with the turquoise ocean. Lovely, but much of the rest of the island is just not like this. The breakfast at the hotel is very good and we have to mention Ether the cook who made us welcome. Paul on the staff was also excellent on the complimentary trips we took and generally being around. We ate dinner in the hotel a few evenings and this was good. Many local restaurants do not open Sunday, or Monday, so the hotel is often the easiest choice. If you are looking for a holiday just lazing in the sun, then this is probably fine, but if you want some culture and interesting things to see then maybe somewhere else.
