The room was very well-equipped and the staff also very welcoming. Smokers can stay in one of their rooms where smoking is allowed. Handy when its freezing out during the winter months. I would come back again.
I been for one night break from long journey on 1/Jan after 25 hours driving.I booked hotel for small dog, 4 yrs old son And 2 adults. When we arrived at hotel we been hold at reception for hour and staff with everything rang manager. After 1 hours they said that they accept dogs but only to 20 kg...Also deposit 200 euro.Ok we said we can give cash but in pounds , dont want a o lose money because of money converting.Than another 30 min waiting on corridor with my family. After long time waiting on reception they said that we can cancel booking!!! And was 11 .30 pm and we been with young child!!!!We left this super hotel, waste time and money ...Is not child friendly hotel and no pets friendlyDo not stay in this hotel!!!
A really nice hotel in a nice, quiet part of the city. Good access to trams and also not far from the Midi station. About ten euros by taxi. I had a room on the top floor with a terrace which was amazing. You could easily fit ten people on it! Beds are comfortable, bathrooms are really good, and the cleaning service is excellent. Breakfast is very good and caters for all. Cooked food is made to order. Cold food is available as a buffet. I did not have any evening meals at the hotel, so cannot comment. The staff are very friendly. A special mention goes to the young, blonde Spanish lady, who was extremely helpful on my first night. A highly recommended hotel. I will stay again.
This was not my first stay at the Hotel Catalonia in Brussels and it won't be my last. However, this time we ate our breakfast there. It isn't too far from Gare du Midi but you need local knowledge (metro line 2 or 6 to Louise, then tram 92 to Ma Campagne) brings you within 2 minutes walk of the hotel.Staff at reception are warm, welcoming and helpful and generally speak several languages. The reception area was clean and tidy and check-ins were carried out efficiently. My only bugbear with the arrival process is the tiny lifts - they will only take 2-3 people with luggage and only 3-4 without (unless you're all very friendly!) However the lifts are reasonably quick and you don't generally have to wait long as there are two of them. Our room on the sixth floor was a decent size, clean and well-equipped with mini-bar/fridge, kettle and tea/coffee making facilities included as we had a premier room. We had a nice view over the gardens at the back of the hotel, stunning in the autumnal colours. The bathroom held a 4 piece set, including bidet, and the shower head over the bath (reasonably powerful) ran from the main bath taps. The bathroom was spacious, clean and had a good range of complimentary provisions (toiletries and more.)Breakfast costs an extra €13 but is an ample buffet offering a cold, continental range of meat and cheese, bread to toast, pastries, fruit and cereal with juice, tea and coffee and there is also a chef who will rustle you up an omelette or bacon and eggs, freshly made to order. There was enough choice for everyone in our party to eat well. There are more eating places and bars (check out the hipster bar Chez Frank on the corner) in the local area and it is well served for public transport (which is a good system whereby a single journey means any number of transport changes/ validation a within a 60 minute period) so I would recommend this hotel for anyone taking a break in Brussels.
Excellent hotel, but ca 25 minutes walk from the nearest metro station. Decent neighborhood. Proper breakfast. Well equipped bathroom, incl. shampoo. Possibility to make tea in the room. The quality of free Wifi connection was excellent in the room. I suggest for business travelling.
