Hilton Brussels City
- What's Included
We booked this for a business/leisure trip this past week. I did my research on trip advisor and was worried about the quality of this Hilton. Glad I took the risk and stayed here anyway. The hotel itself is not in the city center but a 10-15 mins walk from Grand Place. The walk is safe and pleasant (and easy). You walk down a street of shops and turn left and there you are in the middle of the tourist location. Hotel itself is what you'd expect of a Hilton Garden Inn. Room we had facing the quad area just above the flags hanging from the building was spacious. It was surprising actually. On par with normal American size hotel rooms if not bigger. Bed situation: yes it's a mattress pad but underneath that and the bed skirt cover is another bed support system. Couldn't tell if it was Box springs or another mattress. It wasn't exactly a sealy or a plush bed like you'd get in American hotels, but it was comfortable. Breakfast: buffet style. 22 euros a day or free if you're at least Hilton gold status. Good combo of American and European breakfast items. They even have normal American crispy bacon. Omelette station available but mostly meat fillings. Breads selection was vast and delicious! They offer fresh fruit, cold cuts and cheeses as well as the scrambled eggs, sausage, pancakes and home fries. A cheese board with Brie and blue cheese of sorts is also offered.Parking: we used the public garage that is under the hotel. It was fine and clean. It just exits to a sketchy side of the city. Fitness: they have treadmills, elliptical and rowing machine as well as free weights to 10kg and a cable machine. The pull up bar is useless because it touches the ceiling so you can't exactly pull yourself up! They have a sauna. Nothing fancy and definitely low ceilings but it gets the workout done. Staff: very nice and helpful.Annoying things: we got a different room after checking out for weekend and back in on Monday. It was smaller but you still had a desk and space for two sitting chairs. The shower is still annoying because the faucet is in the middle of the tub and the shower head is at the end (dumb). But again, manageableOverall not so horrible. Easily found off the Nord station if you're coming fromThe airport (5 min walk) on public train. I felt safe and had fun. Could stay in center to be closer to the action but I liked the short walk to justify all the waffles I ate.
Room was spacious, internet is free when you are a HH member (be careful though otherwise it is expensive!), nice fitness room, cleaning and other services great, staff very friendly, breakfast very good, and as HH you are even invited to a cocktail. Everything you need for a relaxing business stay.
Coming from the United States, it always takes me a bit to adjust to European standards.... like different electrical adaptors and the size of hotel rooms. That said, the Hilton in City Center 2 was excellent. The bar and front desk area were always clean and the staff were very helpful. The rooms are small by American standards but spacious enough. They are also clean and comfortable. The gym was sufficient but the water cooler was always out. The breakfast was always excellent and well worth the $$. Overall, I'll stay again at this hotel and highly recommend it to anyone traveling in the area.
This is my preferred hotel in Brussels and ha e stayed here a lot. The hotel is modern and comfortable and what you would expect from Hilton. The bar and bar menu is nice. Breakfast is poor though with limited choice, which is why I have only given this average.
We spent our anniversary weekend in Brussels and were very pleased with our choice of hotel. The hotel is attractive and modern and the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. They had been tipped off (by our children) to the fact that it was our anniversary and gave us complimentary wine and fruit, which was greatly appreciated. Special thanks to Matthieu and Jeanne at the reception desk, who, along with everyone else, did everything to make our stay nice. Although this is a Hilton, a chain that we like, it is not a large convention-style hotel, so those looking for that should know that this hotel is on a more modest scale.
