This is five minutes walk from the Gare du Nord railway station but it's not a walk that you will feel too safe doing at night (just a perception, it might be very safe in reality but there are lot of young men hanging around everywhere along the route). Rooms are OK, bar service was pretty poor and expensive for an overcooked burger.
We arrived late in the evening and were welcomed by a friendly staff. Check in was fast and our room was clean and inviting. Went down and had a few beers in the bar. The prices were ok and the bartenders were nice and polite. Breakfast in the morning was more than adequate. Its a 10 -15 minutes walk to city center.
I joined my husband in Brussels where he was working, for a 4 night stay, my second time at this hotel, my husbands 5th. Unfortunately at the time of booking the only rooms available were triples, and we selected a room with a double and single bed. The room we were allocated (234) was a little shabby, peeling paint, damaged uncomfortable Settee, and the most uncomfortable double bed I have ever tried to sleep on. Bathroom was adequate with plenty of hot water and quite spacious. The wardrobe consisted of only hanging space with 6 hangers (hardly adequate for 2 adults for 4 nights - luckily I had packed some) and 2 shelves so high I could not use them, so nowhere for storage of folded clothes and underwear. We were only cleaned 3 out of the 4 days, despite being out of the room for much time between breakfast and 3 PM and actually telling the cleaner (who was next door) that we were leaving the room. When this was reported to reception, they inferred that this was our fault. We ate in the hotel on 2 occasions and the food was tasty, not a wide selection available, but quite good. Bar and restaurant staff are excellent.Breakfast was very busy for 3 of the 4 days making finding a table difficult, and some foods running out, however there was still plenty of choices available. This was definitely not as good a stay as my previous visit. Too many negatives unfortunately.
Good location in a quiet neighborhood. Nice place to relax after a busy day in the city.Big and clean Rooms. The hotel lobby has 4 lifts which means no lift queue. Excellent breakfast with a wide range of alternatives. The only thing I was missing was Fried eggs. The scrambled version was nothing to write home about. The small sausages however, was exquisite. There is a garden in the back of the hotel where you can enjoy breakfast, or a Night cap from the bar in the summer.Booking and getting a taxi was efficient and we hardly waited at all. Gare du Nord is within walking distance.
A convenient 5 min walk from the Brussels-North station, very friendly staff. Nice room with good Internet connectivity. I had a couple of beers and a club sandwich with a colleague next to the bar - reasonable price and with friendly staff. Some of the other items available looked good though - particularly the huge prawns!Breakfast room was rather cramped though - but with a good selection. You need to allow enough time though, as it can be very busy and the coffee machines are rather slow.
