Radisson Blu Royal
- What's Included
The name of the hotel suggests that you have booked a decent 4 star hotel which is, looking at the facilities, probably true. But it lacks charm and quality. Noisy rooms, old furniture, dark environment, etc. Staff doesn’t speak English very well and no Dutch either, bit sad in an international city like Brussels.
We stayed for two night over the weekend at the Raddison Blu. The hotel is in perfect location. Right on the edge of the old town (5 minutes walk to the main Grand Place), and 8 minutes walk to the nearest metro. The shopping center and main restaurants again are only 5-8 minutes walk.Upon arrival we were greeted by the friendly and helpful receptionist. The hotel entrance lobby is very grand and impressive- great first impressions! In fact the staff at the hotel are all really friendly and helpful, especially the concierge- he was great at directing us to places and facilitating us with public transport. We made a few calls from our room down to reception, and they were very quick and efficient at helping us (i.e. bring fresh mugs up to our room, and a hairdryer which was missing from the room). On the last day we checked out in morning and left our passports in the room safe, but again, they were very quick and accommodating to help us get our passports in time before our flight. We had a room on the second floor which looked out to the beautiful lobby. The room was modern, clean and well sized. We were really impressed with the decor and facilitates available (tea/coffee, English channels tv, safe,iron/ironing board). The bed was super big and comfortable, and with it being winter the room was nice warm and cosey (thermostat which we could control the temp). House keeping was great, maintain the room for us both days with fresh towels and linen. They also topped up the mini shampoo/ bodywash/ moisteriser for us too daily.Breakfast was reasonable- severed a good selection of hot food and the chef would make additional requests (omelette, pouched eggs). The cold buffet was also great with a good selection of cold meats, cereal, pastries and fruit. The only thing which was missing was a toaster! There was no where to toast the bread which was a shame. Breakfast over the weekend was until 12pm which was a real treat (and meant we could have a nice lie in).We used the gym the both days we were there and the sauna.Gym is small but has all the cardio equipment you will need, some good free weights and a cable machine. All the machines were working well and fresh towels and water are available. The only down side is that the gym is quite warm with no real air conditioning. We did ring reception and they were very quick to look into this for us. They did there best to make the area cooler, but with no real aircon there was no real difference. Overall we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this hotel as it is if great value for money and it a prime tourist location.
My husband and I stayed at the Radisson blu Brussels on Dec 24. We had booked the Winter Wonders package thinking it would be a festive way to celebrate the holiday. We were very wrong. We arrived at the hotel excited and left very disappointed The advertising was completely false. We had no Gourmet and Festive VIP setup in our room , no Winter Wonder discount coupon pack . We had a room and breakfast period. We enquired at the desk and they seemed unaware of any Winter Wonders Package. When we told them to check on their website they said they would talk to the manager and get back to us. They never did. We than complained to their website and received a form letter saying sorry but no explanations of why it happened and an offer of a 50 euro gift certificate. We replied no thank you since we would not be back due to the lack of service. No reply was received obviously customer service is not important to themWe have travelled extensively and have never come across such lack of competence or even caring as we did at the Radisson. The called Winter Wonder package only left us wondering why we came. The location was good , very close to the St Hubert Galleries and the Grand Place.other than that nothing special. The staff was cold and unwelcoming.Needless to say we will not be returning nor recommend Radisson Hotels.
Good size room and very comfortable bed. Only minus for the room was the window view on the interior of the hotel, which make it a bit dark, not having natural light. Even though it didn’t bother us at all,and would come back when in Brussels.Beautiful design of the interior, restaurant and bar area. Breakfast is very good, many choises, one of the best i have experienced in Europe.Location is great, 5 minutes walking to the old city, 10 minutes walking to central train station. Overall a good experience, I totally recommend and would certainly come back.
At the end of November I had a bussiness trip to Bruxelles and I have been accomodated at Radisson Blu Royal Hotel.Conveniently located next to The Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert and at walking distance from the Central Train Station, the hotel met the expectations for a Radisson, with well appointed, very clean and spacious rooms. Breakfast was excellent as well. Although the design was interesting, the only minus was that my room faced the interior atrium, being noisy till late in the evening and without any natural light. But that didn't bothered too much.Next time in Brussels, I will definitely choose the same!
