We spent a week at this hotel and fell in love with Belize. The staff was amazing, the food was excellent, and we will definitely go back. We relaxed on the beach and by the pool. They do have a dive shop. There is a casino.
The hotel looks amazing, especially the large swimming pool. The hotel was not full and we had booked a junior suite. When we were shown to our room it was extremely small (just about held a double bed) under a stairway with four AC units outside the tiny bedroom window. It was clean but that was about it. We requested to be moved to a larger room which, for a price, they did. The bed was cheap, the furniture was minimal. The fridge made so much noise during the night that my husband unplugged it. It had clearly never been defrosted there was water and ice everywhere in the room which was clearly why it was making so much noise. We ate lunch on the first day at the pool side. The wine we ordered eventually arrived half way through the very mediocre meal and was served in champagne glasses. We did not dare to ask for wine glasses as it took so long to receive the other ones. The staff needed to be trained to a much higher standard, the rooms should be refitted with nice furniture.
First of all, this hotel is really far from the village. They claim to have a free shuttle, but it only runs once a day either direction. You have to pay for it otherwise. The rooms are very dated, and ours was dirty. There was some unknown goo on the shower wall (which was there all week, even after complaining),water stained curtains, and filthy dishes. The air conditioner worked intermittently, better after I cleaned the disgusting filter, and the tv never worked. The food. The food was expensive and awful. Truly vile. They advertise several restaurants, but it's one. They just carry your food to the other "restaurants". The place is more of a sand flea preserve than a beach resort. Half of the beach chairs are broken, not that you'd want to sit on the beach anyways. They advertise a golf club. There isn't one. The only positive thing about this place is the people. I wouldn't go as far to say they're great at their jobs, but everyone is super friendly. The blood stain on the mattress was my favorite.
Beautiful property for a relaxing getaway. Quiet and peaceful. Awesome food. Rooms are spacious, clean and beautiful.Casino is not really what most would call a casino but still fun. Staff is exceptionally friendly and after a day or two you feel like family. If you are looking for night life and action stay in Placencia village.Wifi is spotty at best so be prepared to actually unplug. This was work so the inferior wifi was not welcome and the daily commute to Placencia to catch a boat to Harvest Caye gets old after 2 weeks.I would definitely stay again for pleasure. When in Belize remember that "tomorrow" usually means 2 weeks. But hey that's why you are here
Beautiful hotel, amazing food, i would definitely go back with my family to relax and have some rest away from civilization. Personal is really nice and hospitable.Villas are really big and comfortable, perfect for having a nice time relaxing.
