Bermuda is a beautiful island destination, especially this year of the Americas Cup. I have just returned from visiting a second time and enjoyed the location and facilities in this superb hotel. I was a little wary as some of the reviews I had seen were a little negative. I was pleasantly surprised!! From walking in we had nothing but great service and everyone was so helpful. We had an Ocean view at the front of the hotel and woke to beautiful sunrises every morning. The hotel meals area little pricey but I was expecting that and you can eat more modestly in the many bars and restaurants in Dockyard or other towns. Would recommend for all
We had an awesome time at the Fairmont and stayed on the Gold Level which was worth every penny. The views are spectacular, the food is incredible and the service is top notch. Bermudians are super friendly!!We upgraded to spa access for the duration of our stay which is an extra $99 per person. It was totally worth every dollar! My one negative comment is in relation to the Spa- they scheduled maintenance of the sauna and steam rooms which meant we we couldn't use those areas for 2 of our 4 days which was disappointing....they should have told us about this upfront before we paid for its usage for the full stay.
I highly recommend the Fairmont Southampton for a relaxing getaway! Staying on the Fairmont Gold floor was an extra bonus. The staff was so helpful and responsive to all concerns and requests. Had an excellent time!
I came here about 5 years ago for a "Girls Weekend" and had a great time. This time, I came with my husband for a long weekend, and his first trip to Bermuda. We upgraded to the Gold floor, which I find to be a must. You have a beautiful private lounge, the staff remembers your name, and there are always drinks and snacks available. If you were not aware, Bermuda is VERY expensive - equal to the Manhattan prices that I'm used to. If you're not used to that, just be aware. For example, my Caesar salad with chicken was $21. This is a normal price in NYC restaurants, but if you're not used to it, be prepared. The weather was not cooperative (chilly and rain) so we booked massages, which also gave us access to the Indoor pool and all the Spa amenities for the day. This was a wonderful treat, allowing us to swim in the heated indoor pool, or one of the two outdoor hot tubs. There's also steam and saunas in the locker rooms. Just again be aware of prices. My massage was $189 for 60 minutes, but was absolutely fantastic and worth every penny. If you want to leave the resort, there are a few ways to do it:Free ferry to Hamilton Princess (only runs twice a day in winter)Local buses (tokens can be purchased with concierge and they are very clean and reliable)Taxis (always available out front)We also did a tour of the whole island with a local tour company (not booked through hotel) and got a great "insiders" tour of the country. Overall, the Fairmont is beautiful old hotel, with great amenities. Just be prepared for the cost of food and drinks if you stay on site.
We stayed at the Fairmont for eight nights. This hotel is centrally located and MRT is easily accessible. It's also connected to a mall, which is extremely convenient. Hotel staff are kind and helpful. Rooms are spacious and amenities modern. Business facilities are also available. The one downside is that some of the housekeeping staff speak limited English, which makes communication somewhat difficult. Housekeeping was also inconsistent in cleanliness standards, which was disappointing and does not usually happen at Fairmont hotels, globally. Overall, we did enjoy our stay. However, since there are so many other hotel options in Singapore, and Fairmont hotels in eg. North America are so much more pleasant overall than Fairmont Singapore in every way, we would most likely not choose Fairmont again when coming back to Singapore.
