Great Place

My sister, fiance and I shared a suite at this hotel. I was a little wary, but it was perfect! The suite was spacious, with two bathrooms and a separate bedroom, so we all had privacy. The hotel has a nice layout, the infinite pool gives an unbelievable view of the harbour. The staff is very friendly. The free shuttle to and from Hamilton allows easy access to the shops as well as the bus depot if you want to explore the islands. I would definitely stay here again!

An Off-Season Home Away from Home

This is a hotel and property that gets most things right. In fact, you'd have to search pretty hard to find something to be unhappy about. This is Bermuda's off-season, but not for this 47-room hotel. They were very much on their game, cognizant of the smallest details. On the first day, the handle to our luxurious bathroom in our large one-bedroom suite came off. I just laid it on the floor as we left to play golf, and when I returned it had been fastened and repaired. The linens are crisp, the towels soft and plentiful. For myself, my wife and our 11-year-old daughter, just three weeks removed from an impossibly luxurious visit to Playa Cativo Lodge in Costa Rica, this was an interesting comparison to make, and the Newstead Belmont Hills did well in the comparison. Our room was gorgeous with a balcony overlooking the water. We had a king bed while our daughter slept on a pullout coach in the adjoining room, and there was lots of privacy for everyone. Having a full kitchen allowed us to stay in for some meals, always a nice option. The wifi was very good, strong enough to clearly stream live sports from North America. There are two restaurants downstairs, one more of a tapas spot, and both serve delicious food. The prices are high, but hey, this is Bermuda. And they know how to make a quality Dark and Stormy (just try it). The infinity pool on the edge of the bay looking across to downtown Hamilton is attached to a large hot tub. So even though the nights were cool and breezy, you could swim and soak to your heart's content. The hotel has its own water shuttle to Hamilton, but the schedule is a little tricky, often making it convenient to walk five minutes to the quaint and well-run public shuttle. Combined with taxis and the bus service, it's so easy to get around. The hotel has an arrangement with the nearby Belmont Hills golf course that gives each room one free round per day, but the friendly folks at the course let all three of us play, charging us only $35 for a power cart. The hotel has a readily available shuttle to take you there, and they'll store your clubs if you want. The 17th hole will take your breath away. The tennis courts on site were very also very good. So when it came to food, fun, activity, swimming and shopping, we were covered. It was our first trip to Bermuda but everything seemed so easy, and while we ventured to the west end and the Royal Navy Shipyard (two easy water shuttles there, a speedy public bus back) it feels like we have barely scratched the surface of what the island has to offer. We'll be back, and likely to this quiet, well-run property.

Beautiful view of Hamilton!

Friendly, helpful staff and wonderful accommodations plus an excellent pool/hot tub with a fabulous view across the harbor to Hamilton make this a great experience. From out on the private balcony or even inside the room, one can watch the comings and goings of ferries, cargo ships and small boats. And at night, the lights reflecting across the water is even better. We had a super time and love this hotel. Access across the harbor to the city is so easy on their private ferry, Carolyn. Highly recommended.

Bungalow on the bay!!

First time in Bermuda. Beautiful place. Lovely people! The Newstead at Belmont Hills was surprisingly great. And I said 'surprisingly', because in the United States we are very spoiled. Hotels can be found at good price, with new facilities and lovely staff. In the Caribbean islands that it harder to find. The location of the hotel is magnificent, on the bay across Hamilton. Views of the bay and marina were amazing. Hamilton is the capital of Bermuda and its main city. They gave us a bungalow on the bay, with two balconies very well furnished. Our room was spotless, and very roomy. Master bathroom was perfectly equipped and very open. There was another 1/2 bathroom close to the living/dining area, and a small but confy kitchen supplied with everything we might need. We were only 2 guests, my husband and myself. The views were dreamy! Even at night! No beach. As you will see, sandy beaches are not everywhere around the islands. Cleaning service was outstanding! The hotel is not cheap, but they do a great job of making you feel good and taken care of. Staff at lobby was always very helpful and nice. Always with a smile and obviously liking what they do. Definitely would go back to same location!
