Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre
- What's Included
My husband took me and our daughter to Vancouver B.C. to celebrate our birthdays (I share a birthday with our daughter). The staff made our stay extra special by upgrading our room, furnishing us with special birthday treats, and birthday wishes. Our room was beautiful and the view was awesome as was the location. Fantastic service, very helpful. I can’t wait to go back.
I had a very stylish and comfortable room which I appreciated very much during my stay at the wall centre. My main feature to look for in any hotel is the quality of the gym/pool/hot tub/sauna and in this regard the hotel excelled. My one gripe with their fitness centre is you do have to go outside to access it, so it is best to bring your workout gear in a bag and change into it.I was here for a surgery and the hotel was very accommodating as home base for my recovery, bringing me extra pillows etc.It was a shame the beautiful TV in my room could not access netflix - I realise at this point most hotels don't but I would suggest it as an area of improvement since I spent my time on my laptop when it could have been more comfortable to just use the huge TV in the room.I did not get the chance to try the food, but they have some great-looking options on their menu.
I recommend staying at this hotel, rooms are beautiful and very comfortable. However I would suggest a high level floor as the lower levels are close to noisy streets, the hotel is near a hospital and city sounds can be annoying if you're looking for a good night sleep.
I don't understand the rave reviews. Maybe they are from folks who stayed in the North Tower, which I understand is better. I shared a double room in the South Tower and there was not even sufficient space for one suitcase, much less two. We had to put one suitcase on the floor and one on the rack (blocking our way). The closet was smaller than those found in Japanese business hotels and it was filled by an ironing board which I had to remove and lean against the wall in order to hang my clothes. There was also no piece of furniture with storage drawers so I had to roll up my sweaters and put them in the tiny drawers under the coffee maker and next to the fridge. The room was not clean and housekeeping left a lot to be desired. One morning I spilled coffee on my bed so I left the card that requests clean linens. After the room was serviced, the sheet had obviously not been changed as the coffee stain was still there. The hotel restaurant, Cafe One (which has bad food and worse service) is in the North Tower and requires you traverse a long and often deserted walkway to get there from the South Tower. Seems much safer to walk outdoors, but during my stay the weather was rainy and quite chilly at night. Considering the high rates here, you should be able to find a much nicer room, probably at a lower cost, elsewhere.
This hotel is ok. Staff pretty good. Lacks any character or atmosphere. It’s big and you feel it. Rooms average. Noise from corridors high. Water pressure in shower poor. Hard to recommend but not terrible. Location good. Stayed twice. North Tower seems to get better room service.
