Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre
- What's Included
Jess the waitress at the restaurant was wonderful. Great service and all the dishes she recommended were great. The dinginess crab cakes, mushroom ravioli and molten chocolate desert all superb. Thanks for a super experience. Bill Carter
This hotel was much better than we thought. The service was amazing. From the time my wife and I arrived till we left everyone was incredibly friendly. The corner room we had was spacious and the view was spectacular. The bellman, checkin receptionist, concierge, restaurant personnel are to be complimented. Hotel is nicely located with so many great restaurants close by.
I stayed in Sheraton Vancouver Wall Center for a business trip in Vancouver back in January. It was my first visit to Vancouver and I think this hotel contributed in making it a nice and comfortable stay. Here's the highlights of my experience and review:1- LocationThe hotel is located in a very strategic and convenient part of downtown Vancouver. Being on Burrard street, it links all major intersections of downtown. It is also center to all entertainment activities in that part of town. Everything seems to be at a walking distance. I had to go out at my instances throughout the day to catch a bite, run or see the surrounding area and I never had to hail a cab or call an Uber. It is really very easy getting around and if you happen to call a cab, they all know where the hotel is located and will bring you back safely.Burrard street itself is very vibrant and you have plenty of restaurant choices (like the Joey Burrard which is within a 5 minutes walk from the hotel or the oyster bar a few minutes further down). If you are visiting Vancouver for business, well this hotel is definitely the right place to be as I noticed that most big brands are within 15 minutes walk from it. I also would like to add that it is really nice walking up and down Burrard street on a sunny day.2- The hotel itselfIt does not seem to be a high end hotel, but it is definitely a beautiful 4-star hotel. The hotel has a very spacious front area where the vallet parking service sits and it gives on all the sections of the Wall Center. you can imagine that it is somewhat grandiose since it is shared with the Center. The hotel's lobby is somewhat small and thin. I was waiting for my colleague one morning, but had to stay up because the only seating area was already occupied by a family of 4.I loved the front desk. It is not cumbersome, situated at the left side of the main entrance and very close to the main elevators. It is a little small though and not always fully manned. I had to wait 20 minutes one morning to get to my turn as there was only one officer on duty. What is really joyful about the main entrance and lobby are all the mix of colors. It is like a reflection of the beautiful Vancouver weather (when the sun is up)While the hotel is a large and tall imposing building in the middle of downtown, its halls are somewhat thin. You step out of the elevator and then you go into those narrow halls to get to your room. It is not a disturbing thing at all, but still don't understand why it is that thinA beautiful genuine feature in the halls is the weather forecast that is provided on a huge mirror as soon as you get out of the elevators. The mirrors left side has 4 or 5 sentences describing the weather (sunny, cloudy, rainy, etc.) and the one corresponding to the state of the weather lights up depending on how things are outside. It is definitely way more beautiful than the lame temperatures we are used to.2- RoomsI loved the rooms. They are extremely cozy and since the hotel is a sky scraper, you are somewhat guaranteed a gorgeous view from the high glass walls of the room giving on either of the sides of the hotel. I do admit I had some of the best sunrises and sunsets. One not so nice trait of the rooms is that if you happen to be on a side where you have other buildings blocking you, the outside can see into your room and thus you have to close your shutters to keep your privacy, especially at night.Rooms are equipped with the basic but state of the art equipment from the flat screen TV to the coffee maker and iron board. The bed is central to the room and centered with the TV so that you can enjoy perfect R&R time after a long business day. 3- ServiceLoved the service. It was everything I would have expected from such a hotel. The front desk officers are very nice and were so smiley. That was invaluable for someone like me who was visiting the city for the first time. Room service was also perfect, they do a great job in getting your order quite fast and on time. They explain everything fast and they are not the kind who are imposing on tips. It feels that they are genuinely there to assist you and not to get tipped.House keeping was also very good. They never hesitated to clean my room even at on-standard times since I was coming in and out quite a lot due to different meetings. They accommodate my schedule and I always had a clean refreshing room.I recommend this hotel for your visit to Vancouver. It is really nice and fits any travel purpose. Whether you are there for business or pleasure, it is a very accommodating and convenient hotel and would definitely contribute to making your stay in Vancouver a very pleasurable one.***Please like this review f you find it helpful. Stayed here twice (before and after a trip) and have left with less than a favourable impression. The departments that were great included reception / housekeeping / doormen. The ones that influenced this rating were the restaurant (separate review given) and the bell staff, as well as the management response. I am not going to detail that issues, rather the impression given by the hotel when I sent an email detailing that less than stellar performances, their reaction was silence. I was not after anything (as this was a bucket list holiday and I had already checked out) and the most I expected was a "thank you for your feedback" email. Since this was not provided, the rating was became a 2 rather than a 3 as I feel it summed up the experiences we had.
From the first connection with the manager to book, to every detail of the stay, everything was amazing once again. We were in Vancouver for the U2 concert and as soon as we knew we'd be headed to Vancouver, there was only one place we wanted to stay. Customer service is amazing (so helpful with buses and assistance to activities, bedding is amazing, the location is absolutely stellar, and the views are incredible. 4th stay did not disappoint- thank you once again, Wall Centre.
