Having made a reservation at the SWC Vancouver for 7 Dec 2016, I was browsing the web site to see what else is available and what benefits a lifetime Gold member could look forward to.I noticed that there was a Club floor and decided to look at what the club floor benefits offered.Everywhere else in the world - where I have stayed at Starwood hotels - a club lounge means, a la carte and continental breakfast in the lounge or the option of a full buffet breakfast in the cafe, hors d’oeuvres and drinks in the club lounge at around 1700h daily, access to meeting rooms in addition to priority access to business centre, access to a knowledgeable concierge and check-in/check-out at the lounge levelDisappointed to find that the management of the SWC Vancouver, have decided to charge extra for a Club floor but provide NONE of the benefits! In fact, the staff who I spoke to - seemed almost offended that I had the nerve to ask what benefits lifetime GOLD members could expect. No we don’t to upgrades for Gold members. No there is no hot breakfast. No there are no free drinks in the evenings. The most ANNOYING thing during my short conversation with 2 of the staff (at front desk and a girl at reservations) was that neither could bring themselves to admit there is NO BENEFIT to paying extra for the Club floor and Gold members are NOT given ANY recognition of status. When I asked “what is the point of me giving you all these years of business / customer loyalty and all the extra money - when you’re doing NOTHING for me?” the response I got was “ Platinum members get blah blah “. She seemed to be reading from a prepared script of answers - so no matter what the question, the answer was a standard “ Platinum members…blah blah “. I note from the hotel’s own web site that other guests have complained about the Club floor benefits or lack of them but it seems to have fallen on deaf ears.Clearly the management of this hotel has forgotten “Guests/Clients are the people who pay your wages!”.Needless to say, I cancelled my reservation and booked elsewhere.

Nice room

We had a great 1 night stay at the Sheraton. Location is great for exploring the downtown. Only negative is the parking garage. The spots are small and we had to circle around a lot to even find a spot.

Cool building, good location, all the nice luxury amenities, but bed too soft

This is a ritzy hotel with excellent staff and all the amenities you'd like. The location is also good for exploring Vancouver and there is a taxi queue right near the hotel. However, the bed was so soft that we did not get a good sleep. Also, please note that no hotels in Vancouver seem to offer a shuttle service from the airport, so you will need to take a taxi.

Hotel Details

Great hotel! The staff is extremely helpful and courteous to travelers. Knowing Vancouver is a tourist city, they are both knowledgeable and ready to help! The hotel is located just walking distance from the city financial center and the malls. Everything was great, but I would've liked to see a little more care and attention to the rooms.

Lovely hotel for the family

What I liked about this hotel was the location. Slap bang in the middle, very walkable from here and I did walk a lot to explore the city. They also had a free regular shuttle that would take you to the waterfront and back.We arrived a few hours before the normal check in time and had to wait a while for our room to be available. There were a coach party that had arrived at the same time. However it did not help that one of the the four lifts was out of action during our entire stay, this meant a long time just to get to our room on a few occasions.We were given a remodelled room, large enough for a family of four. We had views of English Bay from the room, a small fridge and two bottles of water provided everyday. However forget the bottled water, drink the tapwater, Vancouver water is probably the best I have ever tasted, fresh from the mountain it seems.The Sheraton is two towers and the swimming pool and the computer center was at the other tower. The pool I felt was a disappointment given that this was a hotel popular with families I just think it lacked something.I said the location was good, there were cafes, places to eat, a supermarket, 7-11 even a hospital nearby. The HOHO bus stopped outside the hotel and you could easy walk to the shopping area. Davie Street which is the heart of the gay village was nearby and it was a place we went there a lot to eat, as well as visit the cafes and it had a good self service launderette there.One big plus of the hotel, if you are lost just look out for the towers in the skyline.
