If you are staying less than 5 days, they do not care about you. DO NOT COME HERE FOR A WEEKEND get away. My family of 4 went for a weekend get away of 2 nights before returning to home from 2 week vacation in Colombia. You are not allowed to dine in the their restaurants on your 1st night there, NO MATTER WHAT. So you pay for a night but cant enjoy what they offer on the 1st night. You HAVE to eat at their buffet...which is just OK & super repetitive. I was there 2 nights & it was the same food choices. Our 1st day there, you are told to eat at the snack bar until the buffet is ready at 6:30. That is fine, we went by the beach & got to the snack bar. We sat down, & waited as no one came to us. So i thought maybe i have to go to the counter & order. Then the guy sit down & tell me what you want. I didnt have menus or know what i could order. He then got me a menu & seemed annoyed. We ordered, he got us the food, & it was old. Like it was sitting on the counter for a while. Lots of flies around too. The fries were stale, the soda was flat, & the burger buns were hard. Not to mention the meat on the burger felt like it was microwaved or cooked in water...couldn't tell. We went to our room & changed into our pool gear. We noticed the room only had one shower towel for the 4 of us. I called it in at 4:30 & they said it would be taken care of. We came back to the room at 630 to take showers & get ready for the buffet. Towels were still not there...just one. My wife & daughter used the one towel & my son & just skipped showers. I called them & asked for the manager & he could not be reached. They could tell i was pissed & told them why. They assure me it would taken care of. After the buffet, we walked around, watch a kids show then went back to the room. Now we had a total of 3 towels in our room...for 4 people. I called back & they said they would bring it right away. They never did. Next morning i went to reception desk & had to hunt the manager...because he cant be reached by phone. After arguing with him about that & the dinner situation & the snack bar. He said he would take care of towels. Never once did the manager or his staff ever apologize or seem to really care. It was more of an annoyance to them, that i wanted towels. You have to reserve a dinner table for their restaurants at 8:00 AM of that day, so there goes relaxing or sleeping in on your vacation. If you get there at 8:30 AM the line is long & you will miss out, as we did. I asked the Manager why they don't have enough space for their guests & he said there is always room if you stay here 5 days. He said eventually you will get to get a spot but because I was only there 2 nights it doesn't give them time to fit us in. I already told him we robbed of our 1 nights dine at their restaurants & now the 2nd as well. He said if I came back at 3:00 PM to the lobby he would check if any one had cancelled. Again...i would have to walk all the way to reception desk & waste my vacation time to check with him. They do not understand guest services here or accommodate to anyone. Instead of the manager checking in on me or their staff following up. Leaving me a message or a note that an opening was available to us...i have to track him down, which is not easy. This place is expensive & not worth it. Its not really all inclusive, you have to pay for anything you want to do at the beach. Wifi is not included, its 2017...everyone has free wifi, especially for guests. They charge $5 USD for an hour! Safe for storing documents or other important items is available at a fee probably per day as well. That is crazy. Still hard to believe this is an all inclusive.
This remote resort was surprisingly beautiful, well-kept and very secure, given it was off the beaten path with a long dirt road to take you there. Highlights for us were the beautiful and BIG pools, if you like to swim, these are the pools for you. Lots of lounge chairs, music and the bars are right there at the pool area and have a big menu of complimentary drinks to try. I also enjoyed the grounds, beautifully landscaped with lots of tropical plants, birds, iguanas and lizards to see. My eight year-old son and I love to snorkel, so we took advantage of the complimentary loaner snorkels every day while we were there, but only one of the days was the water clear enough to see the bottom. On that one clear day we did see some nice tropical fish in the sea grass and small rock formations just off the beach in the swimming areas. We also rented a jet ski, but this was not part of the hotel so we had to pay cash, 150,000 pesos or about $60 for 30 minutes, not a great deal but my family and I really enjoyed our time on the newer model jet ski. The room was very nice and clean, and we didn't mind that the water wasn't very hot because it was so hot outside and we enjoyed cooling off. We found the resort very busy with people, so the buffets were also busy. We thought the food was good, not great, but there was plenty of variety, with a Colombian flair, and we enjoyed every meal. The staff were attentive, and there were plenty of them around all the time. Pool opening and closing times were inconsistent due to cleanings, we found that a little annoying. All in all, it was a very nice get-away from our Cartagena trip. Not sure it will be a future destination for us, but we enjoyed it all the same. Be sure to see the new Colombian National Aviary not far from the resort, that was very interesting, especially if you like birds.
The beach and hotel is absolutely beautiful but the service is terrible. Don´t bother trying to find information about what you can do at the hotel from the staff, they will only give sharp, overly concise answers; talk to the other tourist there to find out what you can do such as renting snorkling gear for free, canoes, talking a boat to another small isalnd where they have a little restaurant (all included.) Rooms are quite nice, although we didn´t have a fridge while most other rooms did. Our room was a fair hike from everything and we got very lost trying to find it - they don´t show you where the rooms are and the directions are incredibly unclear (and this was trying with a native Spanish speaker, you´ll be completely lost if you don´t speak any Spanish here.) For the cost of the hotel, I wouldn´t recommend it. There are far better options.
Service from the staff is inconsistent. Some go the extra mile to help you while others act like the don't want to be there. Wifi is not included. You pay for it but service is only limited to the lobby area and only works for one device at the time. Deposit boxes in the room are not included. You pay about 3 dollars per day.So not all included in this "all inclusive" resort.Breakfast buffet is ok. However, servers lack training. Tables are poorly clean after each family. Crumbs and debris from previous guests are thrown all over the floor and over the seats. Not good. The system to make reservations for dinner is all screwed up. You have to get up early in the morning and make a long line. Ridiculous.Rooms are comfortable but water is cold and towels are old.Room service is not available so make sure you don't miss eating times. You are obligated to go eat out. I missed the convenience to eat in the room at least one day of our stay. The scuba diving center (Nautilus) is one of the highlights as the staff does a really good job with beginners (mini courses) as well as with experienced divers. Phanor is the guy to go. Great instructor and a wonderful person. The scuba diving experience saved our stary in this over-priced and very poorly managed resort. Hope they listen to the reviews and address all their issues because it has the potential to be a great vacation spot. Not there yet.
This resort and island has it all. Beautiful property, pools, grounds, tennis courts, beach, etc. The included buffet is more than enough to satisfy any patron, but if you prefer, there are several speciality restaurants you can choose from....they cost extra, and I cannot say the food is worth the added expense, but they are there, if you want to try something different. Many tours and activities to choose from, which are extra, but there is something for everyone, and we enjoyed all the tours/activities in which we participated.Nightly shows and activities, led by entertainers who also offer entertainment throughout the day in the pool areas. My one complaint, the service....they have a 5 star installation but offer 3 star customer service, hence the 4 star rating.I will also note, that when you make your reservation, the web site asks where you are from, and the price varies depending on your location! Sooooo, if you want a better price, come from a poorer location of the world :)
