Overview
Expect Best Western affordability and value at this older all-inclusive beachfront hotel located in the laid-back resort town of Jac Beach. The volcanic dark-sand beach is great for walking and swimming and the hotel is strolling distance from the town's shops, restaurants and nightlife. The friendly, lively atmosphere at this long-time Canadian favourite is ideal for sunseekers looking for a smaller hotel close to activities in town.

Location: Beachfront, 2 hours from Juan Santamaria International Airport in San Jose.

The hotel is between good and very good.

The towels for the pool should be taken and changed in the pool area, not in the lobby.Hair dryers do not have life-saving protective switch. The air conditioning makes a lot of noise.Should have enabled the snack service until the club closes.Apart from the above, I enjoyed the rest.

Keep your expectations in check

This hotel is a place to stay, not a destination. We did not find obviously better options when walking up and down the beach during our short visit. That is one thing this hotel has going for it, great beach location. The pool is also nice. The food is good. Otherwise, it was not the all inclusive that we've come to appreciate. There is no beach service or even poolside service. The room had some functional issues but was clean and comfortable. It was really too loud for way too long on one night. The fireworks went until 1am and revelers came noisily back to their room at 4am. I think this was a Wednesday night, no special holiday. During the daytime, families dominated the pools and buffet. I found it to be a little expensive for Costa Rica in general but it may be one of the best options in Jaco.

excelent food

I came to sty 1 week in September and ended up staying for a month because the food is delicious and the staff is amazing .karen Jimenez manager of the bwjb and her secretaries , are super polite, , the bell boys are very fat and go the extra mile to give anyone any information or guidencence .Jeffrey villareal, Jossi silva and Maria del mar Rocha, from entertainment are full of energy and well educated. The food server make you feel like you re in a 4 Season resort. The lifeguards and the maintenance team keep the grounds immaculate. The maids clean every single inc of the room carefully, the water pressure is superb , the mattresses are new , all the rooms have been remodeled.

It's just ok

It's just that a Best Western. Don't be fooled by the 'all inclusive' deal. It's expensive for what you get. The party music on Saturday's is just too much and too late. It's supposed to be a family hotel but they don't seem to care. The rooms smell like mold, yet the staff does their best to keep you happy. The only reason I'd be back is for the food and the fact that our son never left the pool the entire time.

Loud lobby

The hotel is okay. not terrible and not great. The biggest issue is that the open concept lobby is near the rooms, so it is very loud, especially at night. Didn't sleep soundly at all due to noise at 1am from teenager, the games room area and giant tv.. Also front staff didn't help to quiet things down. I understand partying, but either this is a family friendly hotel or it's for party goers. The two can't go together. The showers are built for tiny people. Had to contort my body to wash my hair. The food is okay. The drinks are good. The hotel staff is friendly, but I probably not stay here again. The resident iguanas by the pool are great though.
