This hotel is gorgeous! We spent 6 days in other hotels traveling across Costa Rica. It was very refreshing to land here. Just pulling up to the hotel it is obvious that it is a nice place. The landscaping/ bushes and flowers are very well done and very well cared for. The outdoor lobby area is amazing with a brick laid groin vaulted ceilings and very good lay out. The chairs and couches are comfortable and the views out the back are amazing as well. The staff was very accommodating, check in was super easy. Previous hotels the check in process was quite the ordeal with passport numbers and photo copying pass ports and filling out paer work. With this check in it was a breeze. and pleasant . Our room had a beautiful ocean view as well as a veiw of Herradura Island. Our room and the whole hotel was spotlessly clean and very well appointed. The pool was clean, huge and very beautiful. The location of the hotel was great for the marina, deep sea fishing as well as being close enough to enjoy Jaco but far enough to be able to get away from Jaco as well.
This resort is so beautiful looking at pictures of it, you would think it is fake, but it is not!We spent five nights. The staff at this resort is beyond wonderful. The friendliest people, always wanting to help and go the extra distance! The ocean side of the resort is gorgeous. The pool is neat that it is not a big round traditional pool but more so a big long maze that wraps around the Gardens. They have big canopy beds on the beach, and if you are lucky enough to get one early, it is well worth it. The view out into the bay/ocean is so serene it is like a postcard. The food at the resort is good. I would not say it is "world class" but, it was not bad. There is a variety of different restaurants that you should be able to find something for everyone. Plus, you can always walk over to the marina which has several restaurants as well which seemed a little better.
My family enjoyed our stay at Los Suenos! We stayed in the Versnda condos and it was cleane spacious and the staff was extremely helpfu! We enjoyed the private pool as well as the short walk to the larger pool and beach area. The food at the swim up bar was reasonable and delicious. We are looking to visit again and will stay at Los Suenos. We had a Royal vacation!!
We were a family of 4 along with a good friend and his family of 3, stayed for 6 nights at the hotel. The Good: Hotel landscape is really great, the pool area is quite big and has a lot of different sections that make the pool almost private. The walking pathway to Los Suenos Marina is very well designed and we spent a lot of time at the Marina visiting the different restaurants and Coffee shop. The front desk and concierge area was quite helpful with the Travel company and cab having separate desks. One could get a lot of travel info upfront but the Concierge desk could be better instead of only answering the questions we asked. The best part of the Hotel is the balcony area near the Front desk which gets a phenomenal ocean breeze, particularly in the evening. The Bad: The restaurants in the hotel are not only very pricey but not great quality food. Zoe's kitchen (Pool side bar) is the worst, their drinks barely have any alcohol in them and food is ridiculously expensive, there are no appetizers or entrees below $12-15. 8cho is the only decent restaurant there which also has good service compared to the rest. What we learnt: Take the Breakfast package if you have a chance to get it, it is well worth it. Plan to eat more at the Marina which has a great Italian restaurant and coffee shop and reasonable prices. Coffee shop upfront is not too bad either. One big lesson is: Don't rent a car unless you really want to drive. Getting a cab with a dedicated driver for the day is only 20% more expensive in Costa Rica and is well worth it. No one told us this until we rented and did the math thereafter. It is not worth doing the TAM excursions as they are super pricey and rental/driving a car is too much trouble for long excursions, hence the middle ground option.
Our stay for four nights was very nice. Overall staff was helpful and professional in the hotel and pool area. Restaurant staff was so so and service was slow. The location was great to the town of Jaco and many excursions. The pool is great for the kids to hang out all day. Incredibly hot. The rooms need updating. Cracks in floor and walls and grout in bathroom
