Bahia Del Sol Beachfront Hotel
- What's Included
I must say I did not want to leave this gorgeous country yet alone this hotel, Being our first time here (celebrated my moms 70th birthday and she was so content).THE HOTEL GROUNDS: are beyond immaculate surrounded by beautiful lush vegetation. There is SPECIAL attention to the labeling of there plants and trees which I loved and enjoyed reading, educating myself about 'em. Also it is beachfront so you are steps away from the sand and water. need to mention: the sunsets are just beautiful and breath taking....STANDARD ROOM: Are cozy spacious, well kept/clean our housekeeping gal Jenny extremely nice and generous and ALWAYS has a smile on her pretty face! The STAFF/restaurant: well what can i say.... Andy, Alejandro, Ronald and Carlos Solano, (all smile continuously) hard working kind souls who are so respectful, funny and have great manners they all go out of their way to make you feel and your stay a little extra special! My mom (Eduviges), My tia Lupe and our friend Socorro (Mimi) and myself adored all of them and enjoyed conversing with each and every one of them... Restaurant NASU: Service is great! Breakfast was yummy we all enjoyed what was served everyday here. Dinner was awesome the fish, steaks, shrimp, dinner salads all fabulous/goodOutside surroundings: there is a (walking distance) mini market about 1 block or so away as well as other restaurants. To all reading this review: If you are really looking to relax get away from it all and enjoy your time "being in the now/present... Bahia Del Sol is the place to stay (it calls your name)!Bahia Del Sol thank you for not only your hospitality but making my moms stay here so memorable and fun! I will return to CR and stay with Y'all in August '18 PURA VIDA!!Cynthia Bussiere
This property had a beautiful view of the ocean and you could hear the surf lull you to sleep at night. The staff, Dania and Michael at the front desk, the housekeeping, bar and dining room staff were so friendly and helpful to a couple gringos. They assisted us in our Spanish and we expanded their English vocabulary. I would definitely stay there again. It is a small boutique hotel with nice landscaping that had lovely paths to stroll through native vegetation. There was even a monkey bridge to accommodate those visitors when they decided to show up. Lots of big iguanas around too and easy to walk to other restaurants if you desire.
We booked a suite with two bedrooms and a kitchen. In the off-season (September), the price was really good; roughly US$200 per night, breakfast included.Unfortunately, the good price and great location can't make up for the lack of maintenance. We suffered the first night from the bacteria build up in the AC (dirty filters and bacterial growth in the linens and draperies): uncontrollable coughing, asthma attack. We spent the better part of the next day getting over the first night. The staff is very sweet and attentive. They changed the filthy filters, washed the linens and drapes. But, come on, a decent maintenance schedule would have avoided the entire episode. The lighting in the rooms is depressing: giant incandescent bulb about 15 feet up. And, there was no thought put into the bathrooms and the livability of the space: There's no closet to hang clothes (the closet has some shelves); there's one safe for the two bedrooms to share. It is one of the tiniest safes I've ever had in a hotel: good for two wallets and cell phones only. There are no ceiling fans, which I thought would have been a requirement in a tropical hotel. And, it's really incredible that a hotel which regularly experiences torrential rains doesn't have non-skid flooring in the public areas! The tiles are slick and, when wet, really treacherous. (One friend suffered a back injury while walking during the rain.)
Our room was super modern &comfortable. Different entry systems would be nicer- makes it hard to have only 1 key. Breakfast was delicious. Close to great beaches and restaurants. All the activities we participated in were perfect! Beach IS joggable, IMO.
