Once again we went to Barcelo Langosta for the weekend and as always had a great time. The service was amazing from the front desk to all the other facilities. We recomend this hotel without a dought if you want to have a relaxing time.
This was our first long stop in Costa Rica and we chose to stay at Barcelo Lagosta Beach because we loved our experience in other Barcelo's in Mexico.. but this one was a major disappointment. The resort seemed to be deteriorating and in need of major repair. (So not aesthetically pleasant). The room we were given was in one of their newer buildings, but it had a moldy smell and did not seem too clean; so we asked to be moved. The second room was in one of their older buildings, but it offered a "fresher" atmosphere and was closer to the main building on property. Be advise that though it is all inclusive, there is no beer in the minibar and you are given ONE water, ONE juice and ONE soda, for a room based on double occupancy. Honestly, the "lack-of service" made you want to leave and not stay at the hotel, despite having everything inclusive. There was no welcoming atmosphere from the staff to international guests.. they seem to highly depend on their local market and since it was a holiday weekend, the hotel did get a bit crowded with locals. Overall, it was a dent to our expectations... but the beach, nightly live music and shows were nice and we appreciated meeting Jose, the bellboy, and Edwardo, a waiter in the restaurant, who showed professionalism and general hospitality to guests.
My husband and I picked this hotel for our honeymoon, we had an amazing time there. The customer service was extraordinary, from the gardeners, the bartenders, staff at the restaurants, the dancers to the managers, you never noticed anyone upset or tired everyone treated us with excellent service and respect. My husband and I would sit at the bar by the pool and the staff were amazing, when we would go back and they knew the drinks we liked so as we walked to the bar the staff had it ready for us. Also, one of the staff at the bar asked us what's your favorite food and we both said "we really like Paella" and he responded come back at 7pm at this restaurant we will make it for you guys, I was amazed and could not believe it, we went back and they had the most amazing paella we've had hands down. We fell In love with the people and how they transpired such a peaceful vibe. Since Costa Rica doesn't have much all inclusive hotels so we're so happy we decided to go for Barcelo Langosta in Tamarindo. We loved how close everything was, several times we took a cab that will charge us 4 to 5 bucks to take us to Tamarindo where you can safely walk around and enjoy the street life and go bar hopping, is totally safe. We can't wait to go back. Armando was great and the guy at the bar by the Info desk was also pretty awesome, such an expert in making all types of drinks. We highly recommend this resort for couples and families. Just be careful at the beach the waves are pretty strong and that's pretty much everywhere. We booked our excursions with the lady Who works in the hotel, she is such an expert knowing all kinds of activities in the area. We did Palo verde and Vandara. We loved both of them.
My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights in early September. The resort offered a great bargain for the all inclusive price paid.Location: The resort is located on Playa Langosta, a beautiful surfing beach just outside of the Tamarindo village itself(about a 10 min walk via dirt road)Property: The property itself is very beautiful; tropical, well kept, many iguana and howler monkeys residing there.Food and drink: we had the all inclusive, so that was nice and a nice bargain. However, there was only one restaurant for all 3 meals, and the team did a nice job of keeping the meals varied. There is an omelet bar for breakfast that also serves as a grille for dinner. There is a nice salad and fruit bar, as well. Overall, very satisfied with the food. The alcoholic drinks on the plan could be better. We found the house liquor and drinks to not be great, but we understand how this works---premium prices for premium liquors.Room: very pleased with the room; very clean, spacious, and the AC was amazingly good.Noise: We stayed in building 4 and our balcony was just over/near the amphitheatre, which was the location of either private parties, or disco, every night. And, it is loud from around 8 until around 11pm each night. You will not be sleeping during this time. We either turned the TV up to drown it out, or put pillows over our heads. Thankful that it ended promptly each night.Staff: the entire staff are very friendly and helpful! Big plus for this resort!!Overall, we feel that we got a good bargain for what we paid. With just a few minor changes, we could have given 5 stars.
My wife & I went to this hotel to celebrate our 39th wedding anniversary. We wereattended by Sayli Alvadado who was amazing!!Very effiecient & she went all out to make our stay memorable. The only setback is that we have to eat all our meals in the same restaurant .Its all inclusive but some drinks are not free. The rooms are nice.
