Coco Beach Hotel & Casino
- What's Included
The Hotel is right along the main drag of Playa Del Coco. The Service is Great. The rooms were ok, If you are sensitive to Noise This isnt the place for you, We had some guy run up and down the main drag with a Motorcycle every night. You get a complimentary breakfast which was great, but found food to be somewhat pricey. I found Costa Rica Pricey. There is a little supermarket kitty corner to the hotel which we got water and snacks and booze from, there is a fridge in the rooms. Listening to the howler monkeys is quite something else, if you head down to the beach early in the mornings you can usually see family monkeys in the trees. I think if we were to go back down i would try and stay somewhere all inclusive. Overall this place wasnt horriable but wasnt the greatest. If you are going to do any tours i highly recommend doing the day to Nicaragua (: AWESOME AWESOME.. It is a full day, but worth it.
After being there I doubt there is a nicer place in this town. Keep in mind this is a one street 5 block town. The check in is fine. The room is fine, nothing nice or special. The TV works somewhat. Something they should tell americans when they go in the room that is you hit the SAP button on your remote you can change a bunch of Spanish speaking channels and turn them to English. It is backwards in the US, but that would help a lot of people. The shower is fine. It does take some time to heat up. The food in the restaurant is excellent. Gloria is a excellent waitress and should get credit for being really good. The location is next door. There is no one in there this time of year. Late at night you have a good chance of meeting a special somebody, but would not allow them to come onto the hotel property. Overall I did not see anything nicer that was a hotel. I would stay here again if I return. It is a good place. I would not say 5 star as there is no such hotel in this town (there are condos and such that are), but for decent price and real good location then go for it. Oh ya the wifi stinks in the room. They do not give me the code when you get your room. Gloria was nice enough to tell it to me, but it is really weak in the room. The safe did not work, but they fixed that within a hour of checking in. Minor and should have been faster as place was empty, but think front desk guy forgot about it when I first brought it up. Oh well it is still a nice place.
I visited the Coco Beach Hotel for 15 days in July. It is a 2 minute walk to the beach and has a great restaurant. I would especially like to mention Gloria who was both an exceptional bartender/waitress and who was always smiling and made us feel welcome. Also Javier, Wendy and Paula were also part of a wonderful staff. I highly recommend this Hotel. 5 Stars.
This place is situated in a nice location. There are lot of nice restaurants , souvenir stores and shops and block away to the beach. The hotel is kinda old and not well maintain but what do you expect for $93 per night. We stayed here for 2 nights just to experience the authentic Costa Rican life before heading to an exclusive and private resort but no regrets, we enjoyed it! We get a chance to meet the locals and eat street foods.By trhe way, I kinda warn you, because I made a booking thru Expedia and it says that free breakfast,we thought it is a buffet continental but we mislead so we end up buying own.The food is good though and the staff are friendly.
A comfortable and fun respite from the inland Guanacaste heat and dust. Staff was very friendly, rooms were clean, beds extremely comfortable, hot water shower (a luxury!), and location exceptional. Pool was small but delightful, and spa services (massages received by our group) were very good. Dinner in attached restaurant was a bit pricey good, although service can be very slow. There was a live band on Saturday night that played in the restaurant area adjacent to the pool (second floor covered deck with excellent people watching in downtown Coco), which was fun.Our room overlooked the pool and street, and although we could hear some noise from town (it was Saturday night, after all), it was not disruptive.
