Amazing!

We stayed 2 nights at the Hacienda Tamarindo and loved it. Our room (No 2) was beautiful and had a gorgeous view from our private balcony. The beds were very comfortable and we enjoyed falling asleep to the sounds of the frogs and birds outside our window. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. They were able to arrange car rental and kayak tour for us and provided anything we could possibly need for the beach. Breakfast is delicious and made to order. Hammocks out by pool are delightful! If you are looking for a large chain hotel, keep going. Better yet, don't even go to Vieques. It's a laid back, rustic, charming island and hope it stays that way!

Great view, in center of everything

Our room had a great view. Staff not the most friendly. Did not give any details about the hotel, what they provide or maps other than their towel policy. Gave 4 beach towels with a towel card. Didn't inform you that towel place close at 6 pm so when we came from the beach with soaked towels at 6:02 pm the lady at front desk expected us to take to our room!! The shower is stupid! It is extremely small and only allows you to shower 1/2 of your body because water would get on the floor. No door, just a shower curtain. Breakfast was included, which I like. Nice outdoor area for eating and to enjoy the view.

Another great visit!

My husband and I have just returned from another great trip to the Tamarindo Diria. We have been coming here for many years now and have always had a wonderful experience whether it be "in season" or "off season". We enjoy the convenient location, seeing the beautiful grounds, and the friendly staff. We now prefer to stay across the road in the newer section. We find the rooms a bit more spacious and definitely more quiet. It more then meets our needs with the coffee maker and small refrigerator in the room. The morning view from our patio is unbeatable, mother nature at it finest! We would like to extend a special Thank You to your front desk staff Tatiana and Tony, bellman David, and your hardworking bartenders Franklin, Javier, Jose, and Mario. We look forward to our next visit to the Tamarindo Diria and Costa Rica.Respectfully,Frank and Janet MeoniLas Vegas, Nv.

Not very impressed. I am a well seasoned traveler all over the country and have never experienced such unfriendly people as there is on this property. They have no customer service skills. Our first night we needed an extra pillow and we found only 2 towel sets to the room. We asked for a few more towels. It took 4 calls to the desk. 2 of our 4 booked rooms had a/c that didn't work. One was fixed right away. The other still isn't working after day 3. (Working on it again) they don't do follow up on their own. We were gone during the day and expected it to be fixed upon return x2days. Day 2 we ordered snack and drinks at the main lobby bar. It never came only to discover they don't have pool service, go get your own. When we went looking for the snack it was no where to be found. So we reordered and waited until it came. (We were only approximately 20 ft away at the pool)At the family pool if you order food it is inconvenient for the bartender who is on his own. He has to go to the kitchen to retrieve from across the street. Hence they try to discourage you from ordering. They also don't always have what's needed to make your preferred drinks at the family pool. Discovered this day 4. On day 4 we brought our own lunch to the family pool. We were told we could not bring food from off property. We explained why we did. (Look for the lady with food from her car trunk. Best Costa Rican food ever). POOL SERVICE? No such thing at this hotel. On either side. Day 4 there was ONE single server at the pool when happy hour started. This is a MOTEL type facility as far as the rooms go. Standard 2 queen beds unless you reserves Jr suite in the adult section. The breakfast buffet was good. Same hot dishes everyday but still good. Probably the BEST fruit I've ever had. Coffee is superb. Getting a pot to your table was sometimes difficult. I found if I went in search first thing then got food, all was good. I was disappointed not to find shade at the "kids" pool located next to the family pool. All the pools are in poor condition and are not structurally safe. They have ruff/raw concrete edges. Big pieces of concrete missing from many areas in the pools. There are many things that can be improved. Customer service/ethics to start. Yes we did visit with the manager and they understood our complaints which we didn't make a big deal with at first until the issue with the outside food came up. This is not a RESORT type facility. For the price per night I would not probably stay here again.

Great property on a very busy street.

3rd floor room, no elevator.Rooms are tiny. Bathroom, water flow in the shower is non-existent, the shower also is very slow to drain. The beach right in front is a little rocky, however head towards the right...and it's better. It is a public beach so be prepared for (many many) people selling their wares on the beach. Breakfast is decent, fresh waffles or eggs, along with an array of fruit and baked goods. There is always black beans, rice and plantains for breakfast as well. Pool is not heated, so if it's a chilly evening, it means that the pool is chilly. Dry towels run out everyday at around 4:30pm and then there is wait for about 30-40 minutes for a fresh stock to arrive. Watch your towels! We were in the pool and left the towels on the chairs right by the pool. Someone decided to steal ours, as the dry towels had run out. I had to argue with the front desk person to avoid the $20 charge for a lost towel. She had the audacity to tell me that I should always have the towels in my possession, I said yeah, next time I'll jump into the pool with the towels tied to my back! The street outside is super busy, huge tourist trap. Views from the rooms are gorgeous Beautiful sunsets
