Dirty place and terrible bed in the family suite

We booked a family suite, and the bed for my sons was a old and dirty convertible, with a slim mat, dirty sofa pillows, and bed sheets were shorter than the mat. This is unacceptable for the price we paid (133$ for 1 night). I’m sure you could find better and cleaner place. Breakfast was ok, buffet style. We do not recommend this place, this hotel and rooms need to be renovated, dirty carpet, old style lighting and furniture.

Best solution in SAN José

Very clean hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The best part was the breakfast which changed every day and offered plenty of choice. The location is ideal to walk in the center or as a starting point for the tours in Costa Rica.

Rental car gone missing

We arrived to the hotel and the valet was great. They were all very nice! When we went to check in, the front staff was not very friendly. But that's not why I gave this hotel a 3 star.We came back to our hotel real late one night from visiting family. There were no valet drivers in the front, no big deal. My husband went up to the front desk and let them know no one was there and that we wanted to drop our key off. The young man at the front asked for our room #, told us he would give our key to a valet, and told us to have a good night.The next morning when we went downstairs to get our car, the valet asked for our ticket. We explained what happened the night before, and they began to look for our key. It took almost 30 minutes for them to find our key.Which would have been okay. I'm reasonable, I understand that things happen and so do mistakes. However, the people at the front tried to tell us that we never left our key with them. Then the manager tried to tell us that the guy we left the keys with had sticky fingers.Now, there was no language barrier either, my husband is from Costa Rica and speaks fluent Spanish. Needless to say, we will not be staying here again.

Top Quality Stay, Staff and Room service

I'm not married to this brand in any way but every time I go to San Jose it's always a pleasure to arrive at the Aurola Holiday Inn Hotel. The arrival from the Airport will call your attention as their main lobby is by far one of the nearest in the area. The hotel staff is by most part very friendly and useffull, handing a high quality level of english and conversational styles. They're also very friendly and honest.Prices.. the million dollar question, 100% friendly and trust me you do get what you pay for. Please visit their restaurant: El Mirador. On weekend this place will be filled with very interesting people, I promise that if you go you'd see what I mean. I've seen high-end politicians roaming around the area. Not a bad option if you're into high rollers! Food and drink are a bit expensive but very classy and delicious. The place is very clean and well taken care off.Prices are a bit high but trust me, worth every dollar.Cheers!

Nice hotel with a great breakfast. Downtown area near hotel is very rough and we felt unsafe walking, Hotel itself is very good and staff was great. Hotel is in need of a few upgrades but a good place to stay.
