Iberostar Ensenachos is a resort suited for those who like larger properties and big resorts. The Iberostar provides top-notch luxury service and is the only 5 star in Cayo Santa Maria that accepts children. The resort is situated along one of Cuba's most beautiful beaches. The service from staff is extremely attentive and pleasant. For those wanting top-notch luxury and the most out of their all-inclusive experience, the Iberostar Ensenachos is the perfect destination.
This stunning resort, set on a spectacular white powdery sand beach that stretches over 2.6 kilometres, offers all the luxury one expects from a hotel of this class. Experience some of the finest facilities anywhere in dazzling surroundings!
Location:On the unspoiled Cayo Ensenachos in an area of natural beauty, 80 minutes from Santa Clara International Airport.
I went down to this resort in January of this year. The resort is very clean and we'll kept. The staff are fantastic and friendly (not unusual for cuba). World class white sand beach that was kept very clean. The buffet was good but there were no variations over the week we were there. Everything was exactly the same for the entire week. The food was good but a little variety would have been nice. It's ok for a week but we often do 2 week trips and I don't think I could handle the lack of variety and eating the dame thing for 2 weeks strait. Save your time with the a la carts as they are pretty weak. I read this on another review and chose to ignore it and book them anyways.....they were right. The buffet was way better than the a la carts. Over all this is an excellent resort with great people and FANTASTIC beaches. I would recommend this to a friend.
If you are looking for a place to get away and enjoy sun and surf, then this is the place. I would like to start with the cons. The check in procedure was okay, but we did not have a room with a king bed and there was no option until the next day. The common facilities around the hotel seem to be in some kind of disrepair. Only a couple of the fountains were working, lights were out along pathways and common area toilets seemed to need attention (overflow, broken seats, broken locks on the doors, etc.). Internet access is sketchy at best, but this is not a fault of the hotel, it is due to the internet service provider. The Food was better than expected. The buffet had a good selection. Having one grill down for most of the week, created long lineups, but generally the food was good. The Resturants were mixed, the Italian was disappointing, the Asian was a fun night out while the Mediterranean meal was the start of the show. We had a basic room on the family side of the resort. The room was comfortable, roomy and in good condition. The location was a bit of a walk to the Lobby, but the pool and beaches were a comfortable walk. The pools and beaches are in great shape and the snack bars and beverage bars are great to have. Finally, the staff was what made the trip. Everyone we encountered with had a smile and were happy to make our stay enjoyable. Our room team was fantastic, our waiters and waitresses were outstanding and the kitchen staff always helpful. We did tip, but we didn't feel that we needed to and we didn't tip for every bit of service. We did not find that the staff would only assist if you tipped. In summary, this is a great resort is you want to get away. It is on a remote island with only resorts on it. It is at least a 45 minute drive to get to the nearest town. If you are looking for hitting shops and nite life, this really isn't your place. If you are looking for isolation, then Iberostar has nailed it.
This was 12 time to Ensenachos ,like usual we were treated like royalty, the food was so good that even the manager of the StarFish came over to eat lobster! You know it's a great resort when you get to meet stars like El Grupo Aventura and La Señora Dayana in the same week. They now have a doctor on staff and she is wonderful and very compassionate .Christmas Eve was amazing, live bands ,fireworks, amazing light show,Santa in a white convertible just done perfectly , I would like to thank the best chef " la guahira" Anesdany,José Luis the kitchen manager,José the general manager and my 2 best friends Damarys and Adonis. We can't wait to go back in April for my daughter 's wedding ,we will be 50 people!Cuba will never be the same!Dasela,Papi Chulo🍷🌴🇵🇷
In about 20 trips to Cuba, this is the nicest hotel we have been to. The room was especially spacious, huge balcony, big bathroom, lots of drawers for our clothes. Our main complaint was the cleanliness of it. Sheets, pillowcases and towels with stains and holes, stains on walls, doors and light switches, floor swept but not mopped, and constant bad smell in toilet space. The check-in was long - waited twice, as our room was not ready the first time, and even if there is not a big line up, there is only one employee and you have to fill out a form for every person in the room, writing down your complete address in every one of them.Otherwise, we were very satisfied with this hotel and would consider returning. The grounds are huge and beautiful, full of different plants, trees and flowers, hummingbirds and butterflies. The paths are not well light everywhere at night, but men were working on that while we were there. They are constantly trying to make things better. We received excellent service at the main buffet from Merlys and Ozniel. They remember what you like and are quick to take your plates away and fill up your glass with a smile. The service at the seafood and italian restaurant was not as good, staff seemed unhappy there. There is plenty of choice at the buffet, maybe not always what Canadians would go for, but you can always find something. It's true that the food is not very warm and sometimes downright cold. They have lots of types of cheese, cold shrimp every day, often special stations where you can get smoothies, milkshakes, tacos or sushis. The beach is beautiful, even though the water was pretty cold, but I think we had unusually cold weather.Great service at the lobby bar, never had to wait long. Our stay sort of ended on a negative note, as there were several groups leaving around 6 am and we were told the lobby bar would be open for us with some food for breakfast. Well, stack up the day before if that will be your case! The food there looked like it was the snacks from the night before: cake, stale bread, sweaty cheese and unrefrigerated hard boiled eggs with some fruit. There was LOTS of children under 5, looked like a stroller festival - so if you are looking for a quiet hotel, this is not the place! The children area has slides and it's fun, but it's missing a lot of little square tiles at the bottom, and the seesaws in the playground area are all broken and jagged, pretty dangerous.
We have vacationed at Iberostar Ensenachos 5 times in the last six years and we absolutely love it. In particular, the resort has a wonderful tennis pro, Reno. Playing tennis with Reno every day of our vacation was a real treat as he is a very high level player (my husband and I are former collegiate players and we often have difficulty finding people of our caliber o play with). If you enjoy long walks, this is the perfect resort, the resort is huge.
